“Fun time, great views, good location”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2011

Nice cabin, views are great. Could use some maintenance work and updating.

“Wonderful”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2010

We have stayed here every summer for 4 years and just love it. The location is great and we boat over to the state beach and have a good time. Customer Service is excellent.

“Great location; Property needs makeover”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2010

The title of this review says it all. The home is in a wonderful part of the lake. However, the interior is dated. The rugs and couches are threadbare and smell of overuse. The out-of-style furnishings and decor reflect poorly on what could be a magnificent property. As it is now, it is not worth the rental fee. Note: an old out building adjacent to the home is a dangerous eyesore that should be removed.

“Property not kept up very well”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2010

The property could be a wonderful rental however, it is not being maintained very well. The deck has not been stained in years. It is splintery and not very inviiting. We had to wait two days for someone to come out and fix the garbage disposal and a clogged drain in the bathroom. There is a water leak in the lower level. When it rained it came in through the wall. Because of the moisture the house had a moldy odor. However, we loved the location. The layout is wonderful. Spacious enough to have room to enjoy the entire family. Some of the furniture is old and could use updating also. It is ashame because if the home were better maintained we would have definately rented it again next year. As it is we decided to rent a townhome at Cedar Shores for next year. We did have a wonderful vacation though, and definately look forward to our week at the lake.

“Mostly Enjoyable”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2009

We had a great time in Deep Creek Lake but the house we stayed in had a few issues, several little things the homeowner needs to take care of; screens on sliding doors, shower door had strip hanging, carpet needs a good cleaning, musty order in the lower part, light in laundry area very slow to come on, etc.

“Below Average”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2009

The outside of the house is gorgeous, the inside left much to be desired. The furnishings are very outdated and worn. Chairs and dishes were mismatched and broken. There were not enough chairs at the table and bar to accomodate the 10 people that the house holds. The beds werer smaller than advertised (full instead of queen) and mattresses were very uncomfortable. The lower level bedroom was not pictured on the website for a reason. It was very small and the bunk beds were actually dangerous to sleep on. The guests in that room ended up sleeping on the couch. There were also not enough parking spaces for the amount of people that the house will hold. I was asked to complete this review over 1 1/2 years after our visit and I still feel as strongly about this house. We chose not to rent the house the following year and our experience at Reel Escape (in Jan 2009) was fantastic.
