“Very Clean!”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2017

We just got back from our stay at the Blue Heron..it was beautiful. It is even more charming in person..very clean, spacious and dog-friendly. We took out the canoe and made a fire..my girls loved the freedom to run in and out of the amazing Tree House as well..it is very close (10 mins) away from the town of Huntsville..which we loved exploring. Please take advantage of this hidden gem..We will be back thankyou Susan!

“Perfect for seniors too!”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2014

My husband and I stayed here as our home base while attending a family 25th anniversary at nearby Norseman Restaurant. Delightful time and conveniently close by! We were seeking cleanliness and comfort and found it at Blue Heron. It far exceeded our expectations, it was immaculate, well designed, and spotlessly clean which is very important to us since I have several allergies. What impressed my husband Stanley, was amount of picturesque windows in every room, we counted two in bathroom, two in kitchen, two in the master-room and three large ones in main family room (includes the glass walkout doors) All overlook such a peaceful lakefront setting. Yesterday we saw deer crazing just three feet away! Im a fussy in nature, so only improvement I would add is to include more small teaspoons and few more small tumblers in the pantry. A little about the host Susan. She was absolutely adorable, so thoughtful, organized and accommodating to our personal needs. She had no problem when I asked her to stock the frig ahead of our late night arrival, and we were both impressed with her attention to detail. I loved her special touch of leaving out cream and some complimentary fair trade coffee. That Muskoka Maple is wonderful I might add. Nice to know its locally made. As seniors, we were impressed how Blue Heron was well shovelled, lit and sanded. Its those details why we definitely will return. Just a little on the side We just learned that Limberlost Road, the town of Huntsville, and algonquin Park have many art venues and galleries. Its a true passion of ours so thought Id share. I would be only too happy to share my experiences at Blue Heron

Response from the owner Thank you Cecile and Stanley for taking the time to write such a positive review! Glad you enjoyed that local coffee. We proudly support many businesses in our area and Muskoka Roastery is our favourite too! We leave out place settings enough for 6 , but will ensure that few more small tumblers and teaspoons are on hand for future use. We cater to everyone's individual needs. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and are bringing back wonderful anniversary memories. We look forward in seeing you both again soon! Take care for now, Susan, Blue Heron

“A Lovely Place For a Winter or Summer Get-Away”

Reviewed 2 Feb 2014

Blue Heron is a wonderful place to stay--a beautiful setting in a wonderful location. All the amenities one could ask for and the owners were responsive and accessible in making arrangements, offering suggestions, answering questions, etc. The property itself was very well maintained, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The location is close to ski areas, Huntsville (a charming town), beautiful scenery, and a lake for swimming, etc., during the summer months. All the necessities were provided and in good working order, e.g. a fireplace, a kitchen with every appliance one could want, a TV and DVD, a large living room with comfortable seating areas, a kitchen with an island for easy food preparation, wood available for fires, etc. I would highly recommend Blue Heron as an outstanding place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Ontario. Plus, the owners have done an excellent job of making Blue Heron feel welcoming and comfortable. We hated to leave Blue Heron!

Response from the owner Thank you Margaret and Rick for taking the time to write such a positive review! Blue Heron is all about guests like you creating life-long memories. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and would love for you to be our guest again on your next Canadian visit! Take care for now, Susan, Blue Heron

“the most beautiful view and relaxing feeling...”

Reviewed 2 Feb 2014

This is our second time at the blue heron...we love it. It's clean, affordable, great Location, lake view, close to Huntsville, and close to parks (hidden valley and arrowhead). Susan is great and will definitely be back. We love Muslims...both summer and winter. Can't get enough if it...and wouldn't stay anywhere else...great for a family get away.

Response from the owner Welcome back Stephania and Donato! Thanks so much for such a positive review. I do suspect that you were using predictive typing when filling this review - based on the context of your paragraph, I believe you were referencing the the word Muskoka? We love Muslims too! Blue Heron enjoys having guests from all around the world and puts the welcome mat out to all nationalities. Enjoy your cross Canada venture this summer! Take care for now, Susan

“Blue Heron Cove Visit”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2013

Wonderful experience during our recent visit to blue Heron...the accommodations were spotless, well stocked, with everything a guest would need, and the location was perfect for our day trips around the Muskoka area. Coming home from these day trips, tired, but with our cameras filled with the beauty of the area for future gazing, we were able to snuggle up to a cozy fire and review the day! Very enjoyable stay and we will be coming back!! Many thanks to our Caracciolo hosts! Lori Cook-Adams

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your kind words Lori . Yes, we certainly agree that the the beauty of Algonquin and Muskoka are picturesque in so many ways. There is so much to see and do here in Algonquin. All four seasons offer something special to all our visitors. We look forward in seeing you again soon! Take Care!

“Real nature surrounded by hotel style luxury”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

Thank you so much for our wonderful time spent at your cottage! It is so cozy and comfortable, a great mix of real nature and hotel luxury. We enjoyed cross-country skiing in arrowhead and algonquin Parks during the day and spent unforgettable evenings by the fireplace in the cottage. Thank you for a bottle of wine you left for us, we liked it so much! Many thanks to Nicolle and Jason for taking care of all our questions. We had a lot to do and see in Muskoka. Susan, we definitely would like to return back in the summer but we are not sure about our vacation schedules yet. We will contact you as soon as we can arrange time off.

Response from the owner I'm so delighted you enjoyed your stay and are interested in returning. Im grateful that Jason and Nicole were able to assist - they provide concierge service any time Im away. Its so convenient that they reside just around the corner and like us, ensure all Blue Heron guests have A+ service throughout their visit. Summers are beautiful here and know that you will enjoy viewing some lovely summer sunsets at Blue Heron : )\ Take Care, Susan and Shawn (Nicole and Jay say HI!)

“Blue Heron is sooo quiet and relaxing”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2013

What a wonderful stay at Blue Heron Cove. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay! The cottage was beautiful, quiet and very relaxing. Our dog sure loved swimming in the lake and running around the property. I especially enjoyed drinking a glass of wine near the outdoor firepit and then again by the cozy fireplace. Also thank you for your promptness when we couldnt find the provincial park pass. The cottage was very clean and cozy and you provided so many helpful extra for our stay. We enjoyed every bit of our stay and we look forward to another in the near future Joana, Aaron and Willow

Response from the owner Thank you Joana and Aaron for such a wonderful review! We are so glad that you and Willow enjoyed your stay. Absolutely no problem regarding the pass, we encourage all guests to contact us ANY time to ensure an enjoyable stay - we are only to happy to oblige! We look forward to seeing you again! “God's Country!”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2013

We enjoyed your thoughtful hospitality so much and beautiful decorated accommodations. We just loved canoeing on Walker Lake with its quiet bays and open areas. The underdeveloped area at the end with no cottages makes you feel like you are in the interior of algonquin. Its only a short drive to arrowhead Provincial Park were swimming and canoeing were also enjoyed - Lots to do in this area. The three beaches are great for small children. The 12 mph speed limit make it perfect for kayakers or canoeists who then don't have to deal with speedboats or jet skis. I love your beautiful evergreens by the lake in front of the cottage yet not blocking the view and the awesome Canadian Shield, God-made rocks which abound in this area. Both Walker lake and arrowhead are perfect for distance swimming becuase there are no motorboats to worry about. Biking in the immediate Walker Lake road was fun because of the hills. Well be back, Lord wiling! Thank You so much Ron and Cathy, Buffalo NY

Response from the owner Dear Cathy and Ron Thank you so much for your kind words and detailed feedback. Im sure your observations will be valued by many guests in the future. Agree, Algonquin Park and Muskoka IS God's country! Take care and be assured we have your next trip on hold for you next summer. Kindest regards Susan and Shawn

“Honeymoon Delight!”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2013

Thank you so much allowing andrew and I to enjoy your beautiful, lovely lake-property. We had an absolute lovely honeymoon, and the little extras you gave us made it all the better. The pass to algonquin park was great - we went twice and got two lovely hikes out of it! We also loved having a bonfire by the lake (thank you so much for the wood supply!) and andrew enjoyed a superb misty-morning canoe on the lake Monday morning before we left (it *was* a bit tippy, but was persistent and ended up getting the hang of it extremely quickly). It was a lovely, great trip and we really did enjoy it. Thank you so so much for sharing your lovely property with us. We were thinking of returning either around Christmas/New Years and/or in May come springtime. Is the property available to rent out around Christmas/New Years? We are not party-people, we're just looking for a nice, private, quiet restorative holiday together (much like our honeymoon). Thanks so much again, and Ive attached some pics to share Courtney and andrew xo

Response from the owner Thank you so much Courtney and Andrew for your kind words and sharing your treasured memories. We are always overjoyed when our guests are pleased with their stay at Blue Heron. See you again soon!!! Take care for now, Susan and Susan
