“What started out great ended up not so great”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2014

Booked this cabin at the last minute (day before) so we got a great, great deal on it. Everything was wonderful -- the cabin, the view (absolutely lovely!), the hot tub, the cleanliness, coziness, etc. However, on the evening of arrival, the water pressure was weak and we realized it was getting weaker as the evening wore on. Then it dawned on us the next morning: we were actually running out of water. We contacted the emergency number (good to have), and they were very responsive and courteous. However, based on what was told to us and adding things up, someone must have known the water pipes had burst because the water was cut off to prevent constant running. Long story short, it took most of the day to get it fixed and water pressure to build back up, so that meant no bathing. There was a nice jetted tub, but because of water pressure it became impractical to use. The location is great and the road is a bit steep but how else do you get a great view like this? It was also the perfect cabin to have pets as the cabin was at the end of a road, and we had plenty of area to walk them and for us to get plenty of exercise. In all, I loved the cabin -- it could definitely use internet service and a TV for the bedroom. I would stay again.

Response from the manager Great! We are glad that we were able to find a place for you and your pets on such short notice. We are sorry about the water issue, but we just came out of a really cold spell for around here (0-10 degree lows for about two weeks) and we doubt that there were many houses that were not affected in some way. Thank you for calling the emergency number, that is what it is there for and we are glad that we could get everything working properly for the rest of your stay. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and we hope to see you stay here again soon! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Magnificent getaway for two or four people”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2013

You have total privacy, nice views and wildlife sounds. The building was warm and dry airwise, but there was a balancing act going on with the ac all the time due to curtain-/shadeless windows once the Sun had come up. The rooms were nice, but there was a big flaw of design of the stairs being right next to master bedroom and the front door, leaving you bruiced from hiting the stairs - head and ribs. The water had a very iron like smell. The waterheater is too small for the master tub to fill fully for nice hot bath. Light bulbs were missing here and there. Masterbedroom wood floor was very annoying with its squeaky noise. Noise you don't need during a vacation. The road to the cabin was very steep and narrow - not a problem for me, but for some sure is - especially after sunset, or during dark. Hot tub was nice once you figured out on your own how it really works. Would I come here again? sure, some other time. Our visit was in October during fall season. People love different things, so try it out!

Response from the manager Thank you for making note that people like different things and that interested visitors should try this cabin out for themselves before making an ultimate opinion. Many of the things that you listed may not affect different vacationers in the same way. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope to see you again the next time you are in the area! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“secluded and comfortable”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2013

We stayed 4 nights, wished we had more time. Super clean. Loved to sit on the porch at night and hear the frogs sing,or 1st thing in the morning wake to the clouds beneath us. Easy and clear instructions to find. Quiet and secluded though fairly close to town or nantahala outdoor center. We used the grill and hotub in the evenings. Plenty of activities as we love the outdoors. Will be back.

Response from the manager Awesome! We are glad you enjoyed you stay here and are planning on coming back already! This is a great cabin to feel like you have gotten away from it all, but still not so far away from town and fun activities that it feels like a chore to go anywhere. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and we will see you again soon! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“mountain view for physically challenged and everyone else”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2013

View Point is a great cabin for someone with physical challenges who still wants to be included in the mountain experience. Most mountain view cabins require a number of stairs at the entrance, or have sleeping/bathroom on a different level than living quarters. View Point has a short (I think 4 or 5) step staircase. The master bedroom and bath are on the same level with kitchen/dining/deck with hot tub and swing. The cabin is not wheelchair accessible, but it is appropriate for people who have knee or cardiac problems.

Response from the manager We are glad to hear that View Point cabin was a great choice for you and you family compared to other cabins with mountain views in the area. Thank you for taking the time to tell others about your stay and we hope to see you again soon. -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Absolutely gorgeous view & cozy cabin!”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2013

We had a great time in Bryson city...we enjoyed tubing at Deep Creek and white water river rafting at the NOC. Our cabin was very nice...very high up with a gorgeous view! We got a little turned around when we first arrived but Yellow Rose got us back on the right track. We loved the porch swing in the morning - couldn't stay out there for too long...lots of bees, mosquitoes & other critters. The hot tub was very nice, too. Cabin only had 1 tv so an extra one would have been good but not a big deal. We hope to come back!

Response from the manager It is great to heat that you really enjoyed your time in the Mountains, aren't they just amazing? Your cabin does have a gorgeous view and it is something that not every cabin has. However, we are sorry about the bees and bugs, it is hard to control nature sometimes though. Thank you for choosing Yellow Rose Realty and taking the time to leave a review. We hope to see you again soon for your next vacation in the Smokies! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Perfect!!”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2013

The location of this home provided an outstanding view. It was private, comfortable, clean, with such a beautiful wrap around deck. Directions were provided and allowed us to get to this delightful place easily. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our extended weekend visit. Thank you!!

Response from the manager Great! We are glad to hear that the directions are easy to follow and that you really enjoyed you cabin! We hope to see you again sometime soon, and thanks for the review! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Great view”

Reviewed 25 Jun 2013

The view was the best part of this vacation rental. The house itself could use some maintenance. The kitchen wasn't stocked as well as expected. The cookware needed updated because of scratching on surface, not enough dishcloths and could use more dishwasher tablets especially when your family is staying at least a week. I don't know if it is just the location of water flow, but if you took a bath instead of a shower the water was rusty looking and really left behind a residue. I would advise not to wash your clothes either because of this fact. The living room furniture was rather uncomfortable but arranged well for the outdoor views. I can understand not having curtains downstairs to be able to enjoy the views but I believe curtains should be on the bedroom windows to prevent some early morning sun to be able to sleep in. The wood floors needs some maintenance because of some buckling of boards. This is probably because of weather conditions. The view is definitely the best part of this rental but it was also located close enough to the attractions of Bryson City and Lake Fontana. As far as Yellow Rose Realty itself they seemed to not be available in person to talk to. In the day of computers I think the personal touch has been lost. No problems however on keys or codes to access the cabin. Just didn't have a one on one communication between company and the renter. Overall I think we will rent through Yellow Rose again but may investigate the property just a little bit more.

Response from the manager We are sorry to hear that View Point did not meet all of your expectations and we will relay your concerns to the owner of View Point Cabin. However, we hope you enjoyed your time in the mountains in and around Bryson City, NC and we hope to see you again soon! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Great Staff is priceless”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2013

After a mix up your staff jumped into action and on the spot was able to place us in a much better cabin selection than we ever expected. The cabin is correctly named "View Point". It is truly the mountain cabin experience. Good help is hard to find and you have found them.

Response from the manager Thanks you for the compliment! We are glad that we were able to help you and get your vacation under way without too much hassle. We hpe to see you again soon! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty
