“Breath taking”

The Cottage is in a Beautiful location and was more than adequate for all our holiday needs. Was lovely to be able to bring the dogs on holiday to good quality accomodation. The location was central to all the main attractions, especially to Bowness. On the downside, the downstairs bathroom smelled of damp and had not been cleaned properly. We had to clean it before we could use it. We felt it needed updating. The upstairs bathroom could have done with a shower over the bath. The radiators in both bathrooms leak. The oven in the kitchen was a bit hit and miss as to whether it heated up to the right temperature and often took ages to do so. Again with a little updating the problem could be solved. None of these problems detracted from our enjoyment of the holiday at Beech How.

“Lovely location.”

The location of the house was beautiful. Although a little tired the accommodation was good and clean. Outside area was disappointing in need of general upkeep. Employing a gardener would be a good idea. The views would be a lot better if not for all the overgrown foliage. Overall a lovely place to stop but just needs a bit of TLC.

Beech How cottage is well appointed, clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there (included hairdryer which we'd taken). The view is beautiful, but the biggest bonus was the fact that the steeply wooded garden, led via a zig-zag path down to the lakeside! It's hard to see from the photos that the lake is so close, it was a lovely surprise.The weather was fantastic (OK, we were lucky!) so some of us swam every day, including the one who forgot their swimming stuff! (so secluded). It was lovely to wander down in pyjamas with a cup of tea, before the world had woken and equally good to sit and watch the sun set at the end of the day. No down side really...the road was busy but as the bedrooms (lovely comfortable beds)were on the lake side, no noise disturbed us. Very occasionally a party-boat with music passed by, but it was so rare, we smiled & enjoyed it with them. Take essentials with you (tea bags, coffee, breakfast stuff) as the nearest shop we found is the Co-op in Bowness about 3 miles away, but not far & we always parked on the main road near-by.I'd definately recommend it & go again if I could.

Beech How is in an idyllic setting on Lake Windermere.i stayed here in March for my 50th birthday with a group of friends.We could not have asked for a better 4 day break.The house was spotlessly clean with everything you need and stunning views.

Beech How Cottage sits on the edge of Lake Windermere, with excellent views, peace and quiet. The cottage is well equipt with everything you need for a weeks stay including walking and wildlife guides. We used a local taxi firm "Peagasus" for a night out in Windermere which was a £8-9 fare for a 6 seater taxi. Our dogs loved the back garden with path down to the lake edge; but the upside down layout confused our older dog as the lounge was upstairs (to make the most of the views of the lake and hills)! We have already recommended the property to family and friends.

could not have asked for more. it was exactly what we wanted and needed views from all the rooms were fantastic, from cooking in the kitchen, eating in the dining room, sitting in the upstairs lounge to waking in the bedrooms all windows framed a beautiful view of the lake with the high fells in the distance. The location of the cottage is only 2.5 miles from Bowness with great places to eat. The cottage is perfect for dog owners

Lovely cottage, homely with great views over Windermere, good for the dogs although we took a gate with us to keep them enclosed overnight. Fridge might be a bit small if you are in a large party and self catering. Booking agent very helpful and detailed instructions on how to get there given. However, postcode not recognised on Satnav so it may be difficult if arriving later in the day as entrance difficult to spot in the dark.Otherwise a great stay was had by all. Very central to Windermere, Ambleside etc.

The location, whilst good in every way but one(see review title) no amenities close by for shopping for items you may have forgotten or are running low on. Very quiet even though it is on a major road. Could do with better signing as we found it difficult to locate even after we had been there for a week, particularly after dark. Good all round facilities. Towels were supplied, even though brochure stated not. Bird feeding was very rewarding for variety.

The cottage was in a great location with beautiful views across Lake Windermere. The accomodation was very comfortable and met the requirements of a wide age range from grandparents to a one year old toddler. Ideally located to tour around the lakes area although I would say having a car is important, if not essential. Would certainly use this as a base again.
