“Relaxing time at one of our favorite places”

The place was great. Super clean and just what we needed for a relaxing three day get-away. We will be back

“Great Get-away Cottage”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2015

I was looking for a place to relax and enjoy a change of scenery and cooler temperatures. I found what I was looking for in the Lark cabin in Flat Rock. I was joined at various times by family nd friends and they too enjoyed the comfortable cabin and the porch. We cooked out on the grill, enjoyed hot dogs over the fire pit and the grandchildren loved feeding the goats. The cabin was so convenient to Hendersonville and the little village of Flat Rock. We strolled the area around the cabin and hiked nearby trails. It was nice to have grocery stores, drugstores, restaurants. etc. nearby.

“Wonderful stay!”

I stayed at The Lark cottage for a week in March. The weather was cool but the cottage was warm and cozy. The furniture was comfortable as we're the beds. It is a well appointed cottage. The scenery is beautiful. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be in the summer. I look forward to coming back soon.

“So easy”

Modern and clean facilities make everything so pleasant. The house was perfect for our needs (family of 5 with three kids under the age of 5). The porch was a great extra "room" to have some separation and the sheep and goats kept the kids entertained all day long. We loved walking the property, very well kept and we had fun seeing the chicken coops and lake. Be aware that they have done a great job keeping the houses in a natural setting, so you might have some muddy shoes; we just kept ours on the front porch. You will love it!

“A nice and quiet get away.”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2013

The house was beautifully decorated with everything needed for our stay. We enjoyed walking to the lake and visiting the goats. There were a couple things not to our liking. One was the view from our back door. The pasture with the goats was enjoyable but not the old building with many cars parked by it. Another issue was that the guest bedroom did not have a remote for the TV and was brought to the attention of management. To his credit he did bring us one the next day but did not program it or let us know the instructions were left in the dresser drawer.

“Beautiful place!”

We really enjoyed staying on Highland Lake! It is so peaceful and everything was beautiful!

“Awesome and then some!”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2011

This was our second visit to the Highland Lake Properties and once again a real treat. This stay was especially memorable as it was our anniversary, we had rented another property in another location that proved to be unsatisfactory and Steve came to the rescue!!! The Lark is the perfect place for a couple or family. Has all amenities, great view, great porch and great location. We will definitely be back for a longer stay. Steve, you are the man!!!

“Sweet & Balsam!”

Reviewed 15 Jun 2011

The accomodations and setting were wonderful for a family vacation. The cottage was modern, stylish, and very comfortable. The location gave us easy access to the Pisgah National Forest, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Hendersonville. My only criticism is that the porch area badly needed sweeping and cleaning. There was a great deal of dust and pollen all over the porch furniture which kept us from fully utilizing this area. Someone should have checked that before we occupied the cottage. Otherwise, we would gladly like to return to this vacation spot.
