“Beautiful view!”

Reviewed 19 Dec 2013

The home is cozy, and a wonderful view! Had some difficulties getting there. There are several hair pin turns up the mountain so prepared. The drive way is also very steep. As there are 3 beds one if the one main bedrooms is a loft with no door or privacy. The kitchen is not very well equipped, pans were horrible to the point if having to buy some just to be able to cook, not plastics bowls for storage things like that. I personally felts the kitchen equipment was very bad or just didn't have what was necessary to cook, eat, clean or store. Had a few other problems. Also be careful if u are bringing animals or small kids the deck behind the jacuzzi is not railed off, not knowing this my small yorkie got out through there an it is straight down. So be aware. I did speak to owner of the company an he did give me a parcial refund for the all the problem I had. So I am appreciative if that. Also make sure if you have anything wrong with place even if it is small problem please contact their emergency number. As I was informed that after we left, that number is not just for emergency it is for any problem you have. Also the furniture is not as pictured old an warn down, but with all that I have to give coddles to the owner of yellow rose for working with me after the fact.

Response from the manager We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the view and the cabin despite a few issues. The driveway can be a little intimidating it you are not used to driving on such mountain roads, but a driveway like this is necessary to reach view like this cabin has. We will let the owner know about you issues with the kitchen outfitting. We are happy to hear that you still left happy with how Yellow Rose Realty handled your stay, and will hopefully return to stay with us again sometime in the future. -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Exciting”

The jacuzzi temp could not be changed. The walkway needed the leaves blown off.The windows needed to be cleaned. The roads are made of dirt.It would be better if they were paved.

Response from the manager We hope that your entire stay was not defined by these few things because this cabin is truly great, and one of our most popular rentals. We are sorry about the leaves and the windows, we will have our cleaning inspector check these things out. We cannot do much about the road though, most of the driveways in this area are gravel. However, we hope that you had a great time during your vacation to the mountains and we hope to see you again the next time you are in the area. -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“A nice stay”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2013

Stayed at Black Forest Cottage for a 4 day weekend middle October. This was our second time staying at this cottage - the first time was a summer trip about 8 years ago. This is a nice place - high ceilings, not fancy but clean and comfortable. The deck has a fabulous view of the park but isn't covered and isn't overly large. The kitchen is pretty well stocked with equipment and utensils. Hot tub is nice on an elevated deck above the main deck. Would be nice if this place had a fire pit, but the way it's positioned there really is no space to put one. The drive way is a little small and steep but it is paved, which is a plus. There is no internet at this house, so be advised. All in all, a nice stay.

Response from the manager We are glad to hear that you returned to this same house after all the years! This is a great cabin and it would be nice if there was room to put in a fire pit. Thank you for taking the time to tell others about your stay and we hope you return again....and lets make it sooner than 8 years! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Private”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2013

Loved the location it was very private( about 10 min drive to town) glad we had four wheel drive it rained a lot while we were there but enjoyed the peace and quite and the view was amazing

Response from the manager Four wheel drive is always a good option when you are staying at one of our cabins on top of a mountain! We are glad everything was good for you guys during your stay and the the seclusion of this cabin was just what you were looking for. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Nice views with a driving lesson -”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

As far as the cabin, it was nice and had a great view of the Smoky Mountains from the living room and deck out back. Waking up to see the smoke hovering in the valley was a pleasure. The cabin had most of the supplies needed for our stay but bring some extra toilet paper. Some things to consider with this cabin. The road leading up is windy and steep in some parts. Be prepared for a driving experience. Our group rented 5 cabins and each of us commented on the roads. After a couple trips up and down, we got used to it but your first ride up will be interesting. One thing to note, if you want the great views, this is something you should expect to endure. We had a van and a sedan and both were capable of the drive up but a small car with four individuals might struggle up some of the hills. Cell phone service (ATT) is very poor up at the cabin. You'll end up taking and making calls on the deck. Data is on 'Edge' and dropped out quite a bit. Cabin Landline - A number was listed on our check in sheet but we didn't find a land line phone in the cabin. When we called this number, we were told the number had been disconnected. This can lead to a safety issue if you need to make an emergency call and your cell phone service is weak. Maps of the cabin locations - We were in town for a family reunion and rented several cabins. As the web site only listed the towns the cabins were in, we ended up far from each other. Even those who rented in the same town had to drive a minimum of 6 miles to get to each other's cabin. Knowing ahead of time, the location of the cabins would have been helpful in our selection. Overall however; our stay was very nice, the cabin was comfortable. We had plenty of water and hot water for our showers and the kitchen had all of the cooking utensils that we needed. There are easier accommodations to get to within Bryson but if you want the views, this is the spot. Speaking of Bryson, wonderful, charming and welcoming town!

Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay and make recommendations for the future. We are glad to hear that your group had a great time in Bryson city and that your cabin views we welcoming. Roads around here can get steep and winding when you talk about having views. We will check out the phone issue right away, you are right about needing a phone if cell phones are not working properly, and Verizon is the best bet around here when it comes to cell service. Unfortunately we cannot list the address of the cabins online for safety and privacy reasons, but next year if your family will give us a call at our office we would be happy to find you five cabins that are near to each other, but make sure you call way in advance, booking five cabins close to each other during July could be tricky if you do not plan ahead. We are glad you liked Bryson City and all it had to offer, we hope to see you and your family again next reunion! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty
