“excellant but pricy”
well located and easy access to the Vaporatto. We shall recommend friends and family the accomodation. The only problem was that during departure we could not contact anyone to hand over the keys. Thanks.
Response from the manager Ciao bookworm Thank you so much for staying with us and for writing in - I’m delighted you liked the apartment but sorry about the situation on departure. As punctuality is so vitally important (particularly as our clients’ onward travel plans and itineraries are very often time-sensitive) we always try our absolute best to always be on time and to keep in touch. Unfortunately on this occasion our representative had been unavoidably held up, arriving 15 minutes late - please accept our apologies for this, I very much hope it didn’t cause you too much inconvenience at the time. Wishing you all the very best from the team here in Venice and very much hope that we see you again. Ciao e Grazie Filippo, Views on Venice
“A beautiful apartment”
Ca'Carmini is a beautifully decorated apartment with two large sitting rooms and a large bedroom. It is full of books and very comfortable it is close to restaurants, shops and the Billa supermarket.
Response from the manager A pleasure to have had you stay David and thanks very much for your positive words. We’d be delighted to welcome you back anytime and with all the best from everyone at VOV. Arrivederci Filippo, Views on Venice
“Elegance and calm in the heart of Venice”
Nice little house with its own garden leading onto a shared courtyard with a huge front gate onto a canal. Nicely situated; you can walk anywhere from here. The upstairs living room is really classy as the owner has left a lot of architectural and design books, mostly in French, so it feels like staying in a friend's house. The only downside I suppose is a small kitchen and no real dining table. We made a temporary table for four in the entrance hall, which was OK for us. Views on Venice people were friendly and efficient, so all in all it was a great holiday.
Response from the manager
Dear Mr Adam
Thank you so much for your review of Ca' Carmini, one of our most popular apartments in Dorsoduro - we're really happy that you found it a convenient base for exploring the city and that you enjoyed the homely ambiance of the apartment. We do hope to see you in Venice again soon and thank you for choosing us for your holiday.
Ciao e Grazie.
Filippo, Views on Venice.
*Update - I am now pleased to advise that in response to client feedback, we have now installed a dining table with seating for 4 within the downstairs living/dining room so that guests may enjoy greater comfort when dining within the apartment itself, while also having the option of dining 'al fresco' in the private garden when the weather's fine - With Best Wishes, Filippo.
“A perfect corner of Venice”
This very elegant and yet cozy duplex apartment was a wonderful home base for our week in Venice. For two people it was extremely spacious; it was quite a luxury to have two living rooms and two bathrooms plus a private garden. It was extraordinarily quiet and very, very comfortable, with plenty of linens and dishes, etc. Our only caveat: In contrast to the apartment's overall size, the kitchen, though functional, is very small, and there is no dining area per se. So people who cook a lot (or mostly eat at home) might prefer a different property with bona fide kitchen/dining facilities. We did find a wooden gate-leg table folded up against the wall, which we set up one evening in the downstairs living room for dinner. Otherwise, the only options are to sit on a sofa and eat at a coffee table in one of the two living rooms, or sit outside in the garden at the wrought- iron table. Which is quite lovely (and special -- your own private al fresco dining experience in Venice!), but not always possible if the weather is bad. However, this is likely a minor issue for most people who eat out while on vacation. The absolute tipping point? The location of this apartment is simply perfect. It is very easy to access key places in Venice from here: the Grand Canal, the train station, the Zattere, the Rialto, scores of restaurants and shops, the Accademia and Guggenheim, etc. Plus, Campo Santa Margherita is literally "right around the corner" with a grocery store, restaurants, pizzerias, and more. In the end, the small kitchen is a tiny price to pay for a HUGE payoff in this fantastic sestiere. The service of Views on Venice was commendable and we would say with them again with no hesitation. The prearranged water taxi service from the airport was worth every Euro!
