“great location”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2015

Loved the location but the building was a little run down. Didn't always have good response time with the management company which is why I like going through the owner. Makes me want to stay away those properties managed through managment companies.

“Unit 6, 296 Marlborough Street”

You cannot go wrong with this unit. 6 adults shared this 3 bedroom apt and it was great. Yes, the stairs are narrow and steep but it helps keep the vacation weight in check! Everything is within walking distance - Fenway, Boston Common, Beacon Hill, North End, great restaurants, liquor and grocery stores. Management is only an email away and are very responsive and accommodating. We felt completely safe and at home in this wonderful neighbourhood!

“Parking a Nightmare”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2014

Make sure you pre-arrange your parking spot BEFORE you go with the owner. We got there under the impression that we had a pre-arranged spot. Not so. Trying to find a parking spot in Boston is a nightmare. Eventually we got it all straightened out but at a heavy cost. The apartment is acceptable. It was clean. The stairs are quite steep, three floors, so if you have any problems with stairs, do not rent this apartment. We felt safe. The location was tremendous. Handy for everything. I would go back there any time.

“Back Bay Retreat”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2014

Great location in walking distance to shopping, restaurants and Fenway Park. My family of six was quite comfortable in this space. The kitchen provided just enough for quick meals between sight seeing excursions. Stairs were a challenge, but no more than the walks in the gorgeous neighborhood. As first time user of a vacation rental, I was pleasantly surprised of the ease of the process, once we were confirmed.

“Loved it”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2014

I met up with two college friends here and it was perfect for us. It is in a great location with stores and restaurants close by. The kitchen is very small but it included everything you would need (except perhaps a prior tenant took the corkscrew- don't worry; we left ours). It was on the third floor so if you can't do stairs it may not be right for you.

“Nice place and great location”

Reviewed 9 May 2014

We were a group of three college friends planning a reunion and this apartment was perfect for us. It was clean and well-equipped (well, a prior tenant took the corkscrew) and we loved the lovely Back Bay walk-everywhere location. Short Term Rentals Boston was great to work with. The apartment is on the third floor and about 40 steps up, so anyone with mobility problems should be aware of this.

“Central, in the nicest area in Boston”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2014

We had a lovely time in this apartment, in spite of the very cold weather. The apartment was very well equipped and toasty warm. Check in was painless and the management company kindly allowed us to leave our bags in the apartment on the day of departure until early afternoon. We would recommend the apartment as an alternative to a hotel for anyone staying more than a couple of nights.

“Location, location, location!”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2014

We stayed here for three days with friends to rediscover the Boston's city center. From a walking distance we found the parks, the stores, the restaurants. Wow! what a great location and a very confortable appartment (but the only table is the round one showed on the plan and it's a bit just if you want to sit six people for lunch). The two staircases kept us in shape.

“Great location”

Reviewed 12 Dec 2013

We stayed for six nights in November and loved the location of this apartment, just a couple of blocks off Newbury. Easy access to shops, restaurants. The apartment was very spacious with three double bedrooms and a large living room. Kitchen was small but functional and equipped with the basics, inc a full size fridge, range, and microwave. Bathroom was quite large, just a little tired with a curtain over a tub sort of shower. The heating worked very well and there were extra space heaters if we needed them. Just a couple of flaws. Noise from the upstairs apartment was incredibly loud. We could hear all their conversations and kids running around very early in the morning. Fortunately, they were only there for a couple of nights but if that apartment had been occupied for the whole time, it would have been an issue. No internet/tv service for our first two days - Comcast's fault - but we felt it took too long for us to get the management's attention, esp as it turned out that the service had been broken two days before we checked in. A note or email explaining the problem to us would have been considerate and saved us some time in trying to troubleshoot the issue, thinking it was just us not knowing how to get things to work. Deadbolt on the front door is broken (and I noticed a previous review saying it was broken in October. It should be fixed).

“Hotel avoidance 1.01”

Nice place. Worked we'll for our group. Would have been better if the Internet and TV had been working.
