“Decent house for the price”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2010

We had a wonderful weekend staying at Morning Breeze, but the house needs a lot of work. It is quite ugly and the yard was poorly kept. The furniture is very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. The bedrooms (with the exception of the master) are quite small - no where to put luggage!

Response from the manager We appreciate you taking the time to review your stay at Morning Breeze and for staying with us. We apologize the home wasn’t a good fit for you and your family, but are glad you had a wonderful weekend despite that. We hope to have you back as our guests again – feel free to ask our reservation specialists to recommend a home based on what you are searching for.

“Great place to stay,”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2010

Lakefront home with private doc. Well appointed home. Although not needed during this stay, home does not have a/C. It is a little older but well maintained. It was a great location on the lake, secluded yet close to conveniences. The location of the lake was great, well protected. The one leg of the dock need to be stabilized, but overall worked well

“great location, not so great house”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2010

The location of this house is its best asset. This could be a beautiful property if the owner would only renovate. The bathrooms show wear along with mildew and the linens need replacing along with living room furniture and carpeting. The lake location is ideal other than dealing with wake from the busy lake beyond the cove. Our daughter loved the daily visits from the ducks and we enjoyed the boating. The property does have a very accessible waterfront that made the stay pleasant for the older folks. The walk to the waterfront was also short which was a plus.

“Very enjoya and relaxingble”

Morning Breeze is an excellent location for the melting of three seperate families in to one memorable week. The grandchildren loved the water and the level lot. Everyone loved the views and the dock with fishing enough for everyone. They were really biting. A great time.

“Vacation from Hell”

Reviewed 25 Feb 2010

My husband and I were not at all happy with Morning Breeze. We realize that the snowfall this winter has been unprecedented. However, the house was totally inaccessible. My daughter and I had to sit on our bottoms and slide down an icy slope to get to the front door. Once inside, the house had a terrible musty smell. My daughter and husband both have allergies which were affected by the smell. In addition, there had been some type of leak in the ceiling and fans had to be run in the entryway the entire 24 hours we stayed there. It was obvious that this was an older home and I'm sure it is lovely in the summer but it is not good in the snow and winter. The two add on rooms were warm while the rest of the house was cold. There was no Internet connection as advertised. There were no blankets on the beds. A few blankets were found in the closets but they were mostly musty smelling and scratchy. The dish towel left in the kitchen was ratty and ripped. My husband contacted the rental office the next day. He advised them of the situation and they offered to find us a different rental. We did move to a different vacation home but we lost approximately 4-5 hours with waiting at the rental office, packing up and moving and then unpacking. This was only a 2 two day stay and we lost almost an entire afternoon. The 2nd rental was much nicer and accessible. Although my husband did have to shovel out the steps to the deck so we could walk to the front door. The rental office needs to ensure that the vacation homes that they rent are accessible and safe - regardless of the type of weather we have experienced. Also, the agent at the rental office gave us a gift card for dinner at Pine Lodge for our inconvenience. Imagine our surprise when we tried to use only to be told that there was nothing on the card. Talk about embarassing. They tried to give us another gift card but we declined - asked for money off our bill. Never talked to a member of management.

“Cozy”

Reviewed 18 Jan 2010

We had a really nice time and a good service in a beautiful place next to the lake. The only observations to make are that in the house there were animal hairs all over and that the heating in the room behind the fire place did not work. Nevertheless we had a really good time and would love to come back.

“Great Family Fun”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2009

It was a great place to spend our annual family vacation. My son, daughter-in-law, grandson, newphew, my husband and I made use of everything there: hot tub, lots of dinners on patio, lots of lake activities. My son really loved the boat ramp for his boat. What I really loved is at Morning Breeze it is out of the way and sort of in a cove which made sitting on the dock and getting the sun rays fantastic. We loved that the yardage was flat with no hills. One of the greatest things is we can each bring our other family members; Frances and Peanut our pets. The house itself fit all of our needs. Wonderful breakfasts at the table in dining room and looking out that window. While they were out doing the wakeboarding, skiing, etc I was able to sit by the wonderful window in the Living Room to read my book and look out at my family having a great time. We have been coming to Deep Creek Lake now for 10 years and I think we found our home away from home. We made reservations for next year before we left and we are all looking forward to returning. As Chris, my grandson said it cannot come fast enough. A Thank you to the home owners for letting us use your home once a year. See you soon.

“we had problems”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2009

My husband and I have stayed at alot of places in Deep Creek. We've always enjoyed our stay. This time we wanted to stay close to the lake and enjoy the view. When we arrived we were surprised to see that there wasn't a lake view and we had to walk down to the end of the lot to see the lake. The senery was not what we expected. When I made the reservations I asked for a lake view home. We also had a problem with the fireplace in the bedroom. Not sure what went wrong but all the smoke from the fire backed up into the room so we adjusted the fluke and still had the same problem. Our first night there we had to open the doors and air out the smoke. We would not stay here again. We enjoy the loft homes and mountain experience.

“Older house but OK”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2009

Given the high prices for rentals at Deep Creek, this house is a pretty good value. Older, but everything worked. Nice lot and dock in a good location. It holds 4 adults and 3 kids OK. Anything more would get crowded.

Response from the manager Thanks for leaving us feedback about your vacation at Morning Breeze. If you have different needs in a home the next time you visit Deep Creek Lake, please give us a call – we would be more than happy to help. We hope to see you return and stay with us again soon!
