“A tranquil haven on the dramatic Amalfi Coast”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2013

Arriving to the Villa was quite a stressful experience due to the road. However the moment we pulled up at the villa (well at the top of the stairs to be exact) the stress disappeared. Victor was waiting to bring all the bags down and he lead the way. Once we arrived at the villa gates, you are immediately drawn to the spectacular view. The villa manger Annalisa was also waiting to welcome us. She is a lovely young woman with all the charm and warmth one expects from the Italians. She explained clearly how everything worked and was available anytime to assist. The villa itself is well arranged with indoor/outdoor living arrangements. As the weather was so fine, we ate outside. Most of the days spent down by the sea side. The children jumping into the sea from the jetty. We also ventured out by boat on several occasions ( Annalisa arranged these for us) The whole time spent at the villa was relaxing and great fun. We were 2 families with older children and teenagers - Dayle P., ,

“Our Stay at Villa Simona”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2011

Villa Santa Maria (Villa Simona) was simply beautiful. In person, the house, the views, the outdoor \"enjoyment\" spaces were far better than the pictures on the website. The villa was tastefully furnished with all the amenities we needed. The details of automatic lights, the professional chef\'s kitchen, the daily grocery delivery and most importantly the wonderful staff - including Cristina - added up to the best holiday each of us has ever enjoyed. A definite highlight was the private beach and the boat dock (where our private yacht was able to pick us up directly). The only negative (which is tough to overcome) were all of the outdoor ants. We could not sit on the lounge chairs for very long without having ants crawling all over.

The villa was absolutely stunning, both inside and the grounds. It is in clean and well maintained and the staff was wonderful. The location was also great as it allowed us to get away from the crowds of tourists and really enjoy being outside and on the sea (and also get picked up and dropped off there instead of in town, which was convenient). The private access to the sea was wonderful and the set up of the villa allowed us to enjoy spending time in the evenings cooking and eating together as a group outside overlooking the sea. And given the luxury of the accommodations as well as the privacy and quiet it provides, it is actually a decent value for your money for that particular location, providing you are able to afford it. The only drawback is that it is a bit of an unpleasant walk to town on the busy road and grocery shopping is a bit of a pain if you want to go get it yourself, but that\'s more a factor of the whole coastal road and the crowds and not the villa itself.

Our Villa specialist and concierge specialist were so helpful in planning our trip and the Villa itself was true luxury. Words could not begin to express the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. The people were friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing and the beauty of land itself was like nothing else i have ever seen. if we could, we would go back every year!

Only issue was feeling we were overcharged for an item that was broken. Other than that everything was wonderful and handled very well.
