- Very Good
Cottage is very private, spotless and very well appointed. Lovely to sit on the large deck and watch the birds flutter while the waves roll in th distance. Very close to Tobemory for supplies and a half decent "Northern Golf Course". We have rented two other cottages in the Tobemory area and this is by far the best one yet! We hope to return next year.
“Great location, lovely cottage”
Our family had a brilliant stay at Tuckernuck cottage. The cottage itself is very nice and it is exceptionally well equipped with all that we needed. The owners were happy to accommodate our request to supply bed linens, making our lives much easier. The location is superb - the lake was on the doorstep and the kids could play on the rocks and try and catch crayfish. In the evening it was great to relax with a fire in the fire pit while watching the sunset. The lovely beach at Singing Sands was only 10 minutes drive away, and other locations in the National Park, such as Halfway Log Dump, Indian Head Cove and the Grotto were all only a short drive. We stayed for two weeks and certainly never felt that we were short of things to do in the area. We would be more than happy to return to Tuckernuck cottage if we got the chance. You can't really ask for more than a lovely place to stay, in a great location, in a beautiful area.
“Wonderful cottage close to Tobermory”
This cottage is in a great location close to Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula National Park. It has a fabulous deck and property that's very private surrounded in trees. The cottage itself has a great open space for the family room/kitchen and very comfortable. The only negative is the rocky shoreline and rocks in the lake - it is quite a walk out to get to deep water - watershoes advised. We would stay here again!
The service we received from rentcottage.com was very good, factual and accommodating. The rental was very nice and for the most part well equipped (no microwave). It was close to amenities and was just as indicated in the information. Gorgeous sunsets! Beaches were close and convenient as were the walking trails. It was quite and private. The living space was ideal. If there was a microwave and satelite TV for rainy days and evenings, it would have made it perfect. We enjoyed ourselfs and our dog really had a great time.
“Everything you need”
This cottage is just as described. The four of us were pleasantly surprised to find such a beautiful and nicely decorated cottage. I am very picky as to where I stay, and I'm glad to have spent the extra cash on the Tuckernuck. My two kids loved it. The water was way to cold for swimming (as expected) and the days we did venture out to the shore, we were only able to get in knee deep; beware the very slippery boulders. The view is amazing however and there is a lot of exploring to do. Just a short drive down the road, you will find the amazing Singing Sands beach and a short distance further, will bring you to the heart of Tobermory. This cottage is truly amazing, convenient and worth every cent. The owners do a excellent job keeping it up. Don't expect any fishing or canoeing off the cottage though. I brought a raft, thinking we could use it - impossible. The current at the time was too strong. This probably explains why there aren't any canoes or kayaks included with the cottage package. The cottage did smell a little like dog, which bothered me. A little incense covered that up quickly though. We would definitely stay again.
