“Excellent value”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2013

This flat is in Le Marais. Our family (2 adults, 3 children) stayed here 7 nights. It's conveniently located near the République metro station. There were no streetwalkers or homeless people in our neighborhood. For us, the flat was simply a safe place to sleep, bathe and eat breakfast. "0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o"'s review is partly correct. Water temperature can be controlled, but only if you don't use water elsewhere. It's a hard habit to break, but not that hard. There's no shower curtain, which - while very Parisian - is odd since the owner rents to foreigners. There's now a mop that can be used, but the floor usually just ended up wet. (The owner should just install shower curtains.) There's no drier and it does take time for things to dry (two days). But we didn't care: we had plenty of clothes, and only washed our underwear (the washer is a Laden Ev1180). There's a drying rack (an expandable accordion) above the bath tub. We did not have a problem with sheets and towels. Our flat manager (AJ Flat Services - very good) brought clean sheets and towels without holes when we met. Simply make sure the manager gives you clean sheets and towels when you meet! Also, get the WiFi password and test it before he leaves (our WiFi worked fine). While street noise was (as Jraymond says) not an issue, noise from neighbors was. The walls are thin and the floors creak. We heard neighbors moving about at night. That was a problem the 1st night: our three daughters would wake up. But we got used to it by the 2nd night. There's no air conditioning, but that's only be a problem if there's a heat wave (I would have had to buy fans). I recommend that you walk through the flat inspecting the appliances and furnishings with the manager. We found a broken coffee pot and toilet lid after he left.

“Bright, large wonderful apartment in Paris”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2011

After staying in a hotel in Paris last year, we were looking for more budget friendly accomodation this time because we travelled with our teenage daughter. This rental met and exceeded all of our wishes. It has great kitchen, with an above average sized fridge, washing machine and great stove. The bathroom was generous in size with a deep soaker tub. The bedroom were all well appointed and the windows to the street side are doubled to prevent noise. They also have shutters to decrease light. All rooms are large and the apartment felt bright, airy and free of any dampness. The only drawbacks were we never figured out how to use the free wifi (our daughter just went up the street to McDonalds at Republique for wifi), so make sure at check in to get that sorted with your host. We also found that while the livingroom/parlor furniture was stylish, it was a bit small for us to all sit at and not very comfortable. Most traveller will not require couches, we just happened to stay during World Cup and wanted to watch the matches. We felt very at home in this rental, and we were very near all necessary shops (grocery, druggist, postal etc), 2 metro stations and being on a higher floor (they have an elevator/lift) was super because of the view. If you travel by car, there is a parking garage two short blocks away (by foot, less than 5 min)on Rue Temple. It's not easy to find intially (Rue Temple is one way street) but worth the effort because of the value/low cost, in-out privileges. This apartment felt very safe with it's security entrance and we never felt like tourists but felt right in the middle of the Parisian experience. This is a perfect apartment for a family to use!!
