“703E IS WORN OUT - NEEDS WORK”
We had stayed in 703E years ago and again this May (we go to Summerwind every year) and the furniture was the same as it was back then. The sofa was worn out back years ago, and it is still the same sofa and still worn out. The dishwasher was broken with the jet disconnected at the bottom, so we fixed that to allow it to clean the dishes. Several of the dishes and utensils in the cabinets and drawers were very dirty and needed to be run through the dishwasher again. When we arrived, two of the wired in smoke detector's back-up batteries were chirping, so we replaced those. Overall, Summerwind is a great place to stay but we would recommend staying away from 703E and choose one of the other condos within Summerwind. The beach attendant couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. The canned questions below identify the word "Property". Not sure if it means the Summerwind property as a whole or just the 703E property. For our answers, we are assuming they mean 703E.
“Have stayed in this condo before but not too happy this time.”
We have stayed in this specific condo a couple of times several years ago. We enjoy the Summerwind facilities and like the beach chairs that are part of the deal with Dale Peterson. This time however the cleanliness in this condo was lacking. I had to buy a new shower curtain because theirs was very dirty. The floors needed a good mopping as walking around barefoot in the condo left your feet dirty. The dishwasher is old and does not clean well. In fact I had to remove food that was left behind from the dishwasher before I could use it. The first day we had a problem getting hot water. Dale Peterson was wonderful to work with but it took part of two days to get it resolved. The owner had put a timer on the hot water heater. I don't know how that was expected to work given the condo should sleep 6, you have a dishwasher and clothes washer to use. Thankfully the utility was able to turn off the timer remotely. Dale Peterson checked back to make sure it was resolved. I probably will not stay in this condo again but will return to Summerwind and continue to use Dale Peterson Vacations.
“Better than we ever thought it could be”
We retired in January and rented this for the months of Feb. & March. We have never been to Navarre Beach before so we weren't sure of what to expect. We arrived just at dark and we were so impressed driving across the causeway to so the Summerwinds all lit up. The condo was clean when we arrived, and the condition of the furnishings were good. The view from the balcony was amazing. The only questionable item was the fact that the microwave made very loud noise when in use. It seemed to work ok, we were not sure how long it would last. We advised the property mgr., but no one was sent to inspect. The staff @ the Summerwinds do an excellent job of maintaining the property. The staff @ Dale Peterson were also very nice and helpful with any questions we had. In fact we have already made a deposit for next year. The sign says that Navarre Beach on the Gulf, and that is true.
The view was beautiful. The rental was a disappointment. I have been staying here for 10 + years and this was the worse unit. Every time I opened the oven the fire alarm went off. Several of the dishes and glasses had dried food stuck on them. The main bathroom had a loud noise that ran continuously which made it difficult to sleep in the main bedroom. The furniture seemed dirty. Ithe sleeper sofa mattress was shot. I found two pills laying on the bedroom furniture which clearly shows the place was not thoroughly cleaned.

We understand this was not a usual experience, just an unfortunate oversight on the cleaning staff.
“A big disappointment. . .”
My daughter, baby granddaughter and I rented a one bedroom condo in the east building. The purpose of our Florida visit was to attend a wedding celebration and family reunion. Other relatives stayed in the center and west buildings in much cleaner and more comfortable apartments. My biggest complaint about the condo was the condition. At first glance, it appeared clean, but this was superficial only. Clearly, this place had not received a thorough cleaning in a long time. The overhead fans were so dirty, especially in the bedroom, that we could not turn them on for fear of sending the dirt down on us, though the LR fan was turned on high when we entered. The rug under the bed and dresser was covered with dust, dirt and food crumbs. (Fortunately we did not see bugs, but that was a worry.) The blankets we pulled from the closet were old and frayed, with several holes. The old TV in the LR and the cable box had to be turned on manually as the remotes either did not work or had no batteries. The aC/heating system could not be regulated as the thermostat had no batteries and did not work. However, it went on and off with a good deal of noise. In general, this condo is in great need of refurbishing, replacing the worn rugs and blankets and old furniture. But the lack of cleanliness was the biggest problem. Compared to my previous experience stay at Summerwind and the experience of my relatives who were there, this condo ranked very low. However, the location was great, view from the balcony lovely as we watched pelicans and dolphins, and we were not in the condo that much. I realize these are privately owned condos, but the management agency needs to do a better job in keeping abreast of conditions there. I don't feel I got my money's worth and will not likely rent from them again.

While we had not been able to perform a deep clean on this unit prior to your arrival, housekeeping should have realized that the remotes needed batteries and there should not have been any dust, dirt, or crumbs anywhere in the unit. “Relaxing stay at Navarrw, Fl.”
My husband I visited Navarre, Fl for the second time. We have always been highly impressed with Dale Peterson rentals (DP) as they are top notch. Unfortunately we had issues with the door code when we arrived and that was frustrating. The staff at DP was very helpful and concerned and wanted to get us into the condo asap. We also were disappointed with the condition of the condo. Ceiling in living room almost appeared to have mold. The floors and baseboards were not very clean and the shower curtain appeared to have mold on it. We don't mean to pick the condo apart because we still had an amazing time. Just not up to par with DP rentals we have stayed at before. Otherwise the condo provided all the kitchen gadgets and amenities. The view is amazing! Loved watching the dolphins. Bed is quite comfy also. We love the Navarre area. Fishing pier next to condo is great to walk out on. Nice little beach store in middle summer wind building. Will return to that area in the future.

We have always had good luck with Dale E Peterson properties. Our condo had everything we could ask for, we enjoyed the beach and pool. It is really nice having the beach service, it limits what we have to carry down to the beach ourselves. There was two issues for me, the coffee maker has a huge amount of mold in the water reservior and the dishwasher makes a lot of noise. Those 2 issues aside, we loved it!!!

The only complaint I have is that there was a sticky film on all of the surface areas (tables, counter tops) we had to wipe everything down. But the location was great! So close to the beach!!! Latoya, ext 326 (who helped me make the reservations) was the best!! She was so helpful, courteous and even gave us a discount on the room for the duration of our stay, and when I called to extend our stay she was there to help me again! The trip was much needed and was so relaxing with the view and constant ocean sounds.

Great views of the ocean. The condo is well furnished. We greatly enjoyed watching the sun rise each morning from the balcony.
Had a little problem with the door code, probably because my letter said we were in the center building, when we actually were in the first. After a long day of traveling, it was a bit frustrating, but a few calls to the agency and we were able to check in. I would rent the same unit from Dale Peterson again.
