Very Good

“Nice Condo on the Tigertail Lagoon”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2017

We stayed a week in March. The condo The condo is newly renovated which is nice. The master looks out onto the lagoon, ocean and pool. 2nd bedroom over looks the city. Beds were pretty comfortable. The condo was not super clean when we arrived. Didn't seem like the floors were swept and there was quite a bit of scum and hair in the shower. But overlooking that, the condo was nicely furnished and had a kitchen that had most of the things I needed. The beach seemed like it is right there from the balcony, but it really takes about 15 minutes to walk, while carrying all our beach stuff, it was a chore... Once there, the beach was nice and we saw dolphins after 10 minutes of sitting there. If you are into shelling, you will have a wonderful time waking up early and finding some great shells. You will have to walk another 20 minutes or so down the beach to get to some good shelling sands. Way better than Sanibel Island! The lagoon was nice to look at I guess, but there was no view of the ocean if you used the "beach" there. Sand was mucky there as well. The pool on site was okay... It is heated, but I found the water to be WAY too warm for the 80° weather. It was like sitting in a warm bath. There is no hot tub. This is a community of older people, there are a lot of rules to be followed. If you have kids, maybe not the place for you... I saw a bunch of young people abs kids get asked to leave the pool because of having a little fun. It didn't bother me at all, so think they just want quiet. Lots of odd association rules. The island itself has a large old population and there isn't much for activities near by. Most places close at 10pm or earlier. The island does have some great restaurants and servers though! Again, the condo is nice and the beach is nice. We had a nice time, but I think you need to be a certain kind of person to have a good time here.

Response from the manager Thank you kindly for your detailed and informative review. First, our most sincere apologies the cleaning was not up to par, this busy time of year things are missed, though that is no excuse. In regards to the walk, we try to warn our guests that there is a bit of walk to the wide part of the beach with the nice sand. Once there I would say it is worth the walk! We have alternate condos in our inventory which are a direct walk out to the beach, but of course with that comes a higher price tag. The pools are heated which most people find enjoyable, but perhaps the week you visited was warmer. We are glad you enjoyed the local restaurants and servers, we joke that Marco midnight is 9pm so perhaps not quite the place for younger adults or people who enjoy a little night life. That being said there are a few places which offer a late-night atmosphere you just have to ask the locals where they are. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. Kindly, Century 21 Rental Team
