“Could use some freshening up”
We stayed here in early March and found the unit a bit "over-stuffed," outdated and musty. We realize this is someone's personal unit but believe it's time to freshen up the place. While the photos that are provided are nice, it would be even better if the management company would provide some sort of rating service for the properties they list on VRBO, something we've found with other management companies in resort areas. That way, renters would have an idea how properties compared. Another bit of information that would be helpful is the age of the property and the statement provide once inside the unit - "Please be respectful of the tenants around and below you. This building was built in the '70s when sound proofing wasn't a top priority......" Because of this, it can be very noisy - toilets flushing, water running through pipes, flooring squeaking. As I wrote this I could hear the people in the unit above me walking around and flushing toilets as they got ready for their day - and I realize there is no way to fix this, but think the information useful prior to booking. My advice if you book here - use a white noise machine at least when sleeping. When we arrived, we had to open the sliding door and windows to air things out (I have asthma). The kitchen is in need of restocking, especially the silverware (a number of spoons seem to have found their way into the garbage disposal and are now quite rough on the edges). Other items, like the glass measuring cup which no longer has any 1/4 C., 1/2 C., etc. lines on it, are quite old and well-used. Time to refresh things. One positive note is that the king-sized bed is quite comfortable. The ski lockers are large and quite convenient. It is a bit of a walk to the slopes but the video supplied on the Mtn-Resorts app is very useful.
Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to review the Storm Meadows at Christie Base. We appreciate your clear feedback on the property. This has been conveyed to our department managers. We are glad to see you enjoyed the bedding, ski lockers and found our app to be helpful. We look forward to the opportunity host you again in Steamboat Springs at Mountain Resorts. Sincerely, Ryan Fleming Director of Guest Relations
The location is convenient to the ski area. Convenient walking to most places however the free Steamboat shuttles do not service Storm Meadows at Christie Base and it was -17, therefore too cold to walk. Did not know the shuttles would not be servicing these condos at time of booking.
Response from the manager Greetings, Thanks for taking the time to review the Storm Meadows at Christie Base. We apologize the location of the Free City Bus was not more clear. With the bus stop stop 300 yards away it can be convenient. Of course though in the sub zero weather comfort can be a challenge. We look forward to the opportunity to host you again at Mountain Resorts. Sincerely, Ryan Fleming Director of Guest Relations
“Great location - least comfortable beds”
Like the title says, the location was great. The building amenities were also very useful (hot tub, ski lockers, etc). However, the beds were not good. I looked through the guest log to see if anyone else had written about it, but I guess they all wanted to be nice. The master bed was so hard it will leave bruises on your ribs and the pull out couch, don't even bother. The only beds that a person should sleep on we're the trundle twins, but there are only two of them. Easy fix though, get a mattress topper. I honestly thought the king bed was just a box spring...
Response from the manager Storm Meadows at Christie Base is a great location with Ski in/Walk out access to the slopes at Steamboat. Each condominium managed by Mountain Resorts is privately owned and furnishings, decor and bedding are the owner's preference. We appreciate when guests take the time to provide this type of feedback. We passed this along to the owner and are pleased to report that a new King bed has been provided for the comfort of future guests. Mountain Resorts Guest Services
