Welcome to the Cinque Terre ! If you are wanting to explore the beauty and atmosphere of the Gulf of the Poets and the Cinque Terre National Park, Blackberry Cottage is the perfect agriturismo location for visiting this corner of paradise between Tuscany and Liguria, arguably the most beautiful regions in Italy.

If you love being near the seaside and walking, Blackberry Cottage will enchant you. From the terrace every morning over breakfast you can enjoy the fantastic panoramic view over the Poets Gulf. Full of energy, walkers can then set out towards Riomaggiore or Portovenere following the marked hiking paths, one of which starts almost from outside the house. Bird-watchers will be enchanted too. But if you prefer to take it easy and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, we suggest you relax in a deck chair on one of the terraces in the garden.

The Cottage

From a 17th century tower you can overlook the Poets Gulf. The panorama seems never ending, with the Lerici Castle and the Apuan Alps to the East and Tuscany coast to the South.

Local farmers say that on a clear day after a storm you can even make out Pisa leaning tower! We have never succeeded, but perhaps with luck and a good telescope you might be more fortunate.

Blackberry Cottage consists of a tower, in which are 4 bedrooms on three floors, and an 18th century single storey extension, which incorporates kitchen, dining area and a small sitting area next to an open fireplace. It can sleep up to 8, distributed in two double bedrooms and two bedrooms each with robust pine bunk beds. There are also a newly refurbished bathroom and a small bathroom at the first floor. It is ideally suited for two couples with children, or for a group of friends.

As you can see in the photo gallery, Blackberry Cottage has been fitted out with care and it is fully equipped (including washing machine and satellite TV), because it is not only designed for renting; we love to come ourselves to relax and take care of the garden, our great passion.

In summer one virtually lives in the garden, which consists of a series of connected terraces following the natural contours of the hillside. You can enjoy your meals under the vine-covered pergola or rest on a hammock under the big pine.

Interaction with guest

I live in Washington Dc, so unfortunately I cannot physically interact with you. There is a system of self-check-in and check-out with a lockbox on the main door, but I have a full team of people (housekeeper, gardener, cleaners, plumber, electrician, builder) living close to the Blackberry Cottage, who are able to come and help you in case of need. It’s enough to send me an email of text me and I can arrange everything for you.

You will find a house manual on the dining table.
Heating is not included and it costs 6 euro per cubic meter. There is a gas meter. For this purpose a 200 euro deposit is requested in the cold season.
