“Needs updating”

We love Northstar. This specific unit would be great with a relatively small investment in updates. The blankets were old, the kitchen supplies were ancient and dirty. (rust on the cheese shredder and some of pots and pans; many of the plates, glasses and bowls were found dirty, etc) But most importantly, the tv in the living room was too small to watch the Olympics from the couch! I couldn't read any of the results without getting off the couch. On the plus side, the master bed in this unit was *very* comfortable. The bed and bathroom linens were fresh and good, except for linens for pull-out couch. Blanket for pull-out couch bed was really old. Would I go back to this unit? In order to stay at Northstar, yes, I would.

The furnishings, appliances and carpets were a little dated but everything you need is there. Decent for short stays but if you're staying for a week, might recommend a more updated unit. If you're not picky and price conscious this place works very well. The sleeper sofa could use a new one, mattress sags in the middle. Fridge was extremely noisy, interfering with sleep if you're sleeping in the living room on the sleeper sofa

“Well located, just right”

We stayed for a few nights in the Stoney Creek Northstar #49. We had a little trouble finding it (if we had taken the second exit fro the highway to Whistler Village we would have found it right away). Check-in was simple, efficient and friendly, they were ready for us. At our request they put us out of the way of any noise, resulting in us being right at the back up against the highway. But it is quiet at night. The condo is large, well appointed, and we were quite pleased with it. A large bedroom with a bed that seemed more like a double than a queen, but worked well anyway. The living room was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed, although we only cooked a few meals. parking was directly below the unit, making it easy to get your stuff into the condo. Location is perfect, right across from the marketplace and the Village walk. Might be a long walk to ski lifts, don't know. A few things could have been better, but we would go back anyway: - the fridge makes the weirdest gurgling sound after you close the door. Sounds like it's dying, but it works. - the cleaners need to be retrained... dirty sock and dustballs under the couch, for example, stuff under the bed - needs some drywall repairs in the bedroom - holes in the screens let in bugs These are minor things, the place was perfect for our needs.
