“Unencumbered Gulf View”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2014

This condo has a fair price and a wonderful, unrestricted view of the beach and he gulf which is just a few feet from the building. The rooms are well decorated and have ample furniture. There is even a tall wooden table and four tall chairs the balcony making it a great place to eat and watch the water. One morning during our stay, we saw dolphins play in the water as we ate breakfast on the balcony. The Wi-Fi was strong enough and fast enough to allow us to hook up our ROKU, and stream Netflix movies. The property is conveniently located with a CVS, Publix, Winn Dixie and Ace Hardware within two miles of the building and a Wal-Mart less than eight miles away. Orange Beach, AL and Gulf Shores, AL (with its huge outlet mall) were about 20 minutes west of the property. All in all this is a good place to stay and we are likely to return there. As with anything, there are some things that could have been better. Even though the appliances were like new and the dishes are nice, the kitchen cabinets are freshly painted yet old 1970’s vintage particle board construction. Some of the doors sagged, some did not match up and the oven door had to be opened about half-way to get one of the utensil drawers open. The largest cabinet had two old telephones and some pieces of another cabinet stored in it along with the trash can. It would have been nice to have used the large cabinet as a pantry but there was not enough shelf space. Even though there was great water pressure throughout the condo, the sprayer on the kitchen sink barely flowed and the tubing was not flexible. We opined that maintenance cut a corner and did not use the correct tubing for the job. Last, we had a hard time opening the huge sliding glass door to the balcony. We used some dry lube top and bottom and got it freed up. We want it noted that none of the previous paragraphs would be a deal breaker for our return when we go back next time. It is obvious from the furnishings, and the wall mural, the owner is dedicated providing a pleasant stay. We did!!! We suggest Fisherman’s Corner (Perdido—Buffalo Chicken Sandwich), Sunset Grill (Perdido) and McGuire’s Irish Pub (Pensacola and Destin---Sheep Herder’s Pie and Reuben Eggrolls)

“Great experience”

Reviewed 27 Feb 2009

My wife and I stayed at the property for 3 days/nights. The place was clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the balcony and view of the beach and sunsets. The covered and heated pool was nice to have at the time of year that we stayed there.

“New Years on the beach!”

Reviewed 27 Feb 2009

Who says you can't go to the beach in the winter??? It was beautiful and the accomodations were outstanding. I was fortuante to hit 70 degree days so the beach was perfect. The indoor pool was relaxing and the quiet atmosphere at Perdido Sun was wonderful. I'll do it again next year! Great place to stay with wonderful people around to help.
