“Nice cottage, good location and good value.”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2014

Puddle duck was a lovely cottage, plenty of room and plenty warm enough with the fire lit. Great area to visit and not somewhere we had been before. The coastal walk was quite a surprise, in a good way. Dog friendly too, always a bonus to bring the mutt along. The pub over the road did fabulous food.

Response from the manager Thank you for your review of Puddle Duck Cottage. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and found the property spacious and warm. We hope that we can welcome you back again in the future. Kind Regards Lakes Cottage Holidays Tel 017687 74060

“brilliant Lakes location”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2013

Puddle Duck was everything we needed for a Lakes holiday cottage; we wanted somewhere we could be comfortable with our dog that was ideally located to meet our aims of a walking holiday. The cottage was clean, spacious, always warm and welcoming and had everything we could need to make it a home-from-home. Immediately opposite is a fabulous local pub serving great food with a very friendly service. Check-in/out was very easy with the instructions we had received well in advance. The cottage has a small garden overlooking sheep inhabited fields which would be perfect for a summer visit to sit in enjoying a well deserved glass of wine at the end of a hard day walking!!

Response from the manager Thank you for your review of your stay at Puddle Duck Cottage. We are pleased to learn that you found the property warm, welcoming, well-equipped for your needs and enjoyed the local pub nearby. We hope to welcome you back to Puddle Duck Cottage or another Lakes Cottage Holidays property in the near future. Kind Regards, Lakes Cottage Holidays 017687 74060

“Brilliant for a family stay”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2013

The cottage had a very well equipped kitchen. All bedrooms were comfortable, excellent ground floor shower room and large first floor bathroom. The sofas and rug in the lounge are getting near there 'sell by date'. The cottage is an ideal location for exploring everything the Lake District has to offer, would recommend visiting the grizedale forest. The farmers arms inn, which is directly facing the cottage, provides welcoming staff and good food. We had a slight problem with the key box, and could not retrieve the keys and were unable to phone the rental agency as there was no mobile phone connection. Fortunately the farmers arms let us use their phone and the problem was sorted by the letting agents very quickly.

“cozy cottage, very well equipt kitchen, comfortable beds.”

This was my second visit to this cottage which speaks volumes in itself. The weather was horrendous, torrential rain for the whole week, without this cute little cottage with wood burning stove, we would of been in a mess. Very cozy and a delight to spend time on wet miserable days and nights. My mother is 85yrs old so we knew we couldn't walk far and she was very comfy and happy to sit here with her crosswords.

Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at Puddle Duck Cottage, Spark Bridge. We are delighted to hear you are a returning guest to this property and found the cottage cosy despite the weather. We hope to welcome you back to Puddle Duck Cottage or another Lakes Cottage Holidays property very soon. Kind Regards, Lakes Cottage Holidays 017687 74060

“A comfortable stay in an ideal location.”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2013

Five adults and a dog stayed at Puddle Duck Cottage at the end of august. The whole holiday was helped by the fantastic weather! The location is great - ideal for exploring the south lakes. The cottage had everything we wanted and is located right opposite a dog-friendly pub which served delicious food. There is also another good pub within easy walking distance. The only issue for us is that the garden was not securely enclosed. As a field of sheep and cows backed on to it the dog could not be left to freely wander around the garden. Apart from that, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. There is limited space for bikes either inside or outside the cottage but there is ample car parking space in the pub car park opposite. We all had a very enjoyable holiday.

Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback of Puddle Duck Cottage. We are pleased you have enjoyed your stay at Puddle Duck Cottage, including the location and the cottage was well equipped for your needs. Thank you for your comment regarding the garden at the property. Lakes Cottage Holidays do not advertise the garden as being enclosed. We hope to welcome you back to Puddle Duck Cottage or another of Lakes Cottage Holidays property in the near future. Kind Regards, Lakes Cottage Holidays.

“Location, Location, Location”

Great spot, just opposite The Farmers arms, although a busy road. Cottage well fitted out with kitchen utensils, glass and crockery. Towels provided although a couple more would have been ideal. The back of the cottage is a thorough fare for the other cottages. The raised garden has barbed wire which can be an issue for children. Easy to walk down to Spark Bridge. The travel cot provided did not come with bedding, so we had to make several calls to get some. Wonderful large main bathroom, a shower in here would make all the difference. The shower room on the ground floor was superb with the exception of the extract, so noisy - needs attending to. All in all a great cottage.
