“Cabin on the Creek”

Reviewed 11 Nov 2013

We give this property a low rating, not so much as the property is poor, but the service from Yellow Rose Realty is poor. The cabin itself was reasonably nice...very remote location and private. The issues we had with the realty company were not satisfactory. We rented the cabin a couple of months prior to going to the area, however the realty company failed to inform us of the fact that there was major road constuction that began approximately a month prior to our arrival on the only (one lane) gravel road that accessed the property. I called the realty company the day after we arrived and ask to speak to the rental property manager and was informed that she was out of the office right then. I left a message for her to return my call...which she never did. I spoke with some of the construction workers to find out the work had begun approximately a month prior to our arrival and would continue for a couple of months after. I feel the realty company should have informed us of the road conditions prior to us arriving. I know it is not their fault for the road construction, however I do feel they had an obligation to inform us of the conditions.

Response from the manager Gene, We are sorry that your stay at this cabin was defined by the road construction that we have no control over. However, we did return your phone call promptly, but we unfortunately did not have any other cabins to move you to because all of our cabins were full with other guests. The cabin is far enough away from the construction that we did not feel as though it would be a problem for anyone staying at this cabin, as it has not been for any of the other guests that have stayed here over the past month. Again, we are sorry that your view of our company was defined by the construction that was going on during your stay. The warm and cozy feel of the rich wood interior accompanied by the hot tub on the deck where you can relax and listen to the sound of the stream rush by is just some of the things that make this cabin great! Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your trip to the mountains. -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Great Location!”

Reviewed 7 Nov 2013

This was a great place for a romantic getaway! We loved the isolation, hot tub, porch swing, fireplace, and creek. However, the bed was not comfortable and needed to be replaced for a long time (as did the towels in the bathroom)! The toilet was also so old that it didn't operate as well as it should have. The television was also old and very small (and needed to be updated for quite a while). There also was no internet service which was strange given that the house had cable. Overall it was an great experience because we made it that way and we would return if updates were made! The management company was great! We had no issues with that part at all! Would definitely rent from the agency again!!

Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we will be sure that your comments/recommendations are relayed to the owner of this rental property. We are happy to hear that our customer service was great and that you plan on renting from us again in the future. - The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Just what the doctor ordered!”

Choosing a vacation property online is nerve-racking. It's hard to make a commitment sight unseen. Upon arrival, we realized we had made a great choice. We stopped at the grocery store in Bryson City and loaded up for the weekend. The house has a simple layout but is perfect for two. We spent most of our time playing in the creek during the day and after supper, we relaxed in the hot tub. The staff at Yellow Rose Realty was very friendly when booking this rental. The property is secluded but only a few minutes from Cherokee and Bryson City. The only thing I could recommend is that the property owners invest in a new grill if they keep that listed as an amenity. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this rental.

Response from the manager Thank you for taking the leap and choosing to stay in a vacation rental that you have never been to before. We are glad that the cabin fit your needs perfectly and we hope that you will choose it again in the near future. We will inform the owner about your recommendations for the grill. We hope to see you soon! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Beautiful location, remote and romantic”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2013

Realtor easy to deal with. Gravel road is 5 1/2 minutes drive from paved road. Problem was we checked in on a Friday evening so called on Saturday & left a message with few minor maintenance issues (light bulbs, no pot holders) and could not get TV satellite box to work. No return call on our cell phone and when we returned for the day, still no TV. Sunday office closed, left another message. Third night of very bad & outdated Dvds. Location wonderful, home nice, large hot tub great, washer & dryer great to have, mismatched dishes, etc. okay. Very disappointed not to have TV for 3 days. My suggestion would be for the realtors to call renter's cell phone the day after check-in to make sure all is okay. Or tell us on a weekend to leave a message on the emergency line if there's a serious concern. Tv is old and needs to be replaced with a flat screen, but box was the problem.

Response from the manager Sorry for the issues that you had at the cabin and thank you fro the feedback about what would make things easier in the future. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay and we hope to see you again sometime soon. -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“My most favorite cabin!”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2013

We love this cabin! This was our third time staying there. It has everything-creek, fire pit, grill, porch swing, and several picnic spots to choose from. Plus beautiful landscaping. We've never gotten around to trying out the hot tub but it looks fine. I travel with two daughters and although it is private, it is not so remote that we aren't comfortable without Dad coming along. Access may be a little difficult for some vehicles, my Mustang makes it up there with no problems. A tree fell across the road during our last visit and that is how we met some of the friendly neighbors. The people at Yellow Rose are wonderful to work with. They didn't laugh either time the keys were locked in the cabin by a helpful child, just handed me another one. We like to drive the Tail of the Dragon on the way to Cades Cove and spend a lot of time in the Park. It is conveniently located for all the places we like to go. The only negative we can think of is you may need to take an extension cord because the outlet in the bathroom is too far from the mirror for the flat-iron cord to reach. Also, a mirror upstairs would be nice. To me, those are really no big deal. What we like least is never having enough time there. We have very tight summer schedules so I've told all the friends and family I will tell them how to rent it on the condition they not rent it if it's a time I can go. My dream would be to rent it for the entire summer!

Response from the manager This is awesome! We love hearing about our customers who have found a cabin that they have fallen in love with and they continue to return to it year after year. We are glad Cabin on the Creek is the cabin that you like to call your own in the mountains and we were happy to help get your house unlocked for you, things happen! We hear your concerns about the Flat Iron and mirror upstairs, we will let the owner of the cabin know, some things you really don't pick up on until you stay there. Thank you for spreading the word to all of your friends and we hope to see you and your family again sometime soon! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Quaint little cabin in the woods.”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2013

Compared to other cabins in the area, this cabin is a little harder to get to. It rained most of the time we were there, so we didn't get to enjoy the hot tub as much as we wanted to. Upon check-in, we noticed that the place had not been swept up in some time. However the management responded and someone came right away to clean things up a bit. The loft bed was not the best, always having to duck our heads to get in and out; the refrigerator needs replaced immediately, the bathroom didn't have enough lighting to see to get ready; and didn't really enjoy having the washer and dryer outside of the cabin; since it rained it was a little inconvenient doing our laundry. I would not book this particular cabin again, however the realty company was very nice and accommodating. You live and learn.

Response from the manager We are glad to hear that your overall experience with Yellow Rose Realty and that you understand that we have many different cabins and some are better suited for some renters and others are not. All of our cabins have many different things to offer each guest and we hope that next time you come give us a call, way in advance and we will help you find the perfect place! Sorry about the rain, it is unusual for us to have that mush this time of year. We will inform the owner of the cabin of the issues that you saw today. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay and we hope to see you again soon! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty

“Awesome Getaway”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2013

The staff went above and beyond in order to find us a last-minute, nice place to stay at a cost efficient price. The cabin was in a satisfactory condition and the sound of the creek was the most relaxing either of us had ever experienced. The only downside was there were no restaurants nearby. I will defiantly consider the Yellow Rose Realty Company for all of my mountain escapes.

Response from the manager We are glad that we were able to help you find a cabin last-minute and that you enjoyed your stay. Sorry about there not being any restaurants nearby, but out here in the beautiful mountains it is hard to get everything close by and be tucked away in nature at the same time. It is awesome to hear that we will be assisting you in the future on any of your other mountain escapes! -The Team at Yellow Rose Realty
