Cayman Sands is an oceanfront villa in Old Man Bay along the north coast. This popular villa is one of only 2-3 homes that offer shore scuba-diving off the famous Cayman Wall. With an open, one-story design, Cayman Sands offers guests an intimate experience across 4,000 sq ft. of living space, plus a one bedroom guest cottage.

The main house features 4 bedroom suites (king, queen, 2 twin beds, and 4 bunk beds) with ensuite baths that have been completely re-tiled and renovated. For parties with more than 4 adult guests, the 2 twin beds can be converted to a king upon request. Both oceanfront suites have french doors that open up onto the screened pool atrium and sun deck. Cayman Sands was thoughtfully designed to be opened up on cool winter nights when A/C isn't necessary.

The oceanfront freshwater pool is protected by a screened atrium keeping local wildlife and insects at bay from ruining your stay. Optional pool heat is available in the winter months for an additional surcharge. The pool atrium comes furnished with a sectional sofa and dining table perfect for evening cocktails or outdoor dining.

The view of the large sandy beach is framed by the two wings of the house, an oceanfront gazebo, and two hammocks ideal for long afternoons relaxing with a book or simply enjoying the views.

An oceanfront vaulted great room floods the villa with natural light and stunning views through 30 feet of sliding glass doors. A recently upgraded kitchen offers all the modern appliances you would expect, as well as dishware, cookware, and cutlery. The living area is furnished with a wall-mounted flat screen TV, plush couches, and a sleeper sofa for small children only.

-- Master Suite: oceanfront, king bed, desk, ensuite bath with a walk-in shower, two sets of french doors that open up onto the screened pool atrium and sun deck.

-- Queen Suite: oceanfront, queen bed, desk, ensuite bath with a walk-in shower, two sets of french doors that open up onto the screened pool atrium and sun deck.

-- Twin Suite: garden views, 2 twin beds (can be converted into a king bed upon request), ensuite bath with a combination tub/shower.

-- Bunk Bed Suite: garden views, 2 sets of bunk beds, ensuite bath with a combination tub/shower.

-- Queen Guest Cottage: detatched cottage, queen bed, kitchenette, TV, screened porch, second-story balcony, ensuite bath with a walk-in shower. The guest cottage is NEVER rented separately to unrelated guests during your stay--it is there if you need it.

*Notes:

1) A Cleaning Fee may be required due to enhanced cleaning, sanitation, and inspection protocols.

2) Silver Thatch tandem kayaks available for discounted rental. Signed waiver and 5-day minimum required with 6th and 7th day free: US$39 per day per kayak ($195 per week/each). Paddles included.

***Deposit & Payment Schedule***

-- For bookings made outside of 60 days prior to arrival, a 50% deposit (of rent only) is due in order to confirm your booking. The remaining 50% balance plus taxes and fees is due 60 days prior to arrival.

-- For arrivals within 60 days, the entire balance is due in order to confirm your booking.

***Villa Cleaning & Sanitation***

-- We're committed to the health and safety of all our guests and have adopted enhanced cleaning safeguards to suppress the spread of COVID-19. All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival using health agency-approved cleaners and disinfectants. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products.

-- Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival on-island.

***Cancellation Policy***

RELAXED CANCELLATION POLICY ON ALL BOOKINGS MADE AFTER MARCH 14, 2020.

1). Once guests signed rental contract is confirmed with 50% (of rent) deposit, should guest cancel in writing prior to 60 days of arrival, half of the initial deposit (25% of rent) will be refunded to the card on file, less a 3.50% processing/admin fee. Should villa owner be able to replace the reservation in whole or in part, the (prorated) un-refunded balance of the initial deposit will be returned less any re-booking costs incurred. Should the owner not be able to replace the reservation, the balance of the initial deposit is forfeited.

PANDEMIC/EPIDEMIC EXCEPTION: Should a declared Pandemic or Epidemic prevent reasonable travel options to the destination, the guest may cancel and the entire initial deposit will be refunded, less a processing/admin fee of 3.50%.

2). Once full payment has been made (or the 60-day mark has passed and the guest has not paid the balance), should guest cancel in writing, GCVC will refund any occupancy taxes, cleaning fees and

Conveniently located en route to over 90% of our villas, we're the bright pink and white building on your right--you can't miss us! Our hospitality staff will be on hand to greet you and answer any questions about your villa, or the island in general. You'll also have the chance to check out your free snorkel gear, baby equipment, or other convenience items (e.g. Apple TVs, Bluetooth speakers, baby equipment and more). In addition, you'll receive our Silver Thatch member card for savings of up to 10% at select restaurants, charter operators, and water sports providers. Remember to stop by first en route to your villa!

Response from the manager Thank you for the review; but the pool is not heated in low season at all. It is shut down for the warmer months. December 15 begins high season, and then the pool heater is an optional expense. Sorry that the weather was cooler; a front must have brought in the cool air and flotsam on the beach; which we have raked 2-3 times a month.

Response from the manager Thanks for the comments John...Since your last trip the east end is the place to go now for best diving, restaurants and watersports. Part of renting a villa up here is to not have to drive to 7 Mile Beach for anything but seeing cruiseshippers, construction and traffic. We can help that now! In the past few years we are getting more repeat guests due to the expansion of infrastructure in nortside and east end. Rumor has it we will get a golf course in a few years as well!
