“Clean, cozy and quiet”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2013

The Barn was a great place to stay. My kids loved it they played in the shallow lake, fed Stinky Pete(a chipmunk), fed the geese, and enjoyed catching perch and crayfish in the lake. The pictures are exactly what you get very clean and everything you need. Its about 5 mins from singing sands beach which we visited almost daily and about 10 mins to town.

“A perfect relaxing family getaway.”

The "Barn" cottage is a cozy and comfortable place to take a family away from the everyday busy life. Everything you need to feel like home is at your arms length. The depths of Larry's Lake is convenient for young kids. The sunsets were beautiful. Tobermory, and Lion's Head were both beautiful towns within a half hour drive. While there you must visit the Gratto and Singing sands beach. The beach was a few minute drive from the cottage. Truly a great vacation spot and can't wait to return.

“Fun Family holiday”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2013

We have two small children so the location at a small lake with shallow water was ideal for splashing around and canoeing. A canoe is in the shed. There's also a deck next to the dock and a firepit only steps away which we much enjoyed. The cottage is small and a little dark (surrounded by lots of trees) but we were outside all day anyway. For us who like to keep it simple the space and appliances provided were just right. With the kids we much appreciated the washing machine. We did not use all the appliances but what we used worked well. I think the cottage is well looked after by its owners. There were even toys, books, movies etc. available (for the rainy day that we did not get). Location is not far from the National Park where we spent most of our time. Dorcas Bay Road is full of 90-degree-bends but on holidays one is not in a rush, right. Great cottage for those who need little luxury.

“It is a lovely cottage.”

We had a wonderful time, the kids played in the lake practically all day catching minnows and crayfish. They loved feeding the chipmunks. We just love it up in Tobermory.

“It's a right place to stay for my vacation on Bruce penninsula”

The two bedroom cottage is comfort and you will have everything you need there. the only cons: the shower-room is so small.

“A friendly, comfortable cottage/home in a wonderful locattion.”

It was magic being on the Bruce Peninsula in June (no immediate neighbors were there when we were.) This location is perfect for wildflower enthusiasts and field naturalists. At this time of year, the property is full of yellow lady slippers, and many tiny blooms. A stream rushes through the raised roots of cedars along the property line. Wonderful. Up the road is Singing Sands Park (think showy lady slippers and pitcher plants). The cottage is comfy and convenient and has everything you could need to feel at home.

“Wonderful Honeymoon Spot”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2009

The information on this property was right on the money. It was located just far enough from Tobermory that we could still drive in each day and take advantage of all the town had to offer. The cottage was clean and well taken care of. As we were honeymooning we loved the privacy that the cottage had to offer, but if you are interested in meeting other people vacationing near you this is not the property, very secluded. We would go back to this cottage in a heartbeat. They made our first week of marriage very memorable with a wonderful place to stay!
