“Fabulous Home!!”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2013

Beautifully decorated home equipped with everything we could possible need!! It easily accommodated our group of 15 adults. The large dining area meant all of us could sit down around the large table for a meal at the same time. The kitchen has tons of large pots and pans. The bed and bath linens were clean. The home is located at the end of a cul-de-sac which offers lots of privacy. We will definitely book this home next year!!

All things at telstar.gon were wonderful. The location was private, yet close to amenities such as grocery, dining and recreation. The house was clean and bright and well maintained. We loved the availability of the lake, the dock, the fire pit, the little beach. Our grandchildren were able to swim safely, and we were able to fish from the dock. We rented canoes and the inlet was safe for the children to paddle about as well. It was well out of the busy lake traffic so it was quiet and peaceful. The service from Railey was competent, polite, and responsive. A leak in the master bath shower was attended to quickly so we felt comfortable that problems would be solved efficiently. All of our family (9 people) agreed this was the best vacation we have had at Deep Creek. This included budding teenagers as well. The only improvement I could say is addition of hooks to hang towels in the bathrooms so they can dry. One towel bar just doesn't cut it. Over the door hooks are inexpensive and readily available. Again, this was a lovely location and we have reserved this home for next year. Maryann Isaacs

“What a fantastic way to spend a week!”

This house worked out great for a nice big family vacation! Big enough table for everyone to eat at together. Nice kitchen and gameroom. Hot tub to relax. A very nice dock to fish and swim.

“Excellent home, but needs high-speed internet.”

Reviewed 9 Feb 2011

This was one of the best houses we rented. The layout was great for multiple couples. A lot of bathrooms for the value. However, it needs high-speed internet. Dial up just does not cut it anymore. Also, there were a lot of cobwebs. It is because of all the country knickknacks and high ceilings. All in all, that can be overlooked. We will definitely stay here again. The value was great. The giant dining room table was amazing for meals. And, the layout worked perfectly. The rooms were very quiet because of their locations away from the common areas. And, the ceiling height in the main room was amazing.

“Great place for family reunion. 2 years in a row at DCL.”

The sofa's could be replaced. No Springs left in them.

“Ski House 2010”

Reviewed 18 Feb 2010

As always, a wonderful house to rent for our group of 12. The only major issue is a simple one - the ancient dial-up computer still present in the house. It would be a simple (and inexpensive) matter replacing this with a WiFi port. Nearly all renters now possess laptop computers or mobile devices with WiFi access. A desktop computer with dial-up access is very ancient technology and should be dispensed with. One other (relatively minor) complaint - Each year when there is snow on the ground, our group must shovel out the driveway and access to the door. For what we are paying to rent this house, we deserve to have the 5 parking spaces promised and the walkway cleared when we arrive.

“One of our favorite houses.”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2009

We stayed in September. The house was nice and roomy. They had lots of extra blankets and a few really nice air mattresses in case we needed them. The house was clean and well provided with easy and close access to the lake. Our only complaint was the house was poorly marked from the road. We arrived late at night and had a difficult time finding it. The sign to the house was AFTER you had to turn down a poorly lit driveway. The sign needs to be placed at the BEGINNING of the driveway.
