“Beautiful apartment on the river with extraordinary views of Florence.”

Reviewed 28 May 2015

We really enjoyed staying here and dealing with Agnese who is very sweet and accommodating of us. Even though it is on the "other" side of the river, walking distances were not bad to the major sites. Plus, we saw some cool things on the "other" side of the river as well. Having a balcony to sit out in the evening was great.

Response from the manager Grazie mille for your positive review on our Cestello' s Terrace and kind word on our staff. The apartment as you mentioned is in the ancient Oltrarno area, rich in history and still today home of the best lorentine craftsmen. Yet you are at only a short distance from the spectacular landmarks of the city. We are pleased you enjoyed the apartment and its spectacular balcony! “Excellent Location but not comfortable for a stay of 18 days”

Reviewed 16 Nov 2013

Apt looked much better in pictures. Balcony was the best feature and had an excellent view. Excellent location. Extremely noisy!!! Traffic was constant and the ambulance dispatch was a few doors away so sirens were constant, day and night. Apt was not well stocked with items such as toilet paper or dish soap. Signora was late meeting us for check in and spent all her time on her cell phone. She never showed on our last day as arranged for the final meter reading. She never gave any explanation as to garbage disposal, or the various workings in the kitchen. Light bulbs were burnt out in lamps and in the stairwell. No one from the agency or Signora herself ever inquired how we were doing. Bed was comfortable but pillows were poor quality and not enough of them. Towels were poor. Kitchen was functional but bathroom was below standard. Shower stall was tiny, grungy and in great need of updating. Livingroom couch is falling apart. Would be reluctant to recommend for more than a few days.

“Outstanding view”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2013

Very rustic apartment with a fabulous view from a small balcony although at times a little noisy. Apartment was comfortable and well equipped but bathroom rather small with a new shower required. Check in was simple although the 2 phone numbers given didn't work. Luckily the cleaner was at the apartment who then gave us the correct phone number. Be aware there are about 6 flights of stairs to climb, not an issue but with suitcases was difficult

“Small but well located with views of the arno from the small but”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2013

This lovely little spot was perfect for my stay. The apartment is small but I gather this is usual in Florence. it would suit a couple or a single visitor well. i used the terrace constantly as it was hot during my stay and the views of the arno at sunset were lovely. It was just lovely to take my morning coffee (pot and coffee provided)or evening vino here with some local bread, sausage and tomatoes and watch Florence go about its business. Everything is within easy walking distance including the train station and maps and ample suggestions for your visit are provided. The area is very safe and not too touristy which I really enjoyed. it was lovely to buy produce from local shop keepers and live like a local. There is a small kitchenette but no real cooking facilities so this is probably only suitable for a short stay - I stayed 3 nights. However there are ample eating options nearby and plenty of local fruiterers, small goods and trattoria, I am still dreaming about the garlicky local sausage I bought here. there is no elevator so you need to be able to climb 3-4 flights of steps. not a problem for me. The apartment is beautifully furnished and very traditional however the air conditioning didnt work particularly well. A lovely breeze came through the shutters at night due to its elevated position on the river. There is quite a lot of noise from the traffic and sirens from the nearby hospital and police station - double glazed windows are very effective but the noise is noticeable if these are open. The apartment could use a little maintenance, the shower is old and leaks a little (not a problem) and, as i said, the a/c wasnt working in aug 2013. however there is a washing machine which is great if you are travelling and really everything you could need for a short stay. The wifi worked very well throughout the apartment as well

“wonderfull stay”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2013

The apartment was in a perfect location. A 15 minute walk to the downtown Florence. It was in a quite section yet it was a 10 minute walk to the bus or train station. The view was fantastic unbelievably great. The check in was flawless and included a quick run down of tourist sites and restaurants. The only draw back was that the apartment was on the third floor. However this only improved the view. I would rent the apartment again in a heart beat. Great value great view, and great location great service great price.

“Fantastic apartment in a fantastic location!”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2013

We absolutely loved staying in this apartment. It was well equipped with all the essentials. The owner makes her own toiletries using local olive oil which were lovely. The bed was super comfy and the style was gorgeous 'Old Florence'. The location is ideal for exploring the city. There are some fantastic bars and restaurants in the vicinity. It feels very safe in the area too. The piece de resistance however, has to be the balcony. We spent so much time on the balcony, eating, drinking, admiring the view and watching the world go by. You get a great vista of the river, the top of the Duomo and The Ponte Vecchio. I must also mention the team at apartments Florence. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Extremely accommodating and professional. I will definitely be recommending this apartment and this company, and we will definitely use them again next time we are in Florence.

“An excellent location while touring Florence”

Reviewed 16 Dec 2012

An excellent, quiet location while touring Florence. The view from the balcony is better than the picture on the website. We ate on the balcony every time we ate in the apartment. It is shaded at lunchtime and in the sun in the evening. This side of the arno is much quieter and the apartment is about half a mile from the main tourist sites. The kitchen is adequately equipped. The apartment has a large double bedroom with aC and a loft with a single bed above the sitting room which also has aC. Downsides were the heat in august on the top floor, narrow stairs and no lift and there was a 50% premium on electricity rates (written in the contract) over normal rates, which made a week's aC quite expensive.
