“Top of the Mountain”
Overall, my family's stay at this property was quite enjoyable. There's lots of common space inside, but the bedrooms are separate enough to afford some privacy. Both the main great room and basement family room are great for movie nights or gathering around the fire. The kitchen is adequate, although cooking amenities and utensils could be better (and higher quality). The dual dishwashers are a fantastic help to clean up after big meals! The rear deck and hot tub offer some beautiful views of the morning lake mist and mountains. We wished for more deck furniture--especially comfortable seating--and grills that were in better working order. Fortunately, we were able to get the charcoal grill fired-up once we cleaned it well. A better fire pit (rather than just some rocks stacked up in the rear yard) would also have been nice for making smores at night. There's plenty of parking for 4-5 cars and a nice, big front yard. The lake and lots of shops, restaurants, and sights are a quick drive away, and a quiet, tree-lined stroll through the neighborhood is just outside the front door! The fact that this house is pet-friendly (we have two dogs) really made this an ideal choice for our trip. Thanks for a great stay Railey and Peak of Perfection!
“Snuggle in and chill out.”
This is our 12th year coming to Deep Creek - sometimes we come twice a year. Peak of Perfection is a gorgeous home that is very spacious, comfortable and cozy. There is plenty of room for a group of 14 to hang out together or spread out and have multiple activities going on throughout the house. It is easy to get to and overlooks the lake and part of McHenry business district. Although the location is not far from McHenry stores and restaurants, it is very quied and peaceful. We spent many hours relaxing in the hot tub, looking at the lake and mountains and listening to the quiet. Deep Creek is our "decompression vacation". The Railey staff are all very friendly and helpful and go to great lengths to make sure your stay is everything you want it to be. My favorite part of coming to Deep Creek is the quiet and serenity. We often get in the car and just go driving around the area. The mountains and the lake are equally beautiful, even in the winter when they are covered with snow and the lake is frozen over. We will be lookimg for that when we come back in February.
“A Royal Place that provides opportunity for Rest and Total Relax”
My family of 12 stayed in this beautiful "Peak of Perfection" and the name does fit this home totally. We entered the home and it was everything and more that I ever imagined. It was very clean and anything you needed was provided in the home. The location was great for rest and relaxation because we only had 1 neighbor and it was very quaint and quiet during our stay. The amenities included 2 dishwashers, washer and dryer, all the cooking utensils you could think of, 2 grills (gas and charcoal) and the Hot Tub was a perfect added addition to this beautiful home. This trip was well worth it and I would stay again. It was also close to shopping, the Wisp Resort and Smiley's Fun Zone. This was a memorable experience that my family will never forget.
“Amenities were there but didn't work”
We stayed at Peak of Perfection over New Year's holiday. We had a great time except for some of the amenities that were listed did not work. The worst on was the big screen TV in the family room. With it being college football bowl weekend and New Year's Eve it really was an inconvenience for our trip. Also that was one of the reasons I booked this home. We called right away to maintenance and someone did come out the first night then nothing else happened. I guess they tried to replace it but no one told us that. We also brought steaks to cook on the gas grill and it didn't work. It had gas but didn't work so we tried the broiler in the house and it died mid-way through the cooking process. What a disappointment! Other than that we made the best of our trip. We love the Deep Creek area and will definitely be back.
We love Deep Creek and this was our first experience with Railey Rentals. The company was fabulous to work with (and we are a high-maintenance family so when we find a great place like Railey we love that!!). They could not have been nicer. Peak of Perfection was almost perfection and we had a very relaxing and pleasant getaway. There were 4 adults and 1 child there all 4 nights and an additional adult and child for the last two nights. We already look forward to working with the great people at Railey again for our next trip to Deep Creek this winter and one in the summer. There were just a few things that could have been improved: 1. The card with directions to the house needs to be proofread. The address at the top reads Sundance Way, but the directions tell you the house is on Upper Highline Dr. 2. There was a lack of toilet paper in the house and I wasn't sure if that was provided or if we were to bring it 3. There could be a more specific list of what to bring We stayed at Peak of Perfection and in that house there were a couple of things that were difficult: 1. The Tv's/DVD players were difficult to operate. Some clearly written instructions and clearly marked remote controls would have certainly been helpful. 2. There is no soap holder/shower organizer in the shower in the first floor master. Awkward in that shower.
“Great views; Open Spaces.”
Our five couples enjoyed a comfortable weekend at Peak of Perfection. We enjoyed the open lay-out which allowed us to interact between watching football, playing dominoes and creating masterpieces in the kitchen. The kitchen, which wasn't as well-equipped as some we have rented, had a funny layout but we were able to navigate without stepping on each other...(we have a a lot of cooks.) We were more comfortable upstairs and never used the family room downstairs with the big TV and pool table but that's just us. (I think that is because we like to be close to the food!) If you have children or some singles in your group, that would work better than 5 couples (unless some of them like to sleep alone) since the 5th bedroom has bunks. There is a computer in the loft which was really convenient. That was a nice touch. For our five couples, it was great for the weekend, but if we were staying longer, we would prefer a better kitchen layout and an extra queen bed... :-) I would think that a some dishwasher tabs and an extra garbage bag or two would be nice, but that didn't happen so don't leave home without those!
“An extraordinary home!”
From the moment you walk in the front door into the large foyer opening to the living room and looking up at the bridge walkway between the large master suites, you know you picked the right house. This log home is the perfect mountain top setting for Deep Creek Lake.
“Great time with family”
We had a great time catching up and enjoying the front yard, basketball hoop, and hot tub. We absolutely loved the big island in the kitchen!
