“Peaceful, Privacy, nature, wildlife & swimming”
I really didn't want to leave at check out time. I could really get used to living like that. Evening walks, beautiful sunrises, and clear refreshing Georgian Bay just steps from the back door.
Perfect in every way, clean, great location, the most wonderful sunsets, the view was spectacular, great hiking and kayaking in the area, perfect for long walks on the rugged shoreline
“Spectacular views, tranquil place”
Lovely cottage. Beautiful wood interior, spectacular views. Rocky shoreline makes for an interesting, different experience from a beach cottage. Dyer's Bay is a lovely place to escape to. The cottage owners are very nice. The cottage rental is fair value.
“Stunning views, crystal clear water, & beautiful pine interior.”
Lovely cottage - a bit pricey but a spectacular setting and zen like space. We had a fabulous holiday here.
We enjoyed the time so much - the water is perfect, the weather was warm and we enjoyed every minute of it.
“It is a nice cottage but not for families with young children”
It was a well maintained cottage with spectacular view of the Georgian bay body of water. However, it has no place for kids to ba able to play safely. The entrance of the cottage literally opens to the road beside it. The other side of the cottage faces to a rocky high slope shoreline with a highly slippery rocks at the entrance to water. There is also no facility such as a boats or canoe for outdoor activity. The bottomlline is that if you are an elderly person without any young kids and would like to spend most of your time inside the cottage and at the same time enjoy the view of water, this is the place for you. Otherwise, it is better to look for another place for your vacation time. The bottom line is that
“Beautiful cottage, beautiful view!”
We loved this cottage on Dyer's Bay. Beautiful setting right on the water and very quiet. Lots of room for a family of 4. The only drawback was the distance from Tobermory ... it's not as close as the listing suggests but still manageable (1/2 hour drive).
“Relaxing in Dyer's Bay”
Stayed June 18-25, 2011. Great week, very relaxing. Only drawback was the cooler and rainy weather but no one has control over that. Cottage has a beautiful view of the water and the entire Bay. Short set of rock stairs down to rocky beach (flat rocks) be prepared to be be careful as you head down. Water shoes recommended as rocks can get slippery. There is a fire pit but it is surrounded by rocky area so not the most comfortable spot and hard to find flat spots for more than 2-3 chairs. Cottage was clean and had ample kitchen utensils and dinnerware. Couches were not the most comfortable but were ok. If it had ben sunnier that wouldn't have mattered but we did have to stay indoors a few days. Bedrooms if travelling with as a couple only have twin beds. We pushed out twin beds together and brought king size sheets... it worked. Conveniently located. Only 25 or so minutes to Tobermory and 15 or so minute to Bruce Penninsula National Park. You can hop onto the Bruce Trail right in Dyers Bay (found that on our last day). Would certainly return to Dyers Bay and this rental.
“A cozy Georgian Bay retreat”
My wife and I were looking for a quiet relaxing week in September away from the hustle and bustle. We both love to hike, and we have been to this area many times camping when our kids were young. This cottage was exactly what we wanted. We enjoyed sitting on the side deck with munchies and a drink listening to the waves on the rocks below, after a day of hiking the Bruce. We loved being right on the water, as it changed moods each day. Those evenings that the sky was clear gave us a magnificent show of stars. The photos on the internet show exactly what you get, a well kept, cozy, rustic cottage. The beds were comfortable, and all appliances worked well, however we never did resolve who was “captain” and who “first mate” was. If we could find fault with anything, it was pesky fruit flies from a sticky garbage can in the kitchen. We would definitely return another year. Thanks for a great holiday. Bonnie & Pete Russell
“Beautiful cottage, beautiful location”
We stayed at this cottage on Dyers Bay and absolutely loved how quiet it is. Although there are other cottages fairly close by, this cottage is very private. A stunning view of Georgian Bay and the bluffs is easily enjoyed on the deck or from the large living room with windows. We also enjoyed campfires at night, as there is a fire pit on the "beach". The only caution is to be careful with the water. The shoreline is all sheets of rock, and can be very slippery. Also, the water was very cold, so we enjoyed the water from the shore, not in it. That said, Lake Huron is close buy with sandy beaches and warmer water if you're willing to drive a little for a dip. Everything was very well maintained and clean, and we'd definitely recommend this cottage.
