“A good place to stay”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2009

We enjoyed staying at the Miller Lake cottage. It is well maintained, clean with a lot of space for 5-6 people. We tried fishing and my son was lucky to catch the large mouth bass on the very first day! It is conveniently located ? 15 minutes drive to Lions Head beach (we liked it a lot!!! But the water was very cold); 20 minutes drive to Tobermory. We went to Cabot Head Lighthouse museum ~40 minutes drive (because of unpaved road) and liked the view from the road and the museum itself. Overall it was a great experience. But here are some things to know about the cottage : even though the house has 3 showers, you can use only 1 at a time. The water pressure for the second one will be very low. Another problem was with the opening the windows. We managed to open only 2 windows in the house (in the upper bedroom and one bedroom on the first floor). The weather was not so hot, so it was OK, but for the hotter days it could be a problem. If you want to use the beach in Summer House park (only 3 km away) , be prepared to pay ~30$ for 4 people for a day pass and share beautiful, but very-very small sandy beach with a lot of other people and spend a day in the noisy environment. Good luck!

“A wonderful place for voacation”

We spent a wonderful week at the Cottage and had a wonderful time. It is a spacious house for contain a big size family. Lots of bathroom make people so convienent. Everything was in order and it is so close to the store for any basic needs. Close to beach. We'd definitely recommend this house - especially if you're bringing kids and want to spend a lot of your vacation at the beach. There are plenty of room for the kids to play inside and outside. Enjoy.

“Just Okay”

Reviewed 26 Jan 2009

The home was basically okay but overpriced for the condition of some areas. Particularly the upstairs bedroom and ensuite. Wallpaper was hanging off the walls in some areas and we had to duct tape the shower head on the hose so it wouldn't fly around the shower. Probably would not rent this property again.
