I was given a stay here as a present from my work colleagues - my wife got ill but we decided we needed to get away to help her recuperate. Arriving with our 21 year old daughter in a taxi arranged by Clare there were tourists outside on their way to the nearby Castle or Kafka Museum. We were apprehensive - an old door leading into an old building above shops, tourists and their noise and 3 flights of stairs. None of this turned out to be a problem - there are landings to rest on between each flight of stairs. The incentive was reaching the top - opening the door into the most beautiful modern flat with all necessary equipment, comfortable beds and sofa, wifi, double glazing so with the windows shut no noise from the outside, spacious rooms and.. ? that would have been enough but there was something really special - the view! All 3 of us spent ages looking out of the windows, just metres across to the famous Charles Bridget, empty in the morning and then later crammed with tourists and artists, or across to the variety of buildings in the old town and then watching them light up as it got dark, watching the boats up and down the river and the diners in the posh restaurant below. And on leaving the apartment within seconds being part of the multitude. Prague was so compact that the only transport we took was the cable car and a jazz dinner boat - both well worth it. Clare told us good places to go. We took a free walking tour and had the most knowledgeable guide. And most importantly - so many restaurants completely varying in quality and price, some just to rip off tourists, some extra special. How could we possibly know where to eat? That was easy thanks to Clare. Her information gave us a selection of the best restaurants of different tastes and prices throughout the city, including just minutes from the apartment. We were never let down. Would I recommend Clare's apartment? - no, not if that meant that it was booked the next time we wanted to stay there!
“We chose this apartment because of the fantastic reviews; they a”
The apartment is in a perfect location: near good restaurants and important historical sights. It is within easy walking distance to everything and to transportaton. Most spectacular is the view of the Charles River and the famous 650 year old bridge close by. We can hear the charming music and watch the colorful boats pass by. The two bedroom apartment on the top floor of an old building is very modern. It is well equipped and sparkling clean. Clare Fletcher is a wonderful host and made us feel comfortable and provided great recommendations. We liked everything about the home. The kitchen is of good size as is the living room and den space. We were here for a month and found everything we needed. Try to stay here if you can. We will recommend this lovely apartment to all of our freinds.
“The Best apartment in Prague”
Staying in Mala Strana was the perfect way to have the full Prague experience. The view of the Charles Bridge from this beautiful apartment was stunning especially at night. The apartment was extremely clean, spacious and comfortable. Claire was a lovely host by welcoming us at the door upon our arrival and showed us all the important tips of the accommodations. Mala Strana is safe but busy little section of town. We were able to walk to all attractions and there were plenty of delicious restaurants nearby. Pay attention to Claire's recommendations in her guidebook which she developed for the guests. She has great culinary taste.
“Great location and view”
Great location, amenities and services add up to great value The apartment lives up to its name and rave review. The view of the Charles Bridge, the River and City, especially in a clear full-moon night is priceless. Its proximity to the subway and bus stations makes getting around the city and day trips a breeze. Many attractions, parks, shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The owner's hospitality and attention to details adds a special touch to a wonderful experience. Do take up her offer of arranging transportation to and from the airport. It eliminates the worry and hassle.
“Adorable apartment, Best Location”
We've rented apartments in several cities in Europe and this was easily the best ever. So comfortable, with all the modern conveniences combined with 16th century charm. We were there for 10 days with our two grown daughters. It was very nice the way each bedroom had an adjacent room that could be closed off so we didn't disturb each other. Kitchen was the perfect size. We ate all our breakfasts and one dinner at the apartment. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet at night -- no street noise. It was a very easy walk to all the major sites. The taxi from/to the airport made everything so easy and free of anxiety. Clare was wonderful to work with. We visited at Christmas and she even had a little tree decorated in the apartment. How sweet is that??
I can only echo what the other reviewers have said. This place was perfect for our family of four. We loved the location, the layout, the view, everything. Claire was fantastic; she couldn't have done any more to make us more comfortable. She really went above and beyond, leaving food in the fridge, bringing us Christmas cookies, arranging taxis...such a lovely hostess! If you can handle the three flights of stairs to the top floor, this is a wonderful place to stay that is close to the Old Town, overlooks the bridge, and is surrounded by restaurants and shopping. We would return in a heartbeat! Thanks for a great stay, Claire!!!
“Amazing few days in beautiful Prague”
We have just returned from a fantastic few days in Prague. The apartment was everything we were hoping for and more. Unbelievable location right by Charles bridge with all the major sights within easy walking distance. The apartment was clean spacious with lots of character. Spotlessly clean, modern facilities and with good views of the bridge. Clare met us at the apartment and provided us with excellent information on places to eat, directions, prices etc. It really was a completely hassle free trip in the perfect location and would recommend to anyone. Thanks for a fabulous stay- cant wait to go back!
“Truly outstanding apartment, location & City”
Situated three minutes away from Charles Bridge the apartment is in a lovely quiet area, whilst remaining close to all of the main attractions (Castle 10 mins away, old town 10 mins, Jewish quarter 15 mins walk). The apartment itself is spacious, modern and full of character. It has a fully stocked kitchen (with dishwasher), washing machine and tumble dryer. Everything you could need for a vacation or indeed longer stay. Claire, the owner, met us on arrival to show us around and also upon our departure. She really is a fountain of local knowledge and provides lots of information on restaurants, foreign exchange etc. The owner had really gone above and beyond to ensure that our stay was most comfortable. There were plenty of towels, extra duvets if we got cold (very good central heating system though so it wasn't necessary for our stay), tea & coffee and a pint of milk for arrival. Plenty of loo roll (it's the little things that make all the difference!) and cleaning products too!(bin liners, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc.) It's amazing how many self catering places I've been to that haven't provided these extras. The only thing to be aware of is that it is up three flights of stairs (it does state this on the info and Claire, the owner, did make sure that we were aware of this before booking). None of our party are particularly fit and we really didn't find it a problem. To sum it all up, I really don't believe we could have found a better apartment if we'd tried.
“The will to return”
We have stayed at Prague "only" 7 dies, but thanks to the apartment and his owner, Clare, the stay seems like more longer. Like many other reveiwers, we think is a great apartment to have a pleasure stay in a amazing and lovely city. If we return to Prague any time, we think of course where we have been. Thanks Clare!
“perfect location, clean as a whistle”
Everything about staying here worked out great. We paid for a ride from the airport--which made everything easy; cab driver was there holding a sign to meet us--and the owners met us at the apartment to show us around and give us keys. The apartment has an amazing view of the Charles Bridge and is in pristine condition. Bathroom, kitchen--everything clean and fresh--good mattresses, and amenities (washer, dryer, dishwasher, tv, dvd player--although our U.S. dvds didn't work in it, they had a number there to choose from). Neighborhood quiet but easily walkable to everything you want to see. If I went back to Prague, this is exactly where I'd want to stay.
