“Warm and Cozy”
Very clean. Easy transaction. I was in I was out. No hassle. My kids really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!!
Response from the manager Hi, Thank you for staying with us and we're so glad that your vacation was enjoyable and hassle free. We hope you continue to rent with us and have wonderful vacations in Big Bear!
The cabin was great except for the front door was really are to slide open. But everything else was prefect from the comfy couches to the beds. The back yard was a big plus since it was fenced all the way around.
“5 day Getaway”
This cabin was the perfect retreat. We had friends come over for dinner and loved the pet friendly backyard. We had warm fall weather. high winds and snow one night. This home did well in all conditions! The neighborhood is level so walking is good for all conditions. We will be back!
“You'll Love It!”
This little cabin was the best! Such a cozy, home like atmosphere. We had everything we needed, the place was clean and dog friendly. It was funny to hear the donkey in the mornings, I had heard he does this in other reviews so we were waiting for hem and he did not disappoint ;) Can't think of anything negative to say. we will be renting this cabin next year as well.
Response from the manager Thanks so much :) We're glad that you enjoyed your stay!
“comfortable but a bit disapointed with the service recieved”
The place was ok, rain fell and water came through the roof into the master bedroom onto the living room. The sofa, lamps were soaked. The dvd wasn't working, went we mention it to the office they said they would send someone out but no one ever came on the two occasions we called. I was even told to check it myself to figure out what was wrong, I mention I'm pregnant they said if I can't find someone who can. Besides the "great" service we got from the office the place was comfortable and had a homey feeling to it.
“Just perfect for a quick get away!!!”
Our friends from Baltimore came out to celebrate their 4th wedding anniversary. We booked this little cute cabin and it turned out to be great. It's smaller than other cabins we have been to in Big Bear but it was large enough for the four of us. The location is the only thing I would have negative comment on since it is a little far away from the lake. Traffic on Big Bear Blvd between the cabin and the lake was bad while we were up there. Overall, I would recommend this cabin to others and stay again.
Spent 5 nights at the hilltop hideaway with my girls. Had an incredible time. The cabin was extremely clean and very well maintained. I would highly recommend big bear cool cabins. The cabin had all of the amenities of home. Right down to the sweet back yard with a gas grill. And Btw...even the grill was clean! The location was close to everything we needed. My girls loved it and I'll be taking them back in the near future.
“Nice but not great”
The cabin was easily accessible. Close to main road with stores near by. Nice and cozy, but more than 4 people and you'd be cramped. Kitchen has no room to really cook or even sit at the table. The neighbors look like mechanics so they're outside working on cars. The other neighbor has a donkey or mule that's very opinionated. The front door is a glass slider and its very hard to open or close. When we got there I couldn't locate the lock box with the keys and when I did the combo didn't work. Apparently there's two lock boxes so make sure you find the right one. The shower heads are only about 5 ft high. The beds...the worst part...So uncomfortable. We woke up stiff every morning. But other than all those things, it was excellent.
Response from the manager Hello thank you for taking your time to write this review. I have taken some time to go over this and I just wanted to take a moment and respond. The occupancy at this cabin is four; this limitation is set by the City of Big Bear so there would never be any more than four occupants aloud in the cabin at one time. As far as the kitchen and dining space I think that the pictures definitely portray the cabin accurately, meaning that it is on the smaller side and probably not the top pick for a cabin if you are planning on doing a lot of cooking… We haven’t had any complaints about the door so far but we will send someone to the cabin to check it out right away. There are two lock boxes, one being the homeowners but this porch is fairly small so they are very close to one another. The showerheads are standard height but I will definitely contact the homeowner and see if we could purchase mattress covers or pads so the beds are more comfortable. Once again thank you for leaving this information, it is very helpful. Thank you, The Big Bear Cool Cabins Team
“Nice place but has a few shortcomings”
Lighting was always an issue with the cabin. I think I understand the reasoning for the lack of lighting to provide a cozy "romantic" atmosphere but at least give the option for proper lighting. Maybe I missed it but there was no cooking fan to suck up the smoke cause from when you cook a meal. The smoke detector being right on top of the stove didn't help with that either. That made a cooking a two person job. One person to cook and the other to fan the smoke detector. The shower on the upstairs also suffered from improper lighting. The last people to stay at the cabin are probably the ones to blame for this but the propane for the bbq was out so making the bbq obsolete. The cabin itself is a nice cabin and with a few updates it can be awesome. The location is a great being outside the city and away from the main city crowd. Hearing what I think was a donkey every morning was probably the best part. The front sliding door was great cause it allowed light into the cabin while the sun would be out.
“Comfortable, clean, and cozy!”
The pictures don't do the cabin any justice. It's a great place to spend the weekend! The fully equipped kitchen allows for your own meal prep and the fireplace keeps the cabin warm. Would definitely stay here again :)
