- Very Good
Myself and 7 of my friends stayed in this house for our annual snowboard trip. Really nice open floor plan and great location. I would say putting a few hundred dollars into updating the little things in the place would make a world of difference. The Kitchen supplies were very old and broken. Also, the beds were like sleeping on the the hard floor. The bunk beds weren't very sturdy at all. Definitely wouldn't want kids jumping up there. Chimney needs to be cleaned out as well. If little minor things were done to the place it would be awesome. We all enjoyed our stay and it was good for what we needed.
“Very nice place / great responsiveness of the managing company”
This chalet is very nice and comfortable. Great common room for the kids. Beds were comfortable and the Jacuzzi bathtub in the Master bedroom is a nice luxury after a day of skiing. The internet connection in the house was not functioning when we arrived, which was a huge problem for us, but the rental agency came right away to install a Verizon Hotspot free of charge, which solved our problem. In this day and age, internet is like heating and running water: it should come standard. Also the house is not equipped with a Blu-Ray reader. Only DVD. In case you want to bring movies for the kids, it's worth knowing. But the place is very well equipped and an ultra-convenient spot 3 minutes from alpine Meadow, 5 minutes from Squaw and 10 minutes from Tahoe City. Would consider renting it again!
“Great family getaway”
We had a wonderful post Christmas holiday stay. The house was much more spacious than we thought and it had wonderful natural light. We really liked the open plan and the kids room worked perfectly--the kids all slept together in there. We would love to stay there again. Only problems we had were it was very difficult to find at night. I never saw a house number and it was not well lit outside. That's why I have only 2 stars for ease of check in. I rated comfort a 4 because the bar chairs were too tall for the bar and the dining chairs were not very comfy. If the kitchen was better appointed and if there was a hot tub we would have been ecstatic and overlooked all of the above short comings!
Had a great time second year at the same cabin will return again next year.Your staff was very helpful I left an item at the property your staff sent it to me and followed up to make sure I recieved it that is much appreciated.Thank you Beth Taylor was a dream.
“We will be back!”
This property is roomy and nicely maintained. It was the perfect place to stay with our family and friends with its 4 bed- and bathrooms. It is a great vacation spot because hiking, kayaking, and swimming are all nearby... The kids really enjoyed the pond in walking distance.
Don't recall being warned of bears in e-mail before we arrived. Saw the warning in the cabin too late! Left a window open downstairs and a bear knocked in the screen. my girl friend was down there and screamed and scared off the bear. If she wasn't there, our food would have been history!
“Was a great time”
The home was a little rustic the stting was the best I ever had in a rental can't wait to go back
Our family had a two week vacation touring California. Lake Tahoe was the place everyone said they liked the best. This house was perfect - the location, cleanliness, the little waterfall running next to it - everything was perfect!
“Woodsy location, soaring spacious home, run-down furniture.”
We thought this house was super - lots of room, lots of bathrooms, big kitchen, nice deck facing the woods - even though some of the furniture (like the sofas in the living room) was badly stained and had huge rips. We just put tablecloths and blankets over the worse parts. House has lots of deferred maintenance - watch for splinters from the deck -- but that's probably what made it affordable for our group, and permitted us to bring our dog. Big, spacious and well-supplied kitchen, even if appliances are dated, made it easy for several people to cook at one time. We liked this place.
“Bear Creek Retreat”
We enjoyed a wonderful week at Bear Creek and would definitely recommend the property and Tahoe Getaways to our friends. We're sure we'll use Tahoe Getaways again to plan our vacations in the Tahoe area. The only reason we are not giving the whole experience a full five star rating, is that there were a couple of minor maintenance issues with the property, which could easily be recitified, making the experience absolutely perfect.
