Very Good

“Comfort, function and location!”

Reviewed 29 Jan 2014

We stayed for the best part of 18 days in Jan 2014 for a winter escape from Sydney. We had 4 people sharing, 2 adults + 2 children aged 10 and 8. We found the property very comfortable and the amenities most adequate. On arrival the microwave was broken but a call to Whistler Superior Properties people had it sorted out by the next day. The firdge is on the old side and was a little noisy but we were all exhausted every day from activities so it never bothered any of us. The stove too is a little dated and just about all the electric elements tilted off the horizontal by a degree or 2 but this never got in the way of cooking our meals. The dinning table was adequate for the four of us. Very clean throughout the property with everything that anyone would need for self catering. Beds were comfortable and the sofa bed was easy to make and put away daily. An ironing board and plenty of hangers plus extra pillows await. The free wifi too was great to have also! The neighbours above us were noisy every morning but this might have been because they routinely walked on there heals or because they had already put on their ski boots (not really sure)! Otherwise the property was very quite, very dark when the shutters were closed (note not all of the shutters are able to close completely though), and the heating was great! Carpets and tiles throughout were very clean too! The property is in one of the wings so requires quite a walk form the main entrance however we all slipped in and out the side (fire) exit most days because it was so nearby or entered via the car park if via bus stop. The location is great! A short walk to Blackcomb lifts and the Fairmont, restaurants, a pub, cafe and other things are close too. Loved the spa and the pool but did not try the gym. Car park on the lower level was easily accessed but did cost $14-$15 per day. The staff were all really great people who were very freindly and will to help night and day. Highly recommended!

If you come to Whistler to ski/ride this is the place to stay as you are next to the chair lift. This room is nicely decorate, has everything that you may need to make yourself at home and the size is perfect for a family with small kids or even better for just a couple. The only thing I would suggest is to upgrade the TV in the living room (wall mounted maybe) and also a TV in the bedroom would be a nice upgrade, but that's just me criticizing.

“Quiet place to stay while in Whistler”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2013

The rooms were fine, and everything was clean. The only problem we had was water leaked out of the dining-table light, from the unit above. This wasn't room #247's fault. Because the Glacier Lodge is in the Upper Village side (Blackcomb side), it was very quiet. Which was what we wanted. This room faced the courtyard, and it wasn't noisy like I thought it might be, but there wasn't much of a view, either. The furniture looked nice but wasn't particularly comfortable, and it was really hot without any aC (2nd week of July). I felt deceived when I found out the washer/dryer were down the hall. I asked specifically before we booked the room if it had a w/d, and I didn't mean a community pair, I actually wanted it in the unit, and didn't want to have to get quarters to wash my clothes. Good or bad, the room was 135 long steps from the elevator. This kept noisy foot traffic down, since only two units were beyond this unit, but there is no quick trip up to the room. Even using the stairs only saved about 40 steps. But, the worst part of the transaction was checking-in. The Whistler Superior Properties is no where near the Glacier Lodge. If you show up at the lodge, the front desk workers can't do anything to help you, and really didn't seem to care to help, even if they could. The earliest check-in time was listed as 4:00 pm, and the Whistler Superior Properties office closed at 5:00, so at 5:15 we had to call them from a phone booth and wait for someone to open up the office and give us the room keycode and sign the paperwork. It took 1.5 hrs to check-in and get our gear up to our room, once we arrived in Whistler. Stupid long time. We're planning on going to Whistler again, but won't use Whistler Superior Properties. If there is a problem with our room or we need help with something, I want the office to be open past 5:00 and be onsite. We had a great trip biking, shopping and eating, but the accommodations were the low point.
