“Easy out of car into the cottage for seniors.”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2013

Although my 94 year old mother was unable to get down to the water she enjoyed the view from above. Only wish trees in front were trimmed down a bit. Cottage was very clean the best I have rented so far and roomy. Shower was a bit tight though. The wild flowers were very beautiful on our walks down the road. Enjoyed the scenic trips and trails around. Just a little disappointed in the fishing but there are other lakes around to put your boat in. All in all we had a great trip and stay here.

“Small, bright, comfortable, with good lake view.”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2011

Cottage looked just like the photos. Large windows, very bright and cheery. Good view of lake from deck and living room. Loved the sauna! Stairs to lake very steep with big steps - not good for anyone with bad knees. Lake temperature was chilly but worked great with the sauna. Kitchen could use some sharp knives, a decent cutting board, place mats. new pans etc. If you plan on doing any real cooking - bring your own gear. (single cutting board was tiny and stained, knives very dull, old & flaking Tfal pans...). The living room rug smelled of dog - pet-owners might not notice. Beds were soft, but comfortable. Satellite TV kept losing connections. Nice cottage overall.

“relaxing.”

it would be better view if the trees were trimmed. did not like the bunkbeds. did not like the shower. did not know there was internet. sauna was great for the men.

“Just what I was looking for in a cottage rental!”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2010

I spent a lot of time researching cottage listings and appreciated other renter's feedback so figured I would return the favour. I rented the cottage with my parents, sister and her two children. I was satisfied and very pleased with the cottage, property and location. The cottage is awesome! It is nice and well equipped! Loved!! being situated on Miller Lake and having private access on the dock and deck. We used the canoe and firepit both. My sister and the kids slept in the bunk-bed cottage which was cute with it's own view and deck. We did not use the sauna. My parents are 72 years old and were able to safely traverse the steps down to the water; however, you do need to be careful. You do have a partial view of the water from the cottage; however, it is partially obstructed by trees. The water tank is a small one so we did run out of hot water in no time. When it was just my parents and I it was O.K. but once it was at it's capacity of four adults and two children, hot water was limited. My Dad contacted the owner that night when we first had no hot water. The call was returned the next morning. Admittedly would have preferred not to be responsible for cleaning it at the end of our holiday. My Mom and I are ready to celebrate next Canada Day @ Miller Lake Cottage.

“Excellent vacation.”

“Great Vacation”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2009

The cottage was well equipped and very nice and comfortable. A four slice toaster and a stereo with FM reception would be the only thing I would change. Beds were also comfortable. We enjoyed the fires at night by the lake and there was a nice supply of wood to use. Great base to do day trips around the Bruce. We did a day trip to flour Pot Island, Bruce Provincial park and saw the beautiful escarpment and grotto, spent a day at Sauble Beach, went shopping in Tobermory and hiked on the Bruce trail. Canoe trips on the lake in front of the cottage was also nice. Very nice holiday had by all.

“Adventure Cottage”

Reviewed 9 Feb 2009

Our family had a wonderful vacation at this cottage. Our 4 boys loved the separate bunk house; we liked the sauna. The boys loved climbing the rocks and fishing off the dock. We loved the quiet and privacy. The cottage was neat and clean, had plenty of rainy-day games and puzzles, good TV reception, comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen and a great BBQ. The quiet roads and forest allowed the boys to enjoy their mini-dirt bikes and bicycles, while the adults enjoyed scenic walks. We also enjoyed fires in the lake-side fire pit. The only thing I could have wished for was less stairs, but they were certainly solid and easy to traverse. We also had wonderful day trips to the provincial parks, the penninsula, the boat tours, quaint restaurants, day trips to Sauble Beach and Owen Sound and much more. The nearby camp ground had a great restaurant. The electric pump went out one morning and the owner immediately called an electrician who had fixed within 2 hours of my call--faster service than I get in the city! All in all, it was a great vacation property and we would definitely rent it again. P.S. The dog loved it too!

This was one of the nicest cottages I have ever stayed at.It was very clean and well maintained. It was well equipped.Lots of privacy. When you went down to the sitting area by the water early in the morning.it was like you were the only person on the lake.We enjoyed jogging in the cool air and then relaxing in the sauna. We hiked the Bruce trail and spent days at local beaches. My son caught some fish in the lake, using the canoe supplied with the cottage.I would definitely recommend this cottage.
