“Out of this World”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2015

Casa dos Cisnes is magnificent. The villa transcended our expectations in every respect. The colonial-style design is expansive but intimate, the sublime decor is imbued with a tasteful Mexican aesthetic, and the nouveau Mexican cuisine was certainly on a par (if not better) than the gourmet food we tasted in PV's most acclaimed restaurants - you really don't ever have to leave the villa to revel in the traditions of Mexico. The views from pretty much everywhere in the villa are simply breathtaking. The staff was extraordinary and discreet - they seemed to preempt our every wish or need. The tranquil location is perfect. We spent our mornings exploring remote nearby beaches, whale watching, and experiencing PV's cultural sights then retreated to our sumptuous villa to relax with a margarita by the infinity pool. Even using the gym is not a chore - you are surrounded by tropical birds and flowers and the Pacific Ocean views are spectacular. The spacious bedrooms and myriad living/dining spaces make this a great option for groups or families. We hope to return.

“Pure luxury in Puerto Vallarta”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2014

We just got back from a week's stay at the Cas Dos Cisnes. All I can say is "Wow!". From the minute you arrive, every aspect of your comfort is addressed by the amazing staff. Pepe, Elvira and Chef Martin go above and beyond to make sure you never want for anything. The house is spotless at all times and the meals by Chef Martin are out of this world! The hand-carved seahorse he made out of watermelon peel for my 7-year-old daughter was a big hit. The house itself has wonderful colonial architecture. The views from every level are breathtaking and you are high enough on the hillside to see for miles across the bay. The recent addition to the poolside cabana opens up that area and make it a very comfortable place to spend countless hours. As for amenities, there is a great sound system throughout the house complete with XM Satellite. There are plenty of board games for the kids and we had some great times as a family re-connecting over a game of Monopoly. We were able to watch all our TV shows on the satellite TV and we always felt extremely safe knowing there is staff on hand during the day and a state-of-the-art security system at night. Puerto Vallarta is a very safe place anyway, but it is always nice to have that added sense of security. The beach is about a 10 minute drive down the hill. Budget about $30 USD round trip each time. The beach has lots of great activities including jet skis, banana boats and para sailing. We also took a day's excursion to the local snorkeling site about 20 minutes from the harbor. Close by is a tequila factory tour (good fun though a very short experience), bungy jumping which my teenagers were able to knock off the bucket list, and horseback riding through the jungles. The highlight of the trip for sure was the day trip to Sayulita (1 hour each way) where we learned how to surf. In closing, we loved every minute of our stay at Casa Dos Cisnes.

“Another Excellent Stay”

Reviewed 16 Nov 2013

We stayed at Casa Dos Cisnes for the first time in 2011 and we had such a great time that we had to return at the end of October 2013. The second time did not disappoint. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the house is gorgeous. We will be returning soon.

“Perfect Experience marred by Spy Cameras”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2013

The house is spectacular, the staff was great. The food was superb. Spectacular setting, although not convenient to town, it is a $5 cab ride away. Hopefully, they get the popping breaker problem solved - it is really irritating to fix something like that in the dark. It happened several times. The biggest issue that I have with the place is that there are cameras hidden everywhere. If I am renting a house, I want to be able to walk around naked, or not confine my amorous activities to dark recesses that are not being patrolled by cameras. I dont appreciate being on display, I dont appreciate that my movements are being monitored. My privacy was invaded andI was not able to relax. I would not rent here again.

Response from the owner Dear Guest, We’re sorry that you felt your stay was disturbed by our security system. Casa Dos Cisnes is a high-end, luxury villa and our number one priority at Casa Dos Cisnes is the comfort, security, and privacy of our guests. Guests inquiring about the villa have from time to time expressed concerns over safety in Mexico based on news reports they have read. While Puerto Vallarta is very safe, we have installed an alarm system which includes security cameras aimed at access points of the house. The cameras are only located at entrances and exits to the property as well as the staircases by which an intruder could access the villa's various levels. There are no cameras in the guest quarters themselves nor do the cameras view guest activities in public areas of the house other than the access points noted above. The security system is the same as those used by destination hotels and other luxury properties in Mexico, the U.S., and elsewhere in the world and provides for monitoring of access points in the case the alarm system is activated. In no case are guest activities viewed unless they trip the alarm system. As owners, we frequently stay at the villa and would be equally concerned if our privacy would be easily violated by the security cameras; please be assured that the cameras are only there for guest safety. In addition to the security system, we provide live-in household staff, who both serve the guests during the day and evenings and ensure that the property is properly secured daily. We apologize if the security system caused you concern or if the above was not adequately explained during your stay. We hope that you will reconsider staying at Casa Dos Cisnes and would welcome additional comments and concerns.

“Beautiful, luxurious Villa with amazing ocean views and staff fo”

Reviewed 29 Oct 2013

Casa Dos Cisnes is absolutely gorgeous. The richness and beauty of the property and furnishings is not adequately represented in the photos. Breath taking ocean views from every room. Each bedroom is equally beautiful and comfortable. The staff is very accommodating and really wants to meet your every need. The food was delicious and we were spoiled every time we sat down for a meal. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and looking forward to another visit. This was our first Villa experience and we a little nervous to stray away from vacationing at well known hotels. Michelle was available to answer any questions over the phone and very responsive to questions through emails. I am so glad that we had this experience at Casa Dos Cisnes. Hands down no comparison to even the finest hotels. A great Villa is definitely the way to enjoy a relaxing vacation.

“A great family reunion!”

Reviewed 17 Jan 2013

Our stay was absolute fanstastic, we enjoyed every minute of it and we are contiplating going back to Casa Dos Cisnes. The house was great and so was the staff. The Chef, Jose Carlos and Elvira made our stay an absolute success. One comment, I personally have is a hand rail going down to the pool. I missed that and it would cost very little to install. Thank you for a wonderful family reunion. I hope to return one day. Best regards from Karen and Jorgen Kierkegaard Victoria, Canada The reservation was made under my daughter name: Ann Norgaard

“Quite possibly the most deluxe vacation ever!”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2012

We Loved everything about our stay at Casa Dos Cisnes. We traveled with our four children (ages 7, 6, 4, and 2) as well as my mom and another friend...and couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. Our other option would have been to stay in three cramped hotel rooms, but this was by far the best way to go. Chef Rodrigo was terrific in preparing our meals to our liking and Elvira was very attentive to all our needs. The view was amazing and we even got to see some whales. The children enjoyed the pool and the adults loved coming home in the afternoon to chips, fresh salsa and margaritas! The home had all the amenities -- including family games for us to play at night. We made some wonderful memories here. Because of all the stairs, we did feel we had to be extra careful with our children, especially the two year old. But there was a little safety gate (although it wasn't childproof) and they did provide a high chair and pack & play for us to use. I'm giving the location 4 stars instead of 5 because it is quite high up on the mountain (which is great for the view) but we weren't able to walk to shops and restaurants. It was a short drive to old town though and getting a cab was easy enough. Overall it was indeed a very luxurious vacation and we can't wait to go back to Casa Dos Cisnes!

“Better than a 5-star resort!!!”

Reviewed 31 May 2012

We arrived at the villa and when we walked in it took our breath away! I have been to many 5 star resorts but this house is simply gorgeous and has multimillion dollar views! The finishes are all high end and the artwork is simply incredible. The custom lighting throughout the house and the sound system gave the house even more appeal in the evening. Even after a few days there were still wonderful details to discover about this home. We had a few families staying with us and we never felt like we were on top of each other. The house is very spacious and you can seek refuge somewhere at all times and look out at the gorgeous view over the bay! The location is wonderful and an easy cab ride to town or down to the beach. The chef prepared the best meals ever! The staff was very attentive. The bed linens were top notch. We felt like royalty. We had many children with us and the house was suitable although maybe not the most ideal if you don't want to babysit them at all times because of the stairs. Also, the pool is a good size but my kids would have preferred something a bit larger only because we had 5 kids with us so it was a tad small. But we didn't care too much because the house was so gorgeous we felt that it was definitely worth it!!! I would recommend this villa and would stay here again without a doubt! The owners are very professional and attentive. I can't imagine anyone, even the fussiest of people, ever being disappointed.

“Great stay at a great spot w/ A+ service”

Reviewed 21 May 2012

We had a group of 10 and the service we had from the staff was like we were staying at a 5 star Hotel, maybe better. Great views, easier to get to the beach than what I thought it was going to be and the house itself was very comfortable. Being up on the hill made everyone feel safer but we never had a hint of an issue. Would like to go back sometime soon.
