“Great location, but very basic accommodations.”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2012

This apartment does provide a great price point, but overall we were disappointed in the quality compared to our other accommodations across Italy. The positives: - Great Location - Great view from the balcony - Air conditioning - Price - Nice Owner - Small Kitchen and Washing Machine The apartment needs a lot of work to bring it up to a 3 star hotel rating. At this point in time, it would be closer to a 1 or 2 star hotel in North america. The walls need to be painted, the floors are uneven and the hardwood is coming up. The drains in the bathroom get caught and you have to clear them every 2 days. The bed is a little on the hard side. The internet is included with 100MB and that as we all know doesn't provide much. You will have to pay additional funds. The owner is very nice and was willing to help out. I gave the rating an extra 1/2 star since he was very helpful and happy. Someone that you could trust. Unfortunately, this review has to be more about the apartment itself. This was a similar price point to what we paid in Florence, Positano, and Venice and we gave all of those locations 5 stars. If you are looking for cheap, I would stay here if you can overlook the product, but if you are looking for something more up-to-date with all of the amenities in modern day apartments, this might not be a great fit.

“Perfect location”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2011

This is a great little apartment in the centre of Rome and in easy walking distance from major attractions. Alessandro answers your email promptly and offers lots of good advice on what to see and where to eat. He also has a nice collection of Dvds for those nights you just want to kick back and watch a show. The apartment is well stock with the everyday necessities (salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, sugar, coffee, tea, Italian breakfast pastries). The bathroom looks to be newly renovated but I would suggest some work needs to be done on sections of the hardwood floor. I imagine it is hard for alessandro to get this work done since the apartment seems be solidly booked for many months. Overall, we had a wonder stay in the apartment and would certainly return to it in the future.

“Great Location, Everything we needed”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2011

The apartment comes with everything you really need and was quite clean. May need a little touch up paint job!, but overall was great for the rate. Central location and alessandro gives a great recommendation book on sites and their locations. He goes the extra step to be helpful!

“Great Location”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2011

Recently stayed in this apartment for 3 days. Alessandro was great, and left us plenty of information on how to get to all the sites as well as restaurant recommendations. Could not have asked for a better location. Will definitely stay here again if we are ever in Rome.

“Fantastic stay!”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2011

We had a fantastic time in Rome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tritone - the location was ideal and was perfect for exploring all the sites by foot. Yes there isn't a lift, but we only walked up and down the stairs once a day so this wasn't an issue. Alessandro was on hand to check us in, show us around the apartment and there were lots of guide books left on Rome (and a good DVD collection if you fancied a night in!). Overall we couldn't fault Tritone and would stay there again. Graize!

“Amazing Location/Great Experience/Great Host”

Reviewed 24 Jan 2011

This apartment is absolutely perfectly located and has all the necessary modern conveniences. ( We were in Rome for 10 days and took the metro once and took a cab once, and even then, if we had more time to get where we were going, we could have walked. ) It's a 5 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps and everything else is a mile or a mile and half away. The Vatican is a bit further and would be maybe a 30-40 minute walk. In addition to its great location, there was a lot of great information about Rome left for visitors as well as Roman themed movies (Dolce Vita, Roman Holiday, documentary about the Roman Empire) we ended the day enjoying. The apartment was clean and cozy but small. I wouldn't recommend it for me than two people. It has a/C, but when we stayed in January, there was only a space heater by way of heating. Winter is very temperate in Rome, so this was not a major issue, but it did get a little cold in the apartment at night. (Maybe 60-65 F?) Overall, it definitely lived up to our expectations and contributed to us having a wonderful and affordable trip.

“The perfect flat in central Rome for a small family!”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2011

My wife, 8 year old son, and I spent a long weekend in Rome in November. Alessandro was professional and responsive via e-mail and met us outside the property upon our arrival. The property is a very cozy studio apartment with everything you would need for a nice stay. A nice touch were the videos that alessandro made available. The location is perfect with a nice view out the windows, near the subway, and walking distance to many of the Roman "must-see" spots. If you are a couple or small family and want to be in the heart of Rome, Alessandro's studio is fantastic, and the price is amazing. We will be back.

“Absolutely fantastic apartment in the heart of Rome”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2010

The apartment is right in the heart of Rome: we walked everywhere and were able to visit all the sites and pop back for lunch-- there's a supermarket just up the road and inumerable restaurants nearby. It's very easy to get to from the airport if you use a taxi, ours took us straight to the door and alessandro met us there. Contact with alessandro prior to our arrival was fantastic and he was equally helpful and friendly when we arrived. The apartment itself cannot be faulted. Brilliant apartment in a perfect location.

“Perfect location with everything you need for a Rome holiday!”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2010

This is one of the best values and locations you can get in the city. Grocery stores are within blocks, metro across the street, and nearly all of the sites are within walking distance! The apartment is great with a nice size bathroom, great little kitchen area for cooking and cafe, and the terrace is a great spot to sit with a glass of wine while the world below zips by. The stairs can be a bit much (110 of them), but they also are a great way to get a wee bit exercise! Alessandro was at the apartment when we arrived and showed us a few of the spots around the area. Communication was great and he always responded to e-mails quickly. All in all this is on the top of our list of places to stay when we return.

“A second home in Rome”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2010

If you value having space to stretch out after a day of sightseeing and walking and peace and quiet, I highly recommend staying at this apartment rental. The owner alessandro was super friendly and helpful, got us settled in and explained to us what was nearby. Very helpful was a list of restaurants and nearby sights, a pile of guidebooks gave us some additional insights into what to see and do and the complimentary internet access was much appreciated. Bathroom was small but clean, bed was comfortable and the aC unit help us cool in the evening. Very quiet at night. This was exactly what we were looking for - we didn't want to spend a fortune on accomodations in Rome and I didn't want to stay in a cramped space in a hotel so this was perfect for our budget. It's quite a climb up the 5 flights of stairs everyday - but if you're expecting it and are in moderately good shape you should be fine (and I am 5 months pregnant!). Highly recommend this place!
