Very Good

“Very nice!”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

It was all and more than I expected when we got there. Everything you need is in the house. My wife and friends said, "They thought of everything!" The beaches are close but not within walking distance. I went fishing everyday so it is not far. My wife and friends went to pool at Corolla light nearly every day. It just a fun time a very relaxing. It has been only 3 weeks that we left but I miss it already!

“Fun filled wee”

The house was absolutely wonderful. The fish decor was so appropriate, loved it. As others have said the kitchen is very well stocked. The bikes and beach chairs were a bonus. Convenience of fitness center across the street was great. Wish the beach pools were closer. Short cut through the trees made the walk to the beach much faster. The parking lot by the beach access was also convenient. Great house thanks so much for sharing it.

“Great house in a superior resort.”

The house was clean, well stocked with kitchen items, and the beds were very comfortable. It was convenient to recreation activities, and the amenities of Corolla Light Resort were great.

“Great Stay!”

We really enjoyed our stay at aurora. The price was right for this lovely (and spotless) home. We had a total of six guests, ranging in age from 6 to 65. Everyone had a wonderful time!

“Aurora, a comfortable home at a good price”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in the Outer Banks by staying in aurora. Being a part of the Corolla Light resort was fantastic as having access to the beachfront and soundfront pools was very nice for the young children. We could relax a little more there than at the beach, though we enjoyed many mornings at the beach as well. The home was spacious, clean, and well-stocked. We did have problems with a couple of the toilets not running properly, but other than that, the rental suited our needs perfectly. The location was nice and quiet (as it is an end unit) and the trolley service was helpful for getting to the beach, though it would have been nice if the trolley ran in the evenings and the pools were open in the evenings.

“Great week at aurora”

Our family enjoyed our week in OBX staying in Corolla Light. The pools and activities for all were really nice. We enjoyed riding the bikes all over the place. The house worked out perfectly for our family.

We went from New York-Virginia; rented a car in Virginia and drove for about 2 hours to the place. From the minute we got to the place, we knew this was going to be our most relaxing and comfortable experience. Everything was excellent (clean, accessible, distance from the beach, etc.) - There's plenty of space int he house. - It was extremely clean. - All we had bring with us was our clothes and groceries, no need for more. It has all the electronics and appliances you have at home are there. - Bikes (6) and surfboards (3). - Everybody is nice and friendly over there. - There's hundreds of restaurants and places to visit. - The seafood and Ice cream is way better than New York's - The beach is a 5-7 minute walk from the house. Very clean and safe. - It's so quiet that it tempts you to fall asleep on the balconies (there's 4 of them). - Very safe environment, very family oriented. This is definitely one of the best places for vacation I have ever been to. I'm definitely coming back.

“Relaxing and enjoyable stay”

Excellent home. A little inconvienced to have the kitchen and main living area on the 3rd level. Check in could be facilitated by telling us where to pick up our Corolla Light bracelets and welcome packet. We didn't know where to even find it until the 2nd day. We knew the code to enter the house and that was it.

“Loved Corolla Light”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2009

The rental home was centrally located. However, there was no decent view of anything other than the back decks of other rentals. (My son got a kick out of a neighbor's dog "relieving" himself off the deck.) The workers associated with the gray building to the left were quite loud very early in the morning. The two master bedrooms were comfortable. I loved the master bedroom shower tile work and all of the window treatments. (With the exception of the "blinds" on the upstairs sliding doors. My advice - get rid of them.) The downstairs bedroom had "sand fleas?" and about 7 or 8 hanging spiders greeted my son on the 4th morning. Not a good experience. The dryer took forever to dry the clothes. The upstairs half-bath sink/door was awkward. The sofas/chairs were very uncomfortable. It just didn't feel like a home away from home. The deck table off the kitchen had a broken leg. The outside tables had not been cleaned. We didn't use them. They also need something to hand up the wet clothes. I wouldn't rent this unit again. However, I will consider Corolla Light. We loved the trolley, the center, the pools, the oceanside grille, the gazebos, the activities that were offered - especially the crabbing. The only thing we didn't like was the crowded beach.

“Corolla Light amenities are fantastic for families.”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2009

Pluses: House has everything you might want; beach chairs, bikes, tennis rackets, sand toys, TVs in all the rooms, fully equiped kitchen, front and back porches. Corolla Light amenities - house is walking distance to the sports/work out facility. Great biking and walking trails. The pools. The trolley. The tie dye activity! (We loved it!) Cons: Well, this house doesn't have a any view of the water BUT...if you don't care about that the value this house offers is outstanding. The Outer Banks Blue rental company was excellent to work with and the rental process could not have been easier. We loved not having to check in at the office first. The keyless entry is fantastic! Corolla Light has several pools (inside and out), tennis courts (inside and out), volley ball courts (ditto) basket ball courts, a play ground, activities, and even shuffle board! The light house is within sight of most houses. The pool facility on the beach has a pool side resturant we loved (try the crab cakes - worth the $14). There are 4 pools at this. 2 larger pools, a baby pool, and a "training pool" that's perfect for beginning swimmers. It's a short walk down the deck walkway (w/ a stop to wash off sand) from the beach to the pools and when you have kids this makes it VERY easy to transition with their moods. We LOVED the Corolla Light community and the house was perfect for our family. It's very hard to find a beach rental for smaller families. We didn't go w/ 20 family members like many of the big places cater to - it was just the immediate family. When it's just a single family or two couples w/ a few kids - the AURORA is PERFECT.
