“Winter Wonderland!”

Reviewed 11 Dec 2013

What better way to celebrate a birthday than grabbing 8 of your best gal pals and heading north for a magical, winter weekend in Ontario's hinterland! Everything went super well and we all had a truly fantastic, memorable, lovely time. We couldn't have asked for a better winter weekend. Lots of snow, picturesque views, cozy fires, sits in the hot tub with snow softly falling, starry skies, warm blankets at night - it all was wonderful. We even cooked a turkey Saturday night with all the trimmings! Thanks to Ellie for being such a great communicator, making everything so clear, and for letting us into the truly magnificent space that is Trenanthia Cottage. It is such a gem! And, special huge thanks to Randy (property manager) who got everything ready for our arrival. The power had gone out a couple of hours before we were due to appear, so we were a little apprehensive rolling up to the cottage, but the power had just come back on when we showed up. Even if it hadn't, Randy was in the middle of brainstorming power work-arounds and thinking about generators. When we arrived, fires were roaring, a Birthday Banner was hanging up in the dining room, lights were on, and he was doing a final check to make sure things were back to normal. Randy was so warm and welcoming when we arrived, and we felt very secure and well taken care of. We are still trading photos, stories, laughs, and memories from the weekend ... and are crossing our fingers that we'll find ourselves there again very soon!

“Perfect family get together.”

Reviewed 22 Nov 2013

We visited Trenanthia cottage to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday, the location needed to suit all of our party ranging in ages from 4 years to 90 years old. The cottage did not disappoint, plenty of space for everyone to do there own thing with large spaces for all the family to be together. The kids loved going out on the lake, plenty of watercraft and even more importantly plenty of life jackets. The view out over the lake is just stunning and constantly changing. The house itself is well equipped the laundry room made life a lot easier. From the first time I contacted the people at the cottage the service has been superb, friendly and informative. Randy who looks after the cottage was really helpful and friendly. We decided to use the linen service as we were travelling from the uk so didn't want to have to worry about taking sheets, this was really helpful, as was the end if rental cleaning service. Our whole experience with Trenanthia cottage was brilliant and I have already recommended it to friends. It was a perfect base for birthday celebrations and to explore the Muskoka area. If I had to use one word to sum up our trip it would simply be 'amazing'!! Thank you Trenanthia family.

Response from the owner Aw thanks for taking a moment to write this review, we really appreciate it. You'd be welcome back with open arms any time and it was our pleasure to host your family's celebrations :)

“What a wonderful way to discover Muskoka !”

My daughter having done extensive research into visiting Canada for the first time, discovered "Trenanthia" - all the way through the booking process, she met nothing but help ! We, as a family of 11, were coming to Canada to celebrate my mother's 90ieth birthday! What we found was a wonderful haven, everything one needed on hand, if not "there was a man that knew"!! Randy - The environs of Gravenhurst were amazing + Orillia, Torrance Barrens & Bala to name but a few -all gave a wonderful cross-section of experiences !What ever your age, this cottage has everything you need & more! The age range of our party was from 90yrs - 4 yrs - there was something for all.The ease of the cottage just made the holiday that little bit extra!!

Response from the owner Well what can we say! When you travel such a long way you should expect nothing less! We're thrilled to have lived up to your expectations and would be thrilled to have you back again! Thanks so much for taking the time to review us :)

“Wonderful Vacation Cottage”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2013

My friends and I spent a weekend at Trenanthia cottage in October 2013 and we simply loved it. The communication with the owner was seamless. At our arrival, we were very pleasantly surprised by the welcome basket. The cottage was bright, comfortable, and spacious enough to accommodate our group of 10. It was a very well maintained property, with beautiful furniture and original paintings on the walls. There is a lot that you can do during the day: we liked to walk along the winding forest road, enjoyed the paddle boat and the canoe for a trip in the lake, and indulged ourselves in the hot outdoor jacuzzi. For our peace of mind, we opted for the cleaning package at the end of our stay. We will certainly be coming back!

Response from the owner Hello! Thanks so much for this kind review. Thanksgiving is a special weekend, so we're delighted that you had such a great time. We'd welcome you back, it would be with our absolute pleasure. Thanks again :)

“Fall heaven”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2013

We stayed at this lovely cottage the first week of October 2013. The residence was fantastic location perfect just a quick couple of hours from Toronto. We arrived to a very warm welcome basket and a visit from Randy who was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the week with our kids, extended family and our 2 goldens. Volleyball on the sand, fires by the water and exploring in the paddle boats were all daily activities after a relaxng coffee in the hot tub over looking the fall colours. The week was very, very enjoyable right until the end as we were able to take advantage of the cleaning service to maximize our family time right until the end. Missing the cold beer on the wrap around patio as I type this. Return for us is a must. lOved it

Response from the owner Thanks soooo much for taking the time to write this. Not only do we hugely appreciate your feedback, but we feel really happy to hear that the location, the facilities and our services were all so enjoyable for you guys. Please do come back, you'll get a very very warm welcome :)

“Great location, wonderful stay”

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Trenathia Cottage. It was clean, spacious, it was a good location not too far from the GTa and it had lots of things to do. Their pictures are an accurate display of the venue. The customer service was exceptional with frequent conversations and quick responses. They gave clear instructions with lots of details which i loved. We were also welcomed with a nice variety of gifts including wine! My family and I will definitely return to Trenathia any day!

Response from the owner We're so happy that you'd like to return and visit us soon, as we'd love to have you back any day. It makes us really happy to know that our customer service was so appreciated by you guys. Hurry back ;)

“fabulous”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2013

We stumbled quite by accident onto Trenanthia by searching the internet for a place close to our home base that would accommodate a group of people who were looking to relax and recharge. The house met all our needs and then some. The rooms were comfortable and warm, there were ample beds (with a super master suite), and the décor was fascinating. We used the canoe and paddle boat to explore the lake, and the hot tub was great for relaxing. We enjoyed the scenery so much we never got around to playing horseshoes or badminton! Complete with beautiful sunsets and wonderful full moon over the lake. The kitchen had all the cookware and utensils we could possibly want, and everything was well taken care of and clean. The property manager went above and beyond to look after us. Great place, great location, great time! We loved it and will be back!

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind comments, put a big smile on our face :) We're so happy that you loved our original decor as much as we do, as we put loads of thought and attention into it. We really enjoyed having you stay and look forward to you welcoming you back ... Come back soon ! :)

“Great location, awesome space!”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2013

The cottage is just like you see in the pictures, we have stayed twice with groups of around 10-12 people and have never felt cramped! The location, on an inlet of the lake is absolutely beautiful, and you can take full advantage of it with the many boats available to use! We really enjoyed the hot tub on the deck with full view of the lake, as well as the bbq for making fun summer meals and enjoying the expansive yard. The owners are very communicative and there is instructions for everything so you don't have to worry about a thing! The property manager is super friendly and gave us a quick walk through when we arrived and before we left which was very helpful for if we have any quick questions- yet they are also very good about being available if anything comes up during your stay. Would definitely recommend!

Response from the owner Hello! Thank you! We're so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed both of your stays with us. You guys were great guests, great fun and we're looking forward to seeing you again soon :)

“Great escape that was still close to home!”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2013

I celebrated my 30th birthday here with my friends and we had such a great time. There was so much space for all 11 of us. The hot tub was amazing! We caught fish right at the dock. We took the cleaning service which was very reasonable and added to the stress-free feeling. My friends took their dogs and they enjoyed the place very much. I loved the "general store" located inside the cottage. Beds were very comfy. Portable air conditioner was there. We didn't know how to work the bbq and help came right away. Would definitely stay here again :) Thank you Ellie and family!

Response from the owner Hello Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We remember you guys really well and you were an absolute pleasure to deal with at all times. Good job that we could help out with the BBQ, what with all those fish you guys caught ;) Hurry back soon, we'd love to have you stay again. Thanks again from us all :)

“Friendly people and lovely place”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2013

We went up to Trenanthia for a weekend in april, a group of 10 old friends from university days. We were so lucky, the weather had been really bad, and the guys at Trenanthia had made a real effort to call us every day with an update on the flooded roads. No worries in the end, it was pretty dry and we got there just fine. The location is beautiful and the views over the lake (especially in the evening) were amazing. The place is really well-equipped and there was plenty of room for us. We cooked in the evenings, then lit a fire and played games. April was an awesome time to visit and we'll be looking to return again for sure :)

Response from the owner Hello We remember you well! Thanks for taking the time to review your stay and we will look forward to welcoming you back again soon :)
