“Jacqueline's review of Villa La Corte”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2006

The owner of the property, as well as Mandy, the housekeeper, made our stay pleasant. Mandy came into the house everyday and tidied up. The owner was very helpful calling taxis, making suggestions, and overcoming the language barriers for us. We hoped for a palatial villa and we were ecstatic when we arrived. I had the master bedroom and bath and felt like royalty there. There were many barking dogs in the neighborhood. It seems that security is very important to those living in this area. They would bark during the night and early morning. We enjoyed the area surrounding the house - the pool, a lovely space containing trees, fruit trees, flowers, etc. There was a space created outside our main door, tables and chairs covered with umbrellas, where we gathered before dinner to sip our wine.

It was very large, and gave us an "uncrowded" atmosphere. There were 10 of us and we had plenty of room, and bathrooms to be comfortable. It was close to everything we needed and the owners were wonderful. There was nothing I didn't like! I could have stayed for months!! Lucca is a wonderful city! Lots of resturants and shopping, and easy to get to. We did side trips to Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre and Venice. The Lucca train station can get you anywhere.

Luisa, the property manager, was most helpful. The chef was wonderful and Mandie the housekeeper was very helpful. It was a beautiful villa and very centrally located. We had small children with us and they really enjoyed the pool and several of our people used the bikes which were great. That we had to leave a little earlier - 9:30AM - on Saturday the 15th than anticipated. Lucca is a terrific town - most interesting and fun. We did have to use our rental car all of the time to get anywhere.

“Kim's review of Villa La Corte”

We had a wonderful time in Italy. The villa was stupendous. It was just what one would imagine a 200 year old Italian villa should be. It was like staying in the home of a wealthy Italian merchant, like the homes, now museums, one visits for a fee while on vacation. The ceilings and walls were painted with murals. The walled yard was filled with fruit trees. While sitting there one really felt like they had transgressed back in time, not with all the modern conveniences. The true villa feel. Nothing. A residential area with some farmland.
