Description

Experience rural Oregon in a secluded coastal estuary and woodland setting. The Cozy Cattail Vacation Rentals are located just 4 miles NE of Reedsport. The Cozy Cattail is most suitable for quiet nature loving guests. We're 5 miles inland from the Ocean where we get about 50% more summer sunshine than Winchester Bay, less wind than Florence and our temperature averages about 10 degrees cooler than the valley. If you're looking for a quiet secluded Getaway near the Oregon Dunes this is the perfect place to stay!

We now have 2 units to choose from.

The Cottage is most comfortable for 2-4 persons but will accommodate up to 6 persons and the Cabin will accommodate another 4.

The Cottage is a 2 bedroom home which comes fully furnished with 2 Queensize Beds, a Futon and Twin Sofa Sleeper. Comforters, blankets, sheets, and towels are supplied along with a washer and dryer. There's a DVD player with a selection of movies for your enjoyment as well as a Bose Wave radio/CD. And a phone for incoming and local calls. Due to the hillsides secluding our little valley there is usually no cell phone reception, internet or television reception at the Cottage. However there is intermittent cell phone reception sometimes available at the chairs by the dock.

Free Wifi available in town at The Myrtlewood Gallery.

The kitchen is completely redone with Myrtlewood Cabinets and is fully supplied with stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishes, pans, utensils, and dish soap. Just bring the groceries. We've got a large covered porch and a charcoal grill available for your use.

Please let us know if you are bringing a pet. There is a $50 Pet Fee which is added on after booking confirmation. We request that you bring no more than 2 adult dogs and if you have a new puppy please wait until they are well trained before bringing them here. For the comfort of Arya, the wildlife and our other guests we have a leash requirement for dogs that would otherwise run about and explore. Please keep your dog close and supervised at all times. And please Never leave them at the Cottage unattended and of course please pick up any pet mess so the next guests children don't step in it.

If you are traveling with more than one family you can also book The Cabin which is located ~100 yds from the Cottage and nestled behind the trees. (Pets, however, are Not allowed at the Cabin)

House Rules:

We entrust our home to your care and expect that you will keep it as clean as you found it.

Maximum 6 person occupancy. No unauthorized guests.

Limited Parking. No more than 2 vehicles please.

Please do not block the roadway.

Trailers are NOT recommended. If you are bringing a trailer, be aware that we do have a 10ft wide bridge with tight corners with a difficult approach. Trailers over 15 ft are not recommended as you may have some difficulty with the inside corner. Alternatively we can arrange parking for your trailer on our lot in town.

Most of our guests appreciate the peace and quiet. If we have other guests at the Cabin please keep the noise level down.

This rental is not for groups of young adults under the age of 24. Please let us know the nature of your trip if you'd like us to make an exception to the under age 24 rule.

No Smoking inside the house or elsewhere on the property or in the woods. OK on the concrete porch only. Please keep all ashes and butts in a fireproof receptacle.

No fireworks or open fires. Forest fire prevention is important during the summer since we live in the middle of the woods.

Rental of the property constitutes acceptance of the host's basic Rental Agreement.

Hi there! Our stay at the Cozy Cattail was memorable. There was plenty of room for our party of 4, with all of the comforts of home, tucked away in the woods. The porch was nice too. There were some outdoor areas to explore near the house, and it was conveniently located near to the coast and cute little towns for daytime excursions. Sharon and Gareth were gracious hosts. I'd recommend them and the Cozy Cattail any day! -Annie

I enjoyed feeding the deer. Canoeing and fishing here can't be beat! Talk about privacy! No crowds here. So quiet, you can listen to the birds as you enjoy the outdoors. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well appointed. I don't know what i enjoyed the most..conoeing up the stream, or walking, fishing, deer feeding, sawmill tour, gallery shopping, reading, deer feeding, hiking, hiking, sightseeing, trying local bakery Bigfoot? it was all wonderful! can't wait to do it again.Thank you Cattails1

We loved our stay at the Cozy Cattail. It was beautiful, quiet, and the amenities were great. We enjoyed a canoe ride in the wetlands. The kitchen has everything we needed, and the laundry in the cottage was very handy!

We've stayed here twice now and will again next year with our son (now 11) who loves it. The cottage is comfortable, nicely furnished, beautiful setting/garden, and very quiet. The kitchen and laundry areas are well equipped. The beds are really comfortable. Use of the canoe on the slough is a wonderful bonus. Many activities nearby - beach, hiking, etc, - but just hanging out on the covered porch or down by the water can use up many hours in a delightful way. Highest recommendation.

We had an excellent stay at the Cattail Cottage this summer. We went hiking, rafting, crabbing, fishing, and beachcombing. The Mast's went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The Cozy Cattail was a great place to stay. It is very clean, neat and tidy! It is better than the pictures online. Often times pictures online are not recent and depict places at their best, -- this is not the case with the Cozy Cattail. It is perfect! It offers a quiet setting with wildlife close by. It is conveniently located with the beach, fishing, crabbing and the sand dunes close by. We enjoyed our stay!

If you are looking to get away, get away to the Cozy Cattail. On a tidal slough off the Smith River close the Ocean, it offers the ability to enjoy natures beauty, local activities and sightseeing and retreat to a cozy haven. We go back as often as we can. Truely a special place for us.
