Great ski weekend. We loved the house. It was clean and very comfortable with all the conveniences of home provided. The only disappointment was not having the full cable setup in all the rooms with TVs. Channels were limited because a special converter box was only provided in the main living area. Otherwise it was great. The house accomodates 8 people very well, but there is only seating for 6 in the dining area. We asked for a folding table and the Real Estate Company was happy to provide it. I was a little worried arriving less than 24 hours after McHenry got 12 inches of snow, but to my pleasant surprise the roads, parking area, and especially the steps leading up to the house were fully cleared which made unloading our things for the weekend much easier!!!! If you've ever carried coolers, luggage, and ski equipment up snow and icy steps, you know what a relief that was. We had a great ski weekend at WISP and will most likely do it again - same place and all next year!

“Close to Everything Including Noisy Road and Parking Lot”

The accommodations were modern, attractive and, in general, comfortable. However, a road ran beside the building so close that sometimes it seemed vehicles might run right through the back deck as they rounded the curve. This also made it noisy sometimes as did the very nearby hotel parking lot where truckers and bikers saw fit to warm up there loud engines early in the morning most days. What was listed as a 4th bedroom was actually meant to be a family room with only a bed (no headboard) added to make a bedroom, but no bureau, chest of drawer, or even a rack on which to set luggage and with no closet in the room. Also, the only way to get to the outdoor hot tub was through this bedroom making access hard when someone was sleeping. Hot tub itself was fit in tight area, making it very difficult to remove and replace the cover. Finally, the lights on the front steps did not work (maintenance was informed, but were not repaired prior to our departure) making it dangerous to enter and exit after dark.

Cleaning crew MIGHT have surface cleaned-not good. Duvet in master torn, master shower door had to be re-hung by us to get the doors to slide! Phones not operational. All items that could be remedied if there was a communication process between cleaning staff and managment company-likely not. (If one can't move shower door, how do you clean it??!!). It was a lovely property and great location. I think it's been neglected though maintenance wise, and if it was my house I'd be furious with the wall condition, not so clean rugs, etc. One more annoying thing-no wine opener-bummer at the end of a day skiing! At least one non-stick pan or griddle would have been nice too. Spent all weekend scrubbing the pans.
