Very Good

“Great Location and Layout-- yet needs some work”

Like others have said, the house had a great layout and worked really well for our 2 families staying together. It was nice how 3 of the bedrooms had their own en-suite bathrooms and we loved that they accepted dogs. Sadly the maintenance issues put a damper on my review. The rental management company, Wyndham, was great to work with and very responsive all the times that we had to call.... but it was a bummer that we had to take time out from our vacation to call. They replaced the kitchen sink faucet- so that now works, brought us linens for the sleeper sofa when we discovered it had none, also replaced all the burned out bulbs that we discovered upon nightfall that first evening, and brought us a new hand mixer when we realized that the one in the kitchen was broken. As another reviewer said the decking, stairs down to the pool area, and the fence around the pool could really due with a coat of paint and some TLC to repair parts that are broken. We really appreciated the large decks and the sliders that open up from each bedroom onto the deck area. The pool person came out mid week to maintain the pool and clean it up. I also agree with a previous post that mentioned how it would have been nice if they had a few more beach type amenities for guests. Thank you to the folks before us who left behind a couple of chairs to take to the beach. We "paid it forward" with a few blow up floaties for the pool area and some boogie boards for the waves. I would only recommend this house if they spruced up the place a bit. Seems like the rental company would like to, but their hands may be tied by the owners approval. Really a shame because we loved the location and the floorplan. While it certainly wasn't the most pricey of beach houses on Hilton Head, it still commands a price that would lead one to expect that it be better maintained.

Since your departure, we have removed the old wooden fence and installed a brand new vinyl fence as that is easier to maintain and looks nicer & much cleaner. The Property Manager is also working with the homeowner on some other updates here and there. We hope you will come back to visit us and give us an opportunity to provide a much better experience on your next vacation!

“Nice house but lots basic maintenance needed”

This house had a great layout for our family. We went with a larger home to accommodate ample space for everyone and we invested more as larger homes are typically nicer. This one was great on space but in severe need of basic maintenance. A can of paint could fix a lot plus some new vent covers, ( lots gross rust ) lightbulbs, coffee pot that worked, few new blinds that are not broken and a can of carpet cleaner, all would have made a huge difference. We did arrive to a broken dryer, broken kitchen faucet with no hot water and 2 broken outside umbrellas. The dryer got fixed by day 3 but we never had a kitchen faucet we could use or outside umbrellas that worked. ( not great for HH sun). Also recommend owner invest in some beach towels for guests, especially since many fly in. ( would cut down on use of the washer n dryer ) and some beach chairs. We bought some and left them for the next guests. Just inexpensive but a nice touch. Again, nice space but in need of basic maintenance for me to rent again next year at this price.

“Great Location, In Need of TLC”

This home is located in an ideal area, very private, ocean front and only a short walk to have your toes in the sand. We enjoyed the huge back deck overlooking the pool, ocean and wildlife. The layout of the house is great with all bedrooms having an ocean front view and sliding glass doors to the deck. I also love that this home is pet friendly. The down side was that the home was in need of some basic repairs. The wood fence around the pool was missing some posts and in desperate need of a paint job. The decking around the pool was torn up in places and the outside of the home could use a good power wash. The gas grill wasn't working properly and was filthy. Wyndham did send someone out to clean it, but he just brushed the grate off. My brother ended up taking a couple hours to clean it so we felt comfortable using it. We also had an issue with the pool not being heated as requested prior to our stay and again Wyndham did get that resolved after a few phone calls. The oven didn't work properly either. I feel at the price point we paid for this rental, the things mentioned should be part of normal maintenance to preserve the value of the home. I would give the location a 5 star rating, but the service and items mentioned above have made my overall experience a 3.

“Great pet friendly house, exterior pool area in need of TLC”

Rented this property 7/11-18/15. Had my two married children, spouse and 2 corgis. We found the house very nicely laid out: master suite, plus one bedroom with 2 twin beds powder room, laundry, kitchen, dining and family room all on main level. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen and the other with a king bed. Each with private baths along with a small loft area with a couch. NOTE: the main level is elevated one story from ground level and there are no ramps, only steps. It was VERY. Nice to have your own pool. Pool service came by twice while we were there to keep the chemical levels correct. The property has I think 7-8 chairs, a table and umbrella along (all in good shape) with both a charcoal grill and built in gas grill, neither of which we used but which appeared ready to be used. The pool is a nice size and ranges from roughly 3-5 feet in depth, deepest in the middle. Along both ends are benches where you can sit while partially immersed. The house has a massive deck off the main level and the 2d level has a deck of its own that is reachable from those rooms alone: no steps to the main level. The main deck is partially shaded by the upper deck. The lower deck shades a shower area and a place large enough for some chairs. The lower level also has a small children's play area and nearby the only cigarette ashtray. The beach is reached via a predominately dirt/sand path over two dunes. From the deck you can see the ocean but you can't see the waves or really hear the ocean. Next door to this property is a large rental property which you can hear but not see from the house. Occasionally the noise got bothersome during twilight hours. The pool has a surrounding wooden fence painted white that is in obvious need of repainting. The ceiling fan in the 2 story family room does not work and apparently the owner does not intend to fix it anytime soon as they replaced the long chain that controls fan speed with a short one not reachable absent a 12' ladder, while leaving the long one to control the light. All the other fans worked fine. The kitchen was modernized and had plenty of glassware, plates, pots and pans that we put to good use. Hair dryers were in each bathroom. The wifi was easy to connect to as there is no passcode. The unit has nice flat screen tvs. The cable TV channels get only the basic, standard definition channels. The DVD player provided worked well.

I agree the fence,decks and Boardwalk to rinse-off hose need tending and painting. The outdoor shower does not work and there is no hot tub. It has been removed. The pine needles and pool are a bit of a menace as the skimmer is broken. Yard service blew of the pool decking once in the week we were there and there was no push broom to sweep them away. Lots of outdoor seating and deck space. Inside was nice although a bit shopworn. (Bed covers and stained carpet). The layout was great with large kitchen. The bedrooms with baths also were very accommodating. Biggest negative inside was lack a reliable wifi. We had to go to Starbucks to work from laptops.
