“Awesome location, great apartment!”

Reviewed 3 May 2013

We had a fantastic visit in Delft. Thank you, Ferdinand for sharing your beautiful apartment with us. Our visit to Delft couldn't have been better (except for the april weather). The apartment is located in the center of Delft (which is an all pedestrian area). We traveled with 4 small children and were very comfortable in the apartment and walking around town. Easy accessibility to everything including literally hundreds of restaurants. Parking is 7 euro a day about 800m away. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking to visit Delft. We will be back!

“Fantastic place!”

We are four academics from the us who stayed in Delft at this apartment for 6 nights in March 2013. We absolutely loved our stay! The apartment has three floors, a nice kitchen, a big kitchen table, working appliance, and nice big lounge/sofa downstairs. All the floors look out onto a pictureesque canal street near downtown Delft. The walk to the train station is about 6 minutes in the morning. We never second-guessed our decision to stay.

“Fantastic - a great half term break for family with four teenage”

We loved this house and loved Delft. Ferdinand and Lindsay were really helpful from the moment we started planning the holiday. On our arrival Ferdinand kindly greeted us at the station and guided us through the delightful canal-side streets to what was going to be a real home from home for us for the next five days. The house was perfect for us - plenty of room to spread out, very well equipped with everything we needed and a great base for exploring Delft itself and the surrounding area. The town was just delightful and we could have spent many more days exploring its nooks and crannies. A day in Den Haag was also fascinating - we especially enjoyed the mind-boggling Escher museum in the old Queen's palace. Our day in Rotterdam passed all too quickly and we will have to go back to explore more of the city. In fact the only complaint I have about our holiday was that it wasn't long enough.

Response from the owner Dear Milnes family, We are so glad you found Delft to be so delightful, even in a brisk February! There is indeed plenty to do and see in and around Delft and it's a excellent location to explore the rest of Holland. So pleased you liked it so much... We enjoyed having you as guests.

Charming sums up this lovely townhouse right in the centre of Delft. From the moment we scrambled excitedly up the stairs, graciously directed by Ferdinand, to our fond farewell, we soaked up every delightful minute in our townhouse overlooking the canal and in the thriving and friendly town. The home is comfortably furnished with a well appointed kitchen, cosy beds and a separate living space, with views from all three levels overlooking the canal, shops and, at times, quaint flea markets. The owners have left a wealth of useful information about local shops, museums, churches and restaurants. Despite planning on trips out of Delft we found ourselves so enamoured of the city that we stayed there and explored for five days. The two toy shops up the street became familiar browsing spots for the children, as did the lolly shop downstairs! Local highlights included Leonidas chocolate shop for afternoon tea, the Prisenhof Museum, where the bullet holes from the assassination of William of Orange ('Father of The Netherlands') took the kids' fancy, climbing up to the top of the New Church tower and riding the bike around town like locals! Lindsay and Ferdinand were welcoming hosts, and the ease and promptness of communication made the whole experience easy and stress- free. They have taken a lot of trouble to ensure their guests have a wonderful stay and leave Delft with a special spot reserved in their hearts and memories for the "Old Dutch Townhouse" and the city itself. One note of warning: the home was ideal for us, with older children, however families with toddlers may struggle with the stairs, likewise the frail elderly. Despite the woes of jetlag, one of my favourite memories of Delft is lying ensconced in the attic room in the early hours of the morning listening to the delilcate chimes of the clock towers all around!

Response from the owner Thanks Krista!!! What a great - and creative write up :)) Best regards Lindsay and Ferdinand
