“Fabulous property, fabulous location.”
I'm late in posting this but our stay was great so it's worthy of this delayed review. Thank you Lisa for your prompt, friendly & professional interaction. It made the booking easy & positive. It was a relief to confirm the legal situation of the property too. This house provided us with a comfortable, well presented, spacious & convenient home away from home. We walked everywhere from this location, even with three 12yo boys who dislike walking! Times Sq,Radio City,Rockerfeller Ctr, & Broadway were an easy walk. The subway is convenient, & taxis were a quick ride too. Local restaurants & supermarkets are great. Whole Foods & Amish Market are nearby, and just down the street there's great restaurants & a wine bar. A pharmacy/convenience store for late night needs is just a block down 9th. The home is clean & well laid out, and the bathrooms easily serviced our group of 7. Beds & bedding were ridiculously fresh and comfortable and there was ample wardrobe/luggage space. The laundry was fully equipped, as was the kitchen, and we shared family dinners comfortably in the dining area. All appliances & electronics worked well, & the guest information folder provided good information on the property and local amenities. The only concern for some of us was that we felt the cold a bit in the living room. A few extra throws would have been handy. The heating is automatically set, & cannot be adjusted but it was mostly sufficient and not an overriding concern. It was certainly warm enough for sleeping in the bedrooms. The neighbourhood was good, felt safe enough walking at night. A bit noisy in a typical NYC way but nothing major. You could hear it from the rear bedrooms but it wasn't too distracting & we come from a quiet spot in the Blue Mountains. I definitely recommend this property & vendor to anyone seeking accommodation in Manhattan. When we return, we hope to book it again. Thanks Lisa for listing a rare legal gem in the heart of a fabulous city!
Amazing find in the city! Great location, great home, beautifully designed and perfect for a business trip with several team members. So many great things around and close to the Subway lines. Will definitely go back!
“Fantastic apartment in a Fantastic Location”
After viewing many properties prior to our visit to NYC it was a welcome relief , after travelling for 24hrs, to open the door and discover that "what you see advertised is exactly what you get". The apartment was spotless, very roomy, had everything you could possibly need (including ear plugs) and was in a fantastic location. We loved the keyless entry and having a separate room for washing facilities was a real bonus. The wifi (although slow at times) was very much appreciated by our two teenage children at the end of a long day. We made use of the many wonderful restaurants nearby and were within easy walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, Theatre district and Central Park. Lisa was very professional and prompt in answering all our questions and should be congratulated on her renovation of this beautiful 'legal' NYC apartment. We would love to return one day!
“Great location for fun or convention”
Only 5-6 block from time square and Rockafeller Ctr. 18 blocks and walkable on a nice day to the Javitts Ctr. Apt is roomy, 4 bedroom off Broadway, are you kidding. It's well appointed and tastefully decorated. Property manager is attentive. Convenient to local eateries after a long day. Good Italian place & Japanese two doors down as well as Irish Pub across the street. Treat yourself to hot pastrami @ "Carnegie Deli" 3 blocks up. Its a landmark... I stayed with 3 other sales associates on my sales force. Comparable to hotel pricing with extra room and comfort. Pick up a cab, Javitts shuttle bus or airport shuttle right around the corner at the Hilton or Hampton on 8th ave. I will stay again and recommend to friends and family.
“A great apartment in a great location”
My family of four recently stayed for a week at the apartment and had a fantastic time. There was plenty of room so that each could have their own space, if needed, and the apartment had everything we needed. Lisa, the managing agent, was great in terms of the dealing with us. I was initially apprehensive as we arrived but everything was as per the website. The apartment is really well located. A quick subway trip to Madison Square Garden to see the NY Knicks play, a 100 metre walk to see the Broadway show, 'Wicked', and an easy walk into the main shopping area. Also, the number of proximate restaurants was amazing in terms of both choice and quality. I would happily stay there again! [ And most importantly, my wife was really happy with my choice of apartment.]
“You won't find better...”
This apartment not only met but exceeded all of our expectations. The apartment is beautifully decorated, light and airy, with large bedrooms all with comfortable beds and luxurious linens. It had everything you could want to make your stay in New York perfect. It's location is fantastic, just minutes from Broadway, Times Square and the subway to take you anywhere else you want to go. It's surrounded by great neighbourhood restaurants, only steps from your front door which was perfect after a long day of NYC highlights.
“Fabulous location for Mother and her 3 Daughters to celebrate a”
Lisa has created a comfortable, well decorated, yet homey, brownstone walk-up with over 2000 sq. ft of living space on two floors. Each of the four bedrooms were spacious with ample exterior lighting. I loved the 9-10 foot ceilings and charming but steep and narrow stairway. I felt very secure with the entrance and location so we could walk to local restaurants and hop on the subway a few blocks away. Lisa always answered my phone calls and walked me through the code key instruction upon my arrival. I had a problem with the safe because after closing it one time the batteries operating the code combination fell into the safe but that too was resolved with the assistance of her husband, Grant. I personally don't like hotels, mainly because of not wanting io eat in a restaurant 2-3 times a day so the convenience of The amish Market made it easy to stock the fridge with breakfast and snack items. This will always be my first choice to stay when visiting Manhattan. Like a previous renter said, the secret of where to stay is out.
“Fabulous apartment - like a second home”
I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to stay in such a clean, comfortable, roomy and incredibly well-located apartment during our recent stay in Manhattan. We were two families of 9 people and found the apartment to be big enough where we could all have our privacy when we needed it, yet cozy enough to sit together at the end of the day and regroup. We were particularly happy with the kitchen, where we prepared a Passover Seder for 10 people and the dining area where we all sat comfortably for the meal. Lisa was incredibly responsive and thought of virtually every detail, from toys for the kids in the living room to a full spice rack in the kitchen. She was even so kind as to find a hotel nearby for my mother at the last minute. When we had a slight problem with the hot water (which could have been our fault), she responded immediately and brought over a repair man to fix the temperature setting. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of drawers and closets in both the bedrooms and bathrooms. There is one bedroom that doesn't have an external window, but it was still light and airy and wasn't an issue for us. The location of the apartment was perfect (just down the street from the Gershwin Theater - we even won the Wicked lottery!) and there are many wonderful restaurants right on that block. I found the electronic lock to be convenient with so many of us going in and out at different times and the nights and early mornings were surprisingly quiet considering the busy location and the pipe repairs currently being carried out on the street. All in all, it was a wonderful place and helped make our stay in New York very special and memorable. Lisa couldn't be more professional and thoughtful.
“We just loved it!”
We had a girls weekend in NY to celebrate a 40th birthday. We feel so fortunate that we found this beautiful place to stay in! It fit all 8 of us comfortably and the location was fantastic! The rooms were all a great size and nicely decorated. Everything was so clean and perfect! Honestly, I would recommend this place to anyone and I'm very picky! We really really loved it! Beautiful.
“My NYC vacation rental secret is out...”
I write this vacation rental review almost half heartedly as my new found vacation rental secret is now out. Having rented this property for a group of 8 lifelong friends, we honestly could not have been more delighted with the accommodations. Instantaneously we felt right at home and treated it as it was truly our own (I hope others will continue to do this, as I would love to return again one day). The space and household supplies were obviously well thought out. We had mugs and a coffee maker and even an iPod speaker at our fingertips to enjoy our morning coffee before heading out to see the city. Initially I thought we might run into problems with 8 people getting ready in the morning but the separated washroom set-up made for easy use of space. The rooms were well designed with comfortable beds and lots of storage space. A special thanks to Lisa for her professionalism and answering all of our questions in a timely fashion. She's really done an outstanding job of decorating the space and thinking of all those fine details like the books in the rooms and earplugs. We suggested a couple other small ideas that we thought might help add to others stay (ie. a nice blanket throw for the living sofa and perhaps some coasters to keep the space looking fresh). Upon our arrival we actually crossed paths with the property cleaners who were lovely ladies and left the space spotless and smelling refreshed. I could go on and on about the location but others have already touched on this. I will share one highlight of our trip that included a food tour of Greenwich Village and Soho (Foods of NYC Tours). It was so interesting, informative and especially tasty! Overall, you really can't go wrong with this property. It is in the perfect location for walking and subway, and was just a delight to return to at the end of the day.
