“Wrongly accused”

This house was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. However, my son broke out in a rash from something in the house. We suspect cat hair because the house had a lot of it on the bed and carpets. There was an odd smell in the garage. It was later determined to be a type of rodent causing the smell. The DVD player also broke with one of our movies in it and it was never retrieved by the rental company. Despite the issues, we were looking forward to staying there again. When we called to book it, we were informed that we were "banned" because the owner got reports that we partied all night and made a disruption. I am retired from law enforcement, my wife is a retired school teacher, and my son and daughter-in-law are both teachers with two small children under the age of six years old. We were very upset to hear that they accused us of this. In fact, we were typically in bed by 9:00. Even after discussing the situation and explaining that we were not the "party animals" that the owner should be banning, we realized that they had made their decision. It is a shame and disturbing to be wrongly accused. Needless to say, we will be staying elsewhere.

Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback, I have shared with the group here as well as forwarded onto the owners. We want to learn from our mistakes. We suspected the rash was a reaction from the laundry detergent used by the cleaners. As far as a pet, the unit doesn't accept pets. It is possible the previous tenant had a pet or snuck one into the unit while they were there. The DVD was stuck in the DVD unit and when opened was too damaged, it wasn't able to salvage. We apologize for not letting you know. As far as being "banned" it is per the owners request. The neighbors provided details and feedback to the owners that lead them to this decision. We manage the property for the owners and are responsible to following their requests. We are very sorry for the experience. It appears that one thing, and another can really add up and can ruin the experience. If you would ever give us another chance, to find you another unit please don't hesitate to ask.
