“Could not have been better!!!”
We were headed to St. Catharines for the Pan Am Games and were looking for a place near the Henley Race Course. We completely lucked out. We could not have found a better place to stay. We stayed in the Riesling Cottage and it was perfect for the three of us. We had PLENTY of space!! When we arrived, we were greeted at the farm stand by Kathryn, with a warm welcome. She took us to the cottage and we fell in love instantly. Inside there was fresh fruit, baked goods, fresh eggs, milk, OJ, butter, cereal, granola bars, wonderful spices... everything you need for a wonderful breakfast. For dinner, all you need is the meat. We were so impressed with the variety of spices that were available. Kathryn thought of everything!! The bedrooms were the perfect size and had a nice closet for our belongings. The bathroom had big wonderful towels, hair dryer and all the extras you might need and find in a fancy hotel. The back deck was a dream! The view of Lake Ontario was gorgeous and the sunsets were even better, if that is possible. There was a nice picnic table out back and a fire pit with a few benches around it. The farm stand was so convenient and had so many wonderful selections. One of our visits to the farm stand, we asked if they had any kale and one of the darling girls walked across the driveway into the rows of kale and pulled a bunch out of the ground. Can't get much fresher than that!! They also had the most delicious fresh fruit yogurt they made at the farm stand. We even walked through the rain to get some. All in all, it was one of our best vacations. We got to see incredible rowing (brag alert...our son got a bronze medal) and we stayed at the most awesome cottage ever. We will definitely be back. It is an easy 50 minute drive from Buffalo and there are so many spots to visit while you are there... Niagara Falls, Toronto, Niagara on the Lake, etc. Thank you Kathryn and Farmer Joe!!!
“Our stay at the Lakeview cottage could not have been any better!”
Seriously, you will be very happy with the cottage, the view of the lake, the fun filled evenings roasting marshmallows/making 'smores in the firepit and taking advantage of all the sites in the area. The location is perfect because you are away from the touristy areas, yet a short drive to them. From Niagara on the Lake, to the Falls, to the other areas of interest, this is a perfect location. I might point out that Kathryn and Joe are just plain very nice people and there to make your stay a happy one. The incredible fresh fruit and baked good awaiting us on our arrival were a very nice touch and incredibly delicious. We went back for more! The cottage itself and the furnishings are very nice and it has everything you need, including a grill which we used. Thanks!
“Relaxing private retreat with a beautiful view”
This cottage was an idyllic retreat after the bustle of Toronto and was an ideal jumping off point for exploring the greater-Niagara area. Joe and Kathryn are incredibly hospitable and gracious hosts who have thought of everything their guests need. They even brought over some children's furniture for our young children to use. The fridge was amazingly stocked with breakfast food, including fresh from the farm and their onsite bakery - eggs, cinnamon buns, pancake mix and strawberries. It was lovely to make breakfast overlooking the lake before a busy day of site seeing. Dinner on the deck overlooking Lake Ontario after barbecuing with the grill and grill equipment provided, the only sounds were the wind, the water and the birds - a shocking contrast to the bustle of Toronto which we could see directly across the lake! I would highly recommend Nokara Farms cottages and only wish it wasn't so far from Los Angeles so I could visit again soon.
“Amazing Views and getaway close to Vineyards”
I traveled with my partner and another couple with a baby. We had such an amazing time at Riesling cottage - NoKaRa Farms. We were warmly welcomed by Kathryn on her bike and guided us to the cottage. The cottage has a stunning view of Lake Ontario with a fab sunset view. It was kitted out with all breakfast necessities including fresh strawberries and farm fresh eggs! We also tried the butter tarts and a pie from their store which didn't last long. Over all we had a very relaxing time and I would highly recommend this if you are thinking about staying in the area for a weekend.
“Lovely Lakeside vinayards cottage with great view”
It's a unique vineyard cottage, very good for small group of friends and family. We went there with our family of 4 adults and 2 kids, it's a right size for us. Kathryn is very nice and warm , and lovely. We like the organic eggs and strawberries she provided from her farm. The lake view from the cottage with a big grass ground and red chairs which makes the vocation stay super nice and relaxed. There is a very good sandy beach 5 mins' drive from the cottage. Our kids love it. This cottage is highly recommended.
“Beautiful cottage with stunning views of Lake Ontario”
It was so lovely to be welcomed by Kathryn and the spectacular views. We found home baked goods in the kitchen and a variety of options to make a feast for our breakfasts. Fresh eggs from the farm's chickens and the carton of strawberries were my favourite inclusions. The lakeside location was very spectacular and we all enjoyed sitting on the deck in the sunshine or circling the bonfire at night while the lights of Toronto twinkled in the distance.
Wonderful, amazing Nokara Farms. The setting on the lake is breath taking, the cabin is perfect in everyway. The breakfast items provided cover everyone's taste buds. Katherine and Farmer Joe were so nice and so accommodating. We would highly recommend this lovely vacation rental.
“we had a simply lovely time”
Can't say enough about how perfectly equipped and situated the cottage we stayed in is. We had a perfect stay, more than enough space, generously equipped and beautifully appointed. Joe and Kathryn couldn't have been more welcoming, tending to our every need. The fridge was stocked with a variety of delicious things for breakfast and a welcome hamper of farm fresh products awaited us upon arrival. All in all a delightful stay, one which we hope very much to repeat.
The 2 days we had at the Riesling Cottage was fantastic! Just steps from the water with the most fabulous view, and wine rows the other way. The owners were very helpful in setting up extra beds for the children, and we thoroughly enjoyed the freshly baked goodies when we arrived, as well as the fact that the place was spotless. We hope to be back!
We stayed one week at Nokara Farms as my son was getting married in St. Catharines. Our stay was delightful; location was beautiful overlooking the lake, the cottage was cozy and filled with many extras. It was a peaceful and relaxing time. Our family enjoyed our stay so very much! The onsite bakery and fruit stand were a bonus! The hosts- Kathryn and Joe -were kind and accommodating, and ensured our stay was the best ever. Thank you , we will be back!
