“Great little getaway”
Love the cottage. A little cold in terms of hearing but went in Spring so you need extra bedding. Would love to visit again. The only issue might have been instructions for the use of the satellite TV. Figured out for the most part.
“Tobermory Getaway :)”
We rented this cottage for a one week stay. Cottage was very well equipped. It has a nice little sandy spot for my kids to play in, which is fairly rare in Tobermory (mainly rocks). We very much enjoyed our stay, and plan to come back again next year!
“Best vacation ever!”
Paradise Bay is a great place to spend an active vacation. It is close to hiking trails. It also a wonderful place to spend the day outside. Swimming, exploring the rocks or just having a drink by the water. Negative points being the bbq- igniter didn't work and it was difficult to light. Almost singed off my eyebrows. Previously repaired handle fell off. Had to use oven mitts to open after. Beds weren't very comfortable. Woke up with aches in the morning. Nothing a good hike didn't loosen up though! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go there again. I would bring an air mattress and one of my own frying pans next time. The kitchen wares were pretty good for a cottage rental. Key box is difficult to open.
“A nice quiet relaxing place”
Nice location, use of kayak, quiet, clean and close to lots of great day trips and hiking. Satelite TV signal was not always perfect (and usually no cell phone service) but that was not important to us. We had a very enjoyable stay. Also nice to be able to bring our little dog along too.
“Paradise Bay cottage (#272), real paradise”
great spot, quiet but a 5 min to tobermory national park and beach. Lot of space to play outside. A1.
Loved the spot and cottage. Not used to the smell of the water from the faucets and ran out of hot water quickly but this was minor compared to the location and comfort of the cottage.
We have stayed at a few cottages in the area over the last 9 years and this cottage was great for comfort and the close proximity to Tobermory. The kitchen is well-equipped and the appliances were clean and updated.Outside the picnic table was a little wobbly and the outside lounge chairs could use repair. The barbecue worked well. We found many snakes around the cottage as well as a rattlesnake who hung around one afternoon... The lake was great because of the shallow flat rock made easy access into the lake and kids had a great time . Thank you, The Wilson Family..
Though I could only stay a week this is a lovely little cottage with a great view and perfect location. Nothing beats getting up in the morning to a lake view out of a post card and having a cup of coffee, all I can say is thank you to a great little get away.
“Perfect Cottage Respite”
Our family of four stayed at Paradise Bay the last week of August this year and hope to return next year as well. So lovely to find a place that is low key, a true "cottagey" cottage, with its own small sandy area and wonderful water views. Kayaking with provided kayaks was a lot of fun, and the kids enjoyed chasing minnows through the shallows at the shoreline. The sound of coyotes greeted us the first night, and every night the lapping of the waves lulled us to sleep. If you aren't handy with a woodstove for heat, the cottage would be on the chilly side at the end of the summer - as it was, we kept it roaring through the night and were mostly ok. And so great to be able to bring our dog along too! 4.5 stars - the only issue, as I mentioned, was the heating issue - everything else was perfect.
“Amazing! Couldn't ask for anything more!”
Our family vacation was perfect this year! First, I couldn't believe how clear the water was! Even though it was cold to get in, once in, I couldn't get out! We swam every day - the weather was perfect. Second, our small schnoodle was in heaven. Talk about Doggy-Disney! We couldn't keep her out of the water. Really, we wanted to stay there forever.
