- Very Good
We loved the size of bedrooms and private baths. The layout of the family area was good, but a little small for number of rooms. The game room was tiny and did not match up with the picture, but was fun to have.Blinds on the east and west facing windows would be good, and the pub chairs on the deck aren't really suited to lounging, more for partying. The grill worked very well, and the walk to the beach is a short one. Internet access was easy and nice to have, and we really appreciated the ice cream cake, especially the kids.
“A pretty place...a beautiful spot...blessed.”
Enjoyed Beach Place---there were just few things showing some "wear and tear" here and there, but overall very nice.
“Amazing, even with Earl.”
What a beautiful home! This house wass wonderful for our extended family vacation. We have stayed in this house twice now, in april 2009 and august 2010. The layout is wonderful! With the "toys" on the lowest level it's great in the evening for the kids to go downstairs and have their own area to hang out play pool or ping pong. I myself loved the safety of the high latch on the gate around the pool, easily reached for an adult and impossible for the kids. The kitchen is large enough to cook for a family of 20 and small enough that you can get to things as you need them quick and easy. It's nice that there are 2 "family friendly" rooms on the main level. Makes it easier for a quick diaper change (or a "time out" lol). I also can't say enough about the staff at Shorewood, the smiling helpful faces of everyone you come in contact with is incredibly comforting. We were evacuated this year when Earl hit the outer banks and when we arrived at the office to turn our keys in they were almost as disappointed as we were! Lol Just such kind people and so organized. When we arrived to return our keys they had all the needed paper work for the rental insurance claim waiting for us. Obviously I can't say enough wonderful things, if you are searching for a place for your family to come and stay for a relaxing week at the beach, your search is over.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach House. This is our second time we stay there. We really enjoyed the pool too..
“Everyone had a wonderful and relaxing vacation at Beach Place”
This house is incredibly nice. It is a sound, quality construction of a fantastic Oceanfront floor plan. It was very clean, with comfortable furniture, room to room DVD TV, excellent and abundant appliances inside and out. The house sits high up which provides excellent views for miles up and down the beach. The 2 large shady decks are well constructed and provide great views overlooking the swimming pool and out to the ocean. There were several deck tables, stools and poolside furniture available for our group of 13. The walk way decking to the sandy beach is very short, about 40 ft. and had a short water hose for rinsing off at a convenient location. The beach area is very large and the shells (for us anyway in mid June) were overly abundant and colorful. The house location on Emerald Isle is good. You are close to a small convenient store, as well as Water Sport Rentals and restaurants
“Clean and beautiful”
We loved this home. It is so close to the ocean and the house is beautiful. The decorations were great and the house is really clean and easy to get in and out. Highly recommended.
We had four families that visited Emerald Isle for the first time this year. This house was in a great location and well stocked with everything we needed. This group has rented houses in the Outer Banks severals years and everyone commented on how well built Beach Place was. We loved how it was situated on the dunes and there was plenty of room for 18 (8 adults, 10 kids)people. Absolutely loved it and would rent again.
“Excellent furnishings and bedrooms”
The bedrooms were great... everyone was spacious and had its own bathroom. The furnishings were the nicest we have seen. Would highly recommend!
“Beautiful beach house”
WE had a great experience at Beach Place. The house is beautiful and spacious. The beach access is great and the pool looked very nice (unfortunately it was too cold to use). I would highly recommend this rental for larger families or groups of friends.
“Best place we've rented”
This was our second year renting this great home. Everything was so clean, and it is great to come into a place and the beds already be made. The staff at the office were great to work with, and when I walked in this year, the lady behind the counter remembered me before I even told her my name. This is my brother's second vacation with the family, as he flies in from California, and the lady also remembered him and remembered what shirt he had on last year. We love the fact that each bedroom has it's own bathroom, and the half bath also came in handy. The colors are great, both beachy and calming. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are all fairly soundproof. Sitting on either the upper or lower deck to watch the ocean, boats, birds, pelicans, and dolphins is great. We utilize the swimming pool (never thinking we would ever use it from previous 11 vacation homes without). But, when the fish aren't biting so well, and it is still 80-85 degrees in the middle to end of September, well, the pool is great. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots, and pans, but I do bring my own electric fry pan since we have so many people staying at the house. We always cook breakfast, and this year, due to the economy, we cooked more suppers at the house. Loved the ice cream cake in the freezer.Location is great, and there are good restaurants in the Emerald Isle town proper. We love to walk Bogue Inlet Pier after eating at Jordan's, Flippers, RJ Ruckers, and Bushwackers, etc. Shopping is also great at the shopping center, and with Food Lion being right there, we don't have to pack any foods to bring with us. There are miniature golf places, bumper boats, go carts, batting cages, golf driving range and courses, movie theater, water park, and other children's arcade and rides close by. The only problem we had is last year, the kitchen towels and washcloths were not there at first, but delivered with no problems. This year the dryer needed to be fixed.
