When we pulled up, we are a little leery of the outside. Once, inside, we changed our minds. The decorations were beautiful and nicely done. The swim spa was very nice, however had too many chemicals on the first day, which caused me to have a massive headache and difficulty breathing. The second day in the swim spa was better. Also, I came back with 20 plus bites on my legs which were consistent looking to bed bug bites. (Might want to have that checked out). Location was very nice- close to both Gatlinburg attractions and Pigeon Forge. Pamphlets in the cabin on attractions would be nice. All in all, the place was very nicely kept on the inside. We would be interested in using this company again in the future, only in a different cabin that had a better view.

Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay in A Skinny Dipping Cabin. We can assure you that there are no bed bugs in this cabin. We have our cabins checked regularly and this has not been an issue in this cabin. We thoroughly clean each cabin before our guests arrive to ensure cleanliness and comfort. The pool/swim spa is located indoors so the smell of the pool may be a little strong when you first enter the spa room. We can assure you that the pool spa is cleaned properly between each guest. We appreciate your business and hope you will visit one of our other cabins in the future.

“enjoyed a nice relaxing day in the cabin with family.”

the service that i received from start to finish was good. the staff is friendly and answered all my questions before i committed to the rental. the home was very nice and had a very home-like atmosphere that was very welcoming. the location is close to town, however, it is in the beginning area of gatlinburg,...just before getting to the aquarium...and a walk down the road would have been fine for myself, but my mother is a senior citizen with a walker...so i could not see her making a walk to places close by, so i just drove when we went out to eat. there are 3 steps to enter into the cabin, and i made the mistake of not asking about that for her as well. this was a last minute trip, and i had not looked as much as i could have for a cabin...but not to take away from this cabin...it was very nice and suited most of our needs. nice location for finding at night and not up any hills. one drawback is that it is not on the river, but it does have a nice indoor pool to help make up for that. we had wanted to rent the cabin across the street "pooling around" but it was not available for our stay...it was similar but on the river. we did have an issue upon arrival with the sink in the bathroom holding water longer than it should as if there was a clog..but it really was no big deal. and when i went to plug the hairdryer provided, it sparked out of the outlet, and apparently sparked out the dryer as well...as i had a burnt whole in my shirt as a result. i reported both to the office and was told an electrician would be out to check what was going on.office staff was very friendly, and im sure that they followed up with the safety issue. all in all it was a good cabin, clean, nicely decorated, pretty good location on a quiet side street, with an indoor pool that was great to relax in. we celebrated my sons 4th birthday while there and appreciate all the effort that went into this cabin, as it has given us a great memory of family time spent together in celebration!thanks!

Response from the manager We are pleased to hear you and your family enjoyed your stay with us. We did follow-up with the electrical issues and these issues have been taken care of.

“Nice”

My husband and I stayed at Skinny Dipping the week of our 37th wedding anniversary. A little skeptical when we drove up and saw the outside but the inside redeemed itself. The house is very clean and conveniently located to the Gatlinburg strip. Felt a little more seating could be used in the main room...a nice sectional or at least a comfy armchair in addition to the love seat would have been great. Also, the description said we could sit on the porch in the rocking chairs and enjoy the sounds of the Smokey Mountains. There was no porch (at least not much of one) and there were no rocking chairs. Aside from these few things we would have liked to be different we did have a wonderful relaxing stay.

Response from the manager We do apologize for the information that was currently on our website. It was brought to our attention in this review that we did talk about there being a porch with rocking chairs at this cabin. We have taken that information off of our site, because in fact there is not a porch or rocking chairs at this location. We are sorry for the miss information on our website.

“Honeymooing”

I loved the closeness to town!! It was so much fun to walk and shop then come back and relax just to be able to walk to town for dinner!! The Cabin was nice as the pictures show, it does have woods in the back which is nice if you want privacy, and otherwise your in a small street with houses to left and right of you. The only thing i did not like was the hot tub/pool had a strong overwhelming smell of chlorine, that i was only in it once due to hard to breath and coughing spells due to smell.

Response from the manager We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay! In this particular cabin the hot tub is located inside. Therefore, the chlorine smell is going to be a little more noticeable than if it were outside the cabin.

“Romantic and very cozy”

The cabin is awesome. It feels like you are going home at the end of the day instead of a generic hotel room. Great place for couples to send some quality "special time" together. The hot tub/spa is amazing. Great to relax in after a long day of shopping or site seeing. Would highly recomend it. Can't wait to go back and enjoy it again.

Response from the manager So happy to hear you had a romantic stay! We look forward to your return!

“Dirty Cabin Very Disappointed”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2010

We rented 5 cabins right on the same road all managed by Cabins for You. These were for my sons wedding . My husband and I stayed in Skinny Dipping. It was filthy. The carpet had huge black spots all over. The rugs they put down were filthy also. The bathroom sink took 30 minutes to drain. There were spiderwebs and cobwebs all over the cabin. The pool turned my hair green and there were tiles loose in the pool room. The light in the livingroom would come on sometime and not sometime as it had a short in it. The cabin has not been well maintained. It was not well stocked either. Most of the dishes were chipped. Everything had to be washed before using. The tiles floor were dirty also. I walked around in white socks for 10 mintes and the bottoms were black. There was a big hole in my side of the bed also. When you call to compain, nothing is done. They offer to give you a credit on a future stay. Please!!! Why would I want to stay in a dirty cabin?

Response from the manager We are sorry the cleanliness was disappointing. There was a high volume of renters on account of it being summertime, but the carpets have been cleaned since this stay and the owners have been out to the site since this particular stay. Moreover, the cabin now has hard wood laminate flooring in the living room area to prevent that issue from arising again. As for the hot tub, sometimes the chemicals used to treat the spa can turn nail beds or hair green, especially if the hair is dyed or permed. Once a problem has been reported, our maintenance staff will try to fix the problem as fast as possible. If there is a problem that can be fixed during a customer’s stay, then we don’t offer refunds. The credit can be to use towards any property on our program.

“Amazing !5th Anniversary”

I have to say that we are in our early 30s and this is our 15th wedding anniv. and we have 3 teenagers so we decided to book a romantic get away and this was more then we expected. The cabin looked a little small when you look at it however when you enter it is like a small nook with many secrets we had the best weekend ever. I am sure there are many couples that can say the same thing . We will return for another weekend away to this cabin it is so worth it. Oh and thanks cabins 4 you for making it so easy to book and stay in the area this is not the first time we have stayed in one of their cabins nor will it be the last all the ladies that we have dealt with are supper nice and take good care of us. so keep up the great work.

Response from the manager Thank you for the review! We are so pleased to hear the trip was a success! We are looking forward to your return!
