“great location and size!”
Great location, walking distance to gondola. Very clean, plenty of room for family with for teenagers. We could never figure out how to get the fireplace to work, and the towels were not very absorbant. Other than that, it was a great place to stay. Enjoyed the hot tub, check in/out was very easy.
“Not a 4-star unit at all!”
My family and I have rented several units in this complex over the past few years, and this is by far the worst we've ever rented. The description states its a 4-star unit with upgrades and custom tile work. The only update that I could see is a new vanity in the downstairs bathroom and shower enclosure, and slate tile around the fireplace. The rest of the unit was as original as it gets with a coat of paint over it. The overall cleanliness of the unit was disgusting. When we first entered the unit, it had an odor of mold. We were renting the unit next door as well since we have a large family, so we knew the maintenance guy had been in there earlier in the day fixing a leak. Seems like the leak was going on for long enough to cause a bad smell. There was dust on top of the refrigerator so thick that it couldn't have been dusted in months. The same dust level existed on the chandelier above the kitchen table as well as on the mantle. There were long black hairs all over the tile floor when we first entered, so they surely couldn't have been from us. Spiders were abound in the unit. The towel bar in the upstairs bathroom fell off the wall upon hanging a towel on it. Isn't that what towel bars are for? Nearly every blind on every window was either inoperative or had slats missing. There were small white hairs that of a dog all over the master bedroom comforter, and they kept getting all over our clothes each time we sat on the bed. The entry way lamp had no bulb in it, as well as the ceiling fan light was missing a bulb. Normally I don't blast rentals like this, but I truly feel as though this unit is sorely misrepresented in the ad. It is more like a 2+ star and not a 4. I wouldn't recommend this unit at all, and would recommend that the rental agency go take a look at some of these issues so that they can discuss them with the cleaning crew.
Response from the manager Thank you so much for the feedback and we are so sorry that you had so many unpleasant experiences during your stay. Ironically enough, I was in that unit yesterday taking new photos for the website. I didn't notice any hair nor a foul smell. I did see the light bulbs out. We will certainly go this situation with our cleaning crew, maintenance crew and mention the needed improvements to the homeowner of this unit. If you would like to stay with our company again, please let the staff that Christina authorized a significant discount for your next stay. Thank you again and we'll hope to see you next time!
“A fun, adventurous, and comfortable experience.”
My experience at the Hidden Valley was a very comfortable and fun experience. The condo was right near the activity center and shops. The inside of the condo was a bit small, but it was very neat and clean. The kitchen was ready for cooking, all is needed to stay at this condo is the food but it had all of the kitchen appliances available. The condo was very comfortable and had a welcoming feeling. The only drawback I had was that my family and I went during the summer time and there was no air conditioning. At night the rooms were very hot and it felt like we were being cooked. It is better to stay at this condo during the winter time because it wasn't built for the summer time. Over all, it was a great experience, you had all of the vacation needs and wants available for a very good price. I do recommend visiting the Hidden Valley condos!
We've stayed at this unit several times because of the close proximity to the Village and great value. It's a short walk to restaurants and Village gondola which is great even for a short lunch break between runs. Cost is considerably lower compared to staying directly in the Village. The unit can use an upgrade and additional plates and utensils because for a family of 6 we seemed to be running the dishwasher after every meal. There is plenty of beds to even hold up to 9 with the sofa bed. Overall great location for a reasonable price!
Response from the manager Thank you so much for the review! We let the owner of this rental know about adding more plates and utensils. Thank you again!
“Close, cozy, convenient (except for check out!)”
I liked this condo, not sure if I would rate it 4 stars, but it is close. Bedroom is very nice, however not really crazy about the living room furniture and layout, but it's pretty small and with the dining area not sure if I could think of something better myself. The only thing I do not like about these properties is having to stop at Mammoth Reservation Bureau in town on the way in and the way back out. It is a real pain, especially when you want to get up to the mountain to ski the last day on Sunday but have to drive back into town first (in the morning after you clean and take out garbage and usher out your slow moving friends!), fill out another set of paperwork, give your credit card info again for the 3RD time, and hand back all four sets keys (which we never figured out what 2 were for...). Kind of a deterrent from renting here in the future in my mind. I can think of other condos the same distance to the solpes that have much less of a check out hassle.
Response from the manager Thank you so much for your review!! You can now leave your keys in the unit and our staff will come and get them (provided you checked in during business hours at our office). That way you can just lock the door and head up to the hill, no check-out required. Thank you again, hope to see you next time!
“Great price, awesome location”
We have stayed at Hidden Valley several times due to the close proximity to the Village. You can't be the prices! This unit had plenty of beds to accommodate our big family. The location works well for us with small children (1 and 2 years) and grandparents which makes walking to the Village super easy. We will definitely stay there again. Only request would be to have more dishes for big families like ours.
“The unit is clean and spacious.”
Nice clean unit near to the Canyon Village. Can easily walk to the Gondola or short drive to the Mills.
Walking distance to the Village. Great place to stay when the Village gondola is open.
