“Sanibel vacation 2015”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2015

We decided to rent at Mariners Pointe because we hoped that our 16 year old "fisherman" son would love the pier. Indeed, he was waking up at 5:30 am and sometimes fish until 1:00 am! I cooked some of his catch; two red snappers in lovely kitchen. It was great opening door and having pier and view of San Carlos Bay. The condo was very clean and comfortable. Although, we had only two full sunny days out of seven, my husband and I rented bikes at Billy's and rode to Light House beach. If you are renting bikes, make sure you rent for at least three days as they will deliver bikes. Billy's is less than mile away. We walked in the rain to nearby Bailey's Beach Park on other side of causeway and walked back via narrow beach under causeway. Of course, we ate at our usual stand by "Island Cow". We all enjoyed Chee Burger CheeBurger. Loads of fun moments on this Sanibel vacation! Thanks for sharing your unit.

Response from the manager Thank you so much for your comments - we are happy you enjoyed your stay at Mariner Pointe! We agree, the fishing is wonderful and this condo is the perfect place to stay if you want to fish all day long! Be sure to call Island Vacations when you're ready to return to our beautiful island!

“Great location, great condo”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2015

My husband and I have vacationed in Sanibel many times over the years but this is the first for us at Marina :Pointe. We enjoyed the condo, especially the location, and found it to be beautiful, clean, and relaxing. Every day brought a new show out the windows with the activities on the fishing pier, the boats going by and kayak and paddle board groups. It was one of the quietest places we've been to on the island and very convenient to restaurants and shopping. The condo is nicely furnished but the only problems we found were with the verticals in the bedroom and the curtains in the living room which showed some wear but certainly not a deal breaker. We would definitely return as this has become one of our favorite condos on the island.

Response from the manager So glad you enjoyed your visit to Mariner Pointe and we look forward to your return!

“Two week rental”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2014

Stayed for 2 weeks with family. Great view from the living overlooking bay. That was the only good thing about the stay. Owner has not updated the place in over 10 years+. We tried to use the kitchen but the owner only had items he must have bought at a garage sale. Large master bedroom with 12 inch tv in the corner. Couldnt really see it from the bed. Place was very antiquated. We brought it up to the rental agency but they told me they addressed it with the owner but he fails to do anything. Owner needs to put some time into the place to make it worth a stay.

Response from the manager We have passed your comments on to the owner. We hope you'll come back to Sanibel and we are happy to find you more suitable accommodations. Thank you.

My wife and I have been coming to Sanibel for 12yrs. We usually stay at Mariner's Point. Overall 231 is a nice unit. The TV kept losing its picture to a 'video' setting. Pantry door would not stay on its track, and the drawer over the trash can would not stay on its track. A cutting board for the kitchen, and a few more knives would be a good addition. A larger TV in the bedroom would be a nice addition as well. We did enjoy the stay.

Response from the manager Thank you for your comments - we've passed them on to the owner. They will address your concerns for future guests! Thanks again!

“Perfect location!”

Reviewed 23 Feb 2014

This condo has the most perfect view of the causeway, fishing pier, and boats leaving and coming. So much to watch all day long. It is conveniently located right off the causeway. If arriving after dark, it is quite difficult to find the unit as there is no lighting anywhere. The unit itself is nice enough. Updates could be done with newer Tv's and recliner couches. The kitchen was ok, but disappointed there were no condiments, or even salt and pepper, which have usually been available at other rentals we've stayed at.Otherwise the unit is very accommodating. The boardwalk is fabulous and so much to see everyday. Plenty of easy walking! No problems reserving, getting the keys or returning. Everything was smooth going and we had no problems. Sanibel is a great location for a relaxing vacation.

Response from the manager For someone who loves to fish, or look over the causeway and watch both birds and boaters, this is a perfect spot. We are sorry you expected condiments, but the State Law does not allow us to keep salt and pepper in the units. Perhaps other rental agents are not aware of this. We are very happy you still enjoyed your vacation! Island Vacations

“Not much change since the 80's”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2013

This unit is in desperate need of a makeover say no more! If you are able to slide the heavy old patio doors open you can get out to the grounds and pier. The view is of the pier and everyone on it staring back at you. On a positive note the grounds are well kept and the pool is around the corner from the unit which was well maintained. Don't plan on using the gas Bbq's as shown in the pics as the fire marshall has removed them and substituted 2 useless electric ones. Rent #232 or #234 they are beautiful.

Response from the manager Thank you for your comments. Please remember we also manage #1022, #1032, #1042 and #131. We'd love to have you return to Island Vacations and one of our beautiful, Mariner Pointe condos! Most sincerely, Fran Peters

Beautiful view out of back of condo, rear sliding doors were really hard to open. Mattresses on twin beds were bad, need replaced. Also unit needs ceiling fans, air conditioning had trouble keeping up. If these repairs were made I would have given it 5 stars. Jack W. Tharp

Response from the manager Hi Jack, We have forwarded your comments to the owner of #231 with the suggestion they purchase new twin mattresses and fix the sliding glass door. Thank you for taking the time to make comments. Sincerely, Fran Peters, owner, Island Vacations
