“PERFECT VACATION SPOT....exceeded all expectations!”
Highly recommend! We were with our 2 sons, ages 10 and 12, and this condo had everything we could have asked for and more. The views were spectacular, snorkeling right off the dock was the best we found.....like dipping your face into a tropical fish bowl. Beach was clean and the dock was a great place to sit with a drink and watch the sunset. Condo was spacious, bright, clean and incredibly well stocked. No need to bring any towels, tons of beach towels too. Kitchen was great, already stocked with many of the staples (paper towels, soaps, sponges, coffee filters, trash bags, etc.) This was our first trip to Grand Cayman and we plan to return and stay here again, it was that great!
“A piece of heaven in the Carribean”
We arrived at Northern Lights after a long, cold, snowy winter to find a place that exceeded our expectations. Many times during the week, we spoke about how happy we were that we chose Northern Lights. The setting is quiet, serene and peaceful. The trade winds made the air-conditioner a useless item. The sound and smell of the ocean was soothing and enticing. The pool was delightful and clean. Our primary goal, other than relaxing and warming up, was snorkeling. Other than the day we went to Stingray City, all of our snorkeling was immediately in front of our condo. A short swim brought us to a great barrier reef. Our favorite "finds" were scorpion fish[very hard to see], a yellow spotted ray, and a lion fish. Although the lion fish is an invasive species, it was very interesting to see it, none the less. The condo had everything we needed, and we elected to prepare most of our meals in the full kitchen. We ate our meals on the lanai, and actually spent most of our time out there. The other residents were friendly and pleasant. None of them were noisy or intrusive. Bo, the condo owner, was delightful: warm, friendly, helpful and informative. We learned a lot about the island from him, something that we really appreciated. Both couples were very satisfied with our bedrooms and private baths. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms separate the two bedrooms so there was plenty of privacy. We could not hear the downstairs TV at all if the other couple were watching it. All in all, this was the perfect place for us. We totally recommend it for those people who prefer peace and quiet, rather than the noise and frenetic activity that seems to abound in other parts of the island. We would love to return to Northern Lights.
“Perfect place to stay and explore the island”
Everything about the place is excellent. It feels like being at home with all the fixings. Full size kitchen and plenty of cookware. Great restaurants nearby. Rum Point is great for snorkeling! The bedrooms are big and the hammock will rock you to sleep within minutes. The view is beautiful. The reef is about 50 feet from the beach. If you are looking for something different than the seven mile beach experience, this is it. Much better than any hotel room!
“Beautiful quiet northside waterfront villa”
This is such an exceptional spot for those who want to get away from stress and congested state of life! Peaceful, quiet and beautiful! the villa has everything you could need and there is a quiet solitude on this side of the island that is unmatched!! the ocean breezes blow through the large lanai screened porches and through the large sliding doors both upstairs and down for that totally fresh ocean air feeling!! there is a dock and wonderful shallow snorkeling reef just off the shore. the pool is lovely and right on the beach and surrounded by beautiful landscaping. The villas face the ocean and there is a terrific view of the sunset from the bench seat on the dock! I would not stay anywhere else in Grand Cayman!
“Peaceful Escape, Not isolated as you might think”
This was our second stay at Northern Lights and will go back again. I have been to Grand Cayman multiple times in the past few years with business. There are lots of very nice places on Seven Mile, but if you want to relax and enjoy the real beauty of the island get away from Georgetown. The unit is more than comfortable and very well kept, lots of room. The screen porches provide a great place for meals and my daughter could live in the hammock. Snorkling was so easy and with a good variety of fish and corals. You need a car, but the distances are not bad. Dining on the north and east offers good choices, Kaibo bar, Over The Edge, the new Tukka and Vivine's all good choices just a few minutes away. Bo has been an excellant host and it is easy to feel at home. We are all ready to go back and explore more between snorkling, reading by the pool or napping in the hammock.
“Private, Beautiful, Relaxing, Peaceful”
Our stay at Northern Nights was a delight. I was one of four adult women who stayed for a few days in February. The weather was absolutely perfect! The "four stars" for location is because the condos require driving to any food places - unlike staying within walking distance to Rum Point.(The crowded Seven Mile Beach area was never a consideration - having been to Grand Cayman twice before - and loving the North Side/Rum Point area.) It was our plan to eat breakfast/lunch at the condo and go out for dinner. We rented a car from McCurley's - being met at the airport was nice. We left (or threw out) food in the condo because we overbought- so think carefully about buying groceries. Do plan to bring "water shoes" because the small beach area is extremely rocky. The pool was a perfect size - and rarely did we see other guests. If solitude and privacy is what you crave - Northern Nights will be perfect. We sat by the pool (and at the end of the private pier), read, played Scrabble, napped, ate out, and repeated it the next day, and the next day, etc...bliss!
“Our condo and the Caymans were awesome!!”
We loved the location of our condo and that we had so much beach area mostly to ourselves. It was awesome being away from the crowds. We truly loved Rum Point and all that the Caymans had to offer and we can't wait to return!!
